    So far, this is the best interpretation of this sonata I've been able to find on UA-cam. He really brings out the emotional depth of this piece. It's always a pleasure to hear mature artists play "easy" music. It demonstrates how, in the end, it's not the difficulty of the notes that really matters, but what you make of them. Music.

    In John McCabe’s wonderful BBC guide to the Haydn piano sonata( a wonderful pamphlet, highly recommended) he calls the first movement of this sonata “singularly dull” a statement with which I completely disagree. I’m systematically listening to every Haydn sonata, and haven’t yet found one that isn’t worth listening to repeatedly. What a genius he was!

    Awesome!!! How can such a simple ideas can contain such a wonderful beauty! And the performance makes it possible. A masterpiece is nothing unless in the hands of a talented musician like Roland Batik. Besides the performance itself, I enjoy watching Mr Batik delighted with what seems to be a journey to a state of bliss that he refuses to let go at the end of each movement. Thank you, Roland.

    The haydn-ornaments are executed very elegantly. As a student, I'm finding them quite difficult to execute with consistent precision. For some reason, I can't get the first C key to return fast enough to get a crisp C at the end of the ornament (DCBC).

    De las interpretaciones que he escuchado es esta, para mí, la mejor, muy matizada y sensibilizada. Ayuda a conocer a Hayden. El trío me parece una genialidad del compositor y una gran interpretación. La música es el mejor invento del ser humano o uno de los mejores.

      Beginner piece, a good Haydn sonata to start with. It seems fast but the it is not that difficult. You can always turn you metronome down. Really advisable to practise it very slow (same speed as the second movement). Get all your phrasing in order and go, kick that metronome up a notch every time you play. First, previous speed second time 4 or 8 bpm faster. You'll play it in a month or two dependent on the time you have to practise. If you do it every day, I'd say a week or two.

    • @elaineblackhurst1509
      @elaineblackhurst1509 11 місяців тому

      It is impossible to reply to a comment such as this that stands on its own pedestal as a monument to utter absurdity.
      Composed probably even before Mozart was born, it was certainly written before 1760; Hob. XVI:1 is probably not by Haydn at all, and if it was, the only possible model for this type of partita or divertimento is Wagenseil (though Haydn was actually ‘influenced’ by virtually nobody apart from CPE Bach).
      If you think that this sonata has any resemblance to Mozart’s C major sonata facile K545 written probably more than thirty years later - it doesn’t (apart from a bit of standard Classical Alberti bass).
      And for the avoidance of doubt, given the above, neither is K545 Haydn ‘influenced’.

    • @antoniomoyal
      @antoniomoyal 11 місяців тому

      Ok maybe it was mozart who was influenced to the K545. But the similarity is very suspicious
