Old Grand-Dad 114 is one of those bourbon gems for many of us in the States ... typically under $20 in my area and a pure cinnamon bomb. It's not overly complex, doesn't have a ton of wood flavor, but for the price it's a belter. As good as Wild Turkey 101 or Evan Williams BiB IMO. Cheers!

I would probably always have it on my shelf for that price. Just as you described, and all flavours I enjoy!

I look everywhere for the early times ever since it’s release. Still no luck but the 100 proof and it’s price is great. Your notes shows I’d enjoy this as a daily sipper. Cheers Jon 👍🥃

I hope it shows up in a market near you. I liked it and would certainly have a bottle if I could!

That was fun! Glad you enjoyed the samples, Jon! Your notes are spot on! These two are always on the shelf for me. Depending on the mood, I can definitely change allegiances between these two. Interestingly, I've only recently been seeing the OGD BiB here in Texas.
Funny how you had some banana with the ET. That's often in some Brown-Forman products. I should add that Brown-Forman sold Early Times to Sazerac/Buffalo Trace last year. Hopefully, it does not become an "allocated" item for us. Cheers!

Thanks again for sharing these with me, I really enjoyed trying them! I did not know of the sale, and certainly hope it stays available. Take care!

Tonight was my first night with 114. As you may remember, I am a Beam fan and love bottle in bond. I thought it was going to be a stronger ogd bib. It is NOT. I find it interesting. I understand it's hot, but I like it. I like the high rye mash bill of Beam. I think Beam just has it. I got a tiny chocolate cherry with a hint of orange zest. Very cinnamon. I love the Beam peppery finish. I think I have a new favorite with 114. As for Eary times bib? That is difficult to find but is available in my area. That is the next whiskey I need to find. Budget but sought after and difficult to find. Cheers my Canadian friend. Taylor from Texas

Sure sounds like 114 hit the spot! Awesome. I still can only get the BiB, but enjoy that one a fair amount. Thanks for sharing, cheers!

@Whisky Neighbour I get it for about 22 dollars USD. I would be glad to send you another sample bottle.

@T Cup I am good for now. Just sharing that this is one I cannot get here. That said, there are lots of good bourbon around, so I am thankful for that.

Enjoyed the review Jon. Can’t seem to find these but the ET would probably be my choice. Cheers 🥃🥃

It was certainly more approachable and a little more relaxed. I can't actually purchase either of them here, but I am so thankful for the chance to taste them!

They were both great for me, different from each other, but great pours. I wish we could too!

I haven't had either unfortunately, but I like the sound of both. The ET would probably be more to my liking - but you never know! Cheers Jon.

I had both with you, here in ohio, they are both low enough priced to ALWAYS have a bottle

Get a lot of peanut butter on the 114 (esp. as it airs), and definitely heaps of that cinnamon spice you alluded to and now that you mention it I can totally connect to that bready note. Over time I’ve really come to love the OGD Bonded as an affordable everyday sipper, perhaps the proof + youth of the 114 just makes it a bit too syrupy. Still a delicious dram for the price. Which I could find the ET BiB in my parts. Cheers Jon!

Glad you could drop in! These were just samples for me, but I enjoyed both. Glad you enjoy OGD BiB and certainly affordable here. Cheers!

Old forester 100 proof is one I debate against ET BiB a lot!!!

These are amazing especially at their price points. I hope that Sazerac continues to produce it and at the same quality/price

I'm curious how WT 101 would compare with these pours?
    Cheers Jon!!! 🥃🥃

That is a great idea, I kept half the sample back, so maybe I can try that later. Cheers!
