I've seen a lot of moose videos in Alaska and the Yukon. This is by far the best and with the most content you'll probably ever see. Thank you Brian Elwarth for sharing your experiences, truly amazing.
Amazing hunts, I’m 65 years old I’d love to hunt with you. Your an awesome man. The old man that dropped his moose with 1shot. He was so shaking and excited. Love your videos. Barry Nova Scotia, Canada
A question for gentlemen hunters - how do you take away carcasses of the harvested animals weighing about 1 ton from such a heavy, impassable terrain by any vehicle?
This was a great video watching 15 moose being taken ,all videos should all be like that . Not just one moose per video . Videos will not be the same after this one. I wish the next one you will add what caliber the moose was shot with . Some of those big guys just swallowed those rounds and kept on walking. Good job
@@51spook70 Alaska is a wet damp place at times. It had been sleating and snowing for a few days and the camera was suffering. It had been in my under garments for some time trying to get the mist in the camera to clear. Lucky it did enough to get the hunt on film or you would not have seen it👍👍
This is not an achievement, this is a shame. No respect for you guys with yours sophisticated guns against an animal without defense. These mooses should be walking in the bush right now, not hook on a wall.

NICE BULLS ALRIGHT...!!! One of the biggest bulls I seen was 5x7 on the brow, & 21 points on ONE SIDE... Huge... I know the fellow NEVER entered it in the Boone & Crocket records... But on a Heavy Tandum Trailer, this bull moose horns measured less than an inch & a half on both sides of this trailer... I have a couple of pictures SOMEWHERE... I would guess this bull was pushing close ot 80`` .... Sounds like BS... NO NOT AT ALL... My largest bull in this same area was 72`wide.... Nice horn...but beat up animal...Estimated the animal was well over 10 year old...
very good reason why 3 shots 30yards below the bull is a very steep creek which we did not want the bull dropping into this would have made recovering the bull much more difficult Always a reason we do things thanks for asking
You do not stop working the action and putting bullets in a big bull moose. Shoot, work the action, and continue to put rounds in the vitals and shoulder of big bull moose. As hunters it is our job to make sure the animals we hunt die as quick and humane as possible. If a moose doesn't drop with first shot even with a perfect shot they can live for minutes. Shoot and work the action until the animal is down.
One thing I've always said moose hunting pump the lead till it's dead. They are an incredible animal that can take many shots and you never want to leave a wounded animal so to make sure you get it you dont stop shooting till it hits the ground.
It was winter and the power went out in Maine. The news had a guy complaining when the blizzard took the power out And I have a whole freezer full of moose meat. Like he couldn't move it outside, thaws in the freezer you have to move it any way. I'm sure people would line up to take it off his hands before it spoils, all the effort not worth taking the whole freezer out after emptying it and put it back in. I can't see a moose video without remembering that news report.
We like to limit suffering but the main reason we shoot again is to put the bull on the ground where we know we can butcher on him easily and if you know anything about moose hunting you will know you don't want to work on a moose when they are in the water
Why do I feel bad after seeing the moose shot, I can't help but feel some kind of way, I know it is and animal but when seeing it shot and then run abet I feel bad.
We use big calibers and shot placement is good. Obviously you have never taken a animal this size or you would know they are big tough and very difficult to put down straight away unless spine shot our you use a 50 cal
@@clearedhot7030 I am not trying to change anyone just saying it must be painful when first shot and another shot, life taken away for what just living
3 shots ... 1 ruined front left quarter... 1 shot in the backstrap prob ruined half the meat in the hind left quarter... and by my guess bc i couldnt see due to the trees another poorly placed shot.... not hard to see they are after the rack and not the meat .... poor shot placement needs more time shooting on the range
Yes thanks. It took a lot of work and effort to be in this position. We were very deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Would be a 7 day hike to the nearest rd. 7 hour horse ride back to our basecamp which is a 2 day ride to the nearest rd. Takes skill to sneak in on any animal while they are unaware of your presence. People that think a animal has to be standing up before you should shoot them are just stupid in my opinion. That's putting human emotions into a wild situation. That moose did not care whether he was hit by a hunters bullet while standing or sleeping.

How do I get information to book a hunting guide with your crew?
What caliber did you used on this huge bull moose?
Several different calibers but 30 caliber is best because moose are big animals
Unbelievable Brian, awesome guide.
