Your videos always make me feel so at peace, this one made me feel like we just went on a nice, peaceful brunch and had a relaxing time talking about books! A lot of these books I hadn't heard of before this video, but they all sound absolutely beautiful, "soulful" type of reads!
hahaha I’m about 300 pages in so far and my biggest question is who actually are the bene gessarit and how is this book SUCH an historically known sci-fi classic? Hahaha it’s not bad, and I’m enjoying pacing through the story, but I am mostly lost and not particularly blown away by it - maybe the ending is brilliant? We shall see!
I was also a little let down by Nevermoor! but YES I'm so intrigued by Cadence! I may pick up the second book and hope it blows me away :) I really didn't like the first book I read in Melinda Salisbury's other series but I've been intrigued by that duology! That last cover is gorgeous! hurray for catch-up TBRs! I've been thinking about doing something like this where I catch up on books I've had on previous TBRs but I didn't manage to read during that challenge--those are the ones that just seem to languish at the bottom of my pile! Good luck with these!
I shall definitely keep you updated and let you know if it’s worth picking up this second one! I can imagine you enjoying this duology, I haven’t read her other series so not sure how they compare, but the tone, the atmosphere, and the setting of this one seems like one you’d enjoy, and ofcourse the covers are beautiful!! 🥰 I think that’d be a great way of creating a tbr, with all the leftover ones! Like a Frankenstein tbr 😂
I can't believe it's June already! And I had no idea what A Clockwork Orange was about until just now. Ha! I have really been enjoying your themed readings, even this month with the non-themed, themed reading!
This year has been going too quickly and can it please just pause already? Hahaha, okay okay can you keep a secret? A Clockwork Orange is one of those books that I KNOW about, but actually have NO IDEA what it's about, and I know some of the images from the film adaptation, but they seem really strange out of context, but I just couldn't be bothered to fetch the book so I just used the "we all know what its about" line to save me from the embarrassment of not actually knowing what its about! Hahaha I think it's a gang novel or something? Thank you for the lovveeee
Bit odd but I am envious of your cooker, I've never missed anything more than I miss having a range cooker! I love that even within your open theme you've made little subcategories of movements haha. This sounds like a really interesting array of books, particularly interested to see how you find Dancer from the Dance.
RedheadReading hahaha that’s not odd at all! I think I would miss having a proper oven at home! I mean in Hong Kong I didn’t even have one at all, everything was done on a hot plate! Haha I shall hopefully be starting these books soon so I shall eventually get to reviewing them, but thank you for your, as always, lovely comment!!
So many great sounding books! Dancer from the Dance and Ernesto sounds so great! I've been really getting into queer lit a lot more lately after reading The Great Believers and The Hearts Invisible Furies, at the moment I'm reading some queer non fiction called Queer Intentions, it's great so far! I've seen The Office of Gardens and Ponds on the shelf a few times and haven't paid much attention to it, but you've just made it sound amazing!
That's fantastic, I've definitely been reading a whole lot more queer reads this year too, most of them by accident actually because they've had really subtle queer undertones which I have absolutely LOVED! So I hope these ones will be good for me too - I really should get to The Hearts Invisible Furies at some point!! Haha, I'm glad to have done justice to The Office of Gardens and Ponds, I really hope it lives up to what I've been expecting from it, I shall definitely keep you updated - also I just love the cover hahaha!
Wow, I love eggs. i wish one day i can eat your food ! Lovely Video... I 'm in the Ban Book Buying period but i'll publish a new Book Haul tonight ! hhhh
wow welcome to matt's cooking corner haha also my theme for the next couple of days is catching up on your videos lol i haven't heard of any of these books but i hope you have a good month reading them and i'm looking forward to hearing about your thoughts once you've read them :-)
Hahaha, who knew I'd become a cookery channel hey?? It was actually really lovely to film myself cooking, I know it sounds weird, but it made me take things a lot slower, and act more calmly, whereas usually I'm just so frantic and making such a mess and trying to get the food into my mouth as soon as possible hahaha!
I have no clue how we got to the 6th month already...! „The theme of the month is that there‘s no theme“ look it‘s me :D Super super interested in Dancer from the Dance, keep me updated! I really need to get to State of Sorrow!
Ugh... it fills me with dread to be honest! Also, I will keep you updated, I've got my fingers crossed it'll be good, but I also know deep down I won't like it? IM BEING SILLY AND IM SURE I WILL LIKE IT! Also, yes.... yes you really do!
Good grief I hope that inside cover image ISN'T the age gap - age gaps are fine, but there's a line lmao. My god, here's my reminder that I NEED to read Song of Sorrow and finish the damn series. Intrigued to see what you think of it! I'll see if I can pick it up towards the end of June and message you about it. Good luck with the TBR!
Hahahaha! I know right, when I opened it I was like... oh... could....no it couldn’t be? Well maybe? Hahahahaha Also, I was SO CLOSE to saying “and Ashleigh loves this duology so I’m glad to be reading it too” then remembered that you hadn’t actually read the second one yet 😂 do let me know if you get to it towards the end of this month!!

Awh thanks so much, Carla!!
I'm glad this video made you feel that way, that's exactly what I want my channel to feel like
Ooh Dune! I'm interesting to hear your full thoughts on that. It's a bit of an odd one for me, hahaha. Wundersmith sounds lovely, and that cover😍😍

Good luck with your June TBR. I can always guarantee that there'll be several books in your videos that I haven't heard of, but seem quite intriguing.
Thanks so much, Charlie!!
Glad I can bring some new titles to you :D
