This happened to me too. I joined mid match in a team that already had a lost round. Ended up with 12 - 3 with around 2k-ish damage by the end of the round and I started getting shit talked about my damage and told I'm a bad sombra by some prick. Mind you we WON the round I joined.
Nobody seems to know how this character operates. But I'm living vicariously through fitzy stomping these whiners.

Im a support player and I always see widows and sombras get shit on for low damage numbers, I always stand up for them like "bro she has double the elims of you with 3k less damage isn't that saying something about your damage"
@@warspite_4715 exactly! It pretty much means sombra is the one securing kills. Her job is to be the assassin and the opportunist. You can have all the damage in the world, but it won't matter if you're not eliminating anyone. Those are the people that pump all their damage into the tank and think they're doing something.
@@LGSN96 not only that but they are healing that damage and giving ult charge to their supports. Support ults are crazy strong too so pumping damage without kills is technically feeding
@@LGSN96 there is some benefit to having someone drain a tank's health because you'll end up either splitting the healers' attention or drawing them out.

I had a Sojourn say that exact thing to me as Sombra. And this was back during Season 1 when she was still crazy OP. Even though I only had 2 fewer eliminations than her and we still won the match.

It drives me crazy that some OW players will see one bad game and then claim your a total looser who can't play. Literally everybody has bad games. Pro players have bad games. People will talk shit to me and I'm just like, sure I didn't play as well as I could have, we lost. But your opinion of my skill after kinda seeing it for maybe ten minutes and looking at some stupid damage numbers is literally worthless.

I love how stat andies only look at damage/healing instead of how the game goes in general. Sombra (especially if Fitzy plays her) is so disruptive that it forces people to pay attention to you which draws them away from whatever they were doing (healing, pushing objectives, shooting people, etc) and can shut down so many ultimates with one hack that it makes people paranoid. You can't just throw your ult/cooldowns willy nilly when there's a Sombra around because you will very likely get punished for it and that's why people hate Sombra so much. She provides utility which isn't about raw numbers and they don't understand the character

The camaraderie here was adorable, everyone from every team sided to punish the Sojourn even when your team did not actually say what was going on to the other team. that shows that even on their side things were being frustrating.
The kill Sojourn got on you also is very significant on why the numbers in the scoreboard mean so little, yes, she killed you, her kill number got higher she got her damage stat, but doing so she wasted her ray on a squishy, and oppened the choke point letting Rein to come over, not because of anything about her really, but because your EMP provided such a good distraction.

I'm not sure what happened within the last week or so, but Sombra hate/blame has been on the rise. I had a guy refuse to leave spawn before the game even started because I played her.
can we just admire for a second that the mercy on sojourn's team was like "wait why me? oh okay fair; bro tilted hisself before we even started."
There was this one time where multiple people on my and the enemy team were coming at me as Sombra(except one that was nice, cheers to them). I wasn't hurt by anything specific they said, it was just sad by the sheer number of them.
I was sleep deprived though so, they didn't see me in my prime 😈.

I got really mad today because these 3 guys there in a group and probably friends so these 3 kept ganging up on me they killed me 9 times and tea bag me all 9 times like its some sort of achievement to a bully an alone support player, a rein, sojourn and may 3 of the annoyingly strong heroes
