It appears you had the same brief difficulty as I did finding the continuation of the trail to the middle lake; it's a bit sketchy. Well worth the extra elevation gain to access the excellent fishing! I was there a few years ago in late September and the bite was fantastic despite very windy conditions that made fly casting difficult. The colors only get more intense as the spawn ensues! The trail was a challenge due to altitude and grade (I was 65 then) but I'd gladly do it again. Nice video, Thanks!
Was there yesterday. Six nice cutts and cutbows in less than 30 minutes, all on ants or beetles. And even better, at this time of the year, I was the only person at the middle lake.
Hey! I was planning an October camping trip to Colorado and my girlfriend mentioned she had always wanted to go to telluride. Can you recommend some places to camp and or fish preferably within an hour or two from telluride so that we can go visit the town as well. Any info would be helpful! Thanks!
@@trout.addiction I had more luck with a dry fly a couple of summers ago than a guy had who had been using a spinner. Glad to see you return the fish to the water. It is one of the most beautiful locations anywhere, worth the hike alone. Fishing is a bonus.
@@trout.addiction dang ok well I wanna do a trip up there and camp and i’m just trying to get as much information as possible. Cuz there is not much online about it. Also do you need a permit to camp there cuz I keep seeing things about that
@@trout.addiction I go to similar lakes in the Sierra Nevadas in calif. Good times. Thnx for sharing your adventure. I’m in Santa Fe if you ever want to link up. I go all over New Mexico and souther Colorado.
Totally, I was pretty bummed about it too when I played the footage back. Good lesson for me early on to check the lens frequently. Appreciate you watching!
Awesome, great scenery and fun fishing.

Beautiful scenery and perfect handling of the fish.
So awesome! I fished Clear lake and had a great time, but would love to find one of these lakes with big cutthroats!
What a beautiful lake! Lots of nice fish in your net!!! Congrats from Japan!
Thank you!!
The fish at the 14min mark was a stunner

This is awesome.f Cheers Bro!
Thank you!
Nice spot and pretty fish
was that a black woolly bugger? looks like a quiet day compared to when I was there in Sept last year
Yup, black wooly bugger! And yeah, pretty much had the whole lake to myself all day

Was the lake very crowded with people and are u you allowed to keep the trout
I was the only one fishing the lake that day, and no, this lake along with the other two are catch and release only.

@@comicpeak4560 I don’t believe you need a permit, but I would double check. I’ve never camped up there.
What weight rod did you pack ?
I used a 4wt, which worked fine on that day. I’d recommend a 5wt at least though since it can get pretty windy up there.

@@Mattytube18 lots of awesome lakes in the Sierras! I’ve been trying to explore that area a lot more the last couple of years. Tight lines!
@@trout.addiction I have sone cool spots to take you if the opportunity ever opens. There’s big golden trout up there.
@@Mattytube18 totally down!
The smudge!...the smuuuuuuuuuudge!..
Enjoyed it...but that stupid smudge REALLY detracted from it...

@@trout.addiction despite the smudge...I loved it.
