If this was like an anime, Twilight and Trixie would have stopped fighting every second to spend half an hour explaining their moves, motives, backstories, feelings and other angsty things instead of just fighting one another
Needs a LOT more geography-deforming battles. The fact that there are houses still in the background makes this battle completely un-Japanese.

It would be unnesscesarily long. And there would be a scene where they blast beams at each other and the beams meet, and there would be a lot of screaming and it would be EPIC!
Personally, if a crazed witch has powers I can't match - I'd definitely *THANK* her for letting me out of the lands she was ruling and run to get help from Canterlot, Zecora or anyone else out there.

I must say, this episode got on my nerves. Twilight was acting like a simple cart full of apples is so hard for her to do. SHE LIFTED AN URSA MINOR!! Ursa, several tons of mythical bear creature. Cart of apples, couple hundred pounds. How is THAT so much harder? She was one of the strongest magical creatures in Equestria, and she was having trouble with SIMPLE spells like that? UGH!!
