i’m a DVD collector and the blu-ray conversation is so, so real. it’s harder and harder to find physical media these days - part of why i am so obsessed with preserving it as i’m able!
For myself the main annoyance is region locked dvds that are never released in more than just 1 region Spongebob for example only season 1-5 are in region 2 the rest are only in region 1.

I did one for an NSP concert, I drew it all with markers and paint, all in katakana, and wrote NINJA SEX PARTY at the top. And my very Japanese teacher thought it was for a porn show and didn’t let me present it. After a week of confusion and a discussion, she let me present it. I left that poster with her, and as far as I know, it’s still in that department as a teaching aid.
The only thing I'm "worried" about with them playing Jazzpunk is them missing bits the game has by doing their own. The game is a blast to play and really funny but I don't think it does super well with UA-cam channels that make their own comedy as well. Either way I'm super excited for that

I think it's just physical media being a dying market that isn't very profitable for them anymore. Same reason grocery stores hardly ever carry a decent selection anymore; it's all just the best-selling basics and nothing else. Unfortunately just sort of the way the system works.

So in the US it's protected because there's no statute on when you can protect something, but in Europe they lost the lawsuit and have basically sent empty threats to other board games using either the design or the name but courts have told them to stop.
