I find myself loving imperial settlers more and more. This has really elevated my experience of the game and adds a new challenge. I’m just starting a campaign with the Romans and am loving it! Thanks!
We're having serious balance issues with this expansion as we don't have any of the other expansions only the base game. In particular the invention iron armouries (ea enemy loses a foundation every time you raze from hand) is causing conflict in the group, as the token related cards are obvious from character expansions and can be removed, this card isn't that obvious, although anything that creates or targets foundations I believe is from the amazons expansion. I need a verdict on this, should we remove any cards that mentions foundations in their effects or not? They're not going to agree on this issue without an official statement about it
Thanks for the overview. Would be great to put up a video about the whole Imperial Settlers game from base game through all the expansions. How they play, how to come up with each faction and their strength, what each small expansion brings to the table, what promos do, etc... Hmm...maybe something for @Watch it played or @Zee :P
Does it work well with all previous expansions? I wasn't sure if I should pull put content from Azteks, Amazons, or Atlanteans? Would you reccomend playing with all of those, or is that too much?
My opinion: Many of Portal's games have a greater depth to them than other popular games. This depth allows you to discover more and increase your skill with every game play. A game like Imperial Settlers can be played and enjoyed the first time but each experience entices you to adjust your strategies and to make new tactical decisions. When you feel that you know how to play well, you can choose a new faction and start the process over again. Rise of Empires gives you a tangible reward for returning to the game and getting better at using the factions in new and challenging ways. I think these two designers are brilliant and one happens to have beautiful eyes to match their personality. :)
I played few game with my wife. I played with Atlanteans faction. I scored 246 vp at game 4 and at the game 5, i did an infinite loop with 2 reset action card with minor techo on it and an action card give you the production of production card with à minor techno. If you have production card with worker, gold and technologie, you Will gain inifite of them. And, with à major techno on one of them, you gain infinite pv. So infinite technologies to buy. The New province card and technologie help à lot to reach that goal. And the New double token Also. Can we put this token on province ? If so, they dont be remove? And for the double token of action card? Can we put it on an action province? And, can we put on an common action card with à minor techno?
Can I ask why you didn't add events in this expansion? That was the most interesting thing in the free campaign. Loved the randomness of these event and dealing with them. Shame it isn't in this set. Unless you're planning on milking it another expansion? Joking aside, are you considering something similar for Empires of the North? Thanks for this. Glad to have both of EotN and IS in my collection.
Events add cool unexpected things to the campaign. These are perfect solo, but cannot be used to facilitate in the multiplayer campaign as they influenced balance. No campaign for EotN is in the works as for now.
Look forward to checking this out and getting the old IS box off the shelf again!
A great design team. Keep up the great & hard work :)

Great overview, Love Joanna's tattoo :) Hopefully Merry makes a miraculous comeback :)
Looks like an improvement, thanks guys.

I am going to be starting up a strategy guide series on the factions of EOTN. But I’m not sure if that’s what you were looking for!
Will this be the last expansion for Imperial Settlers?

Yes, it does. I myself play right now Rise of the Empire with 3 is a magic number expansion and it works nice and smooth.
Awesome! Anything similar coming out for Empires of the North?
Not in the works atm :)

This sounds great. Any chance something like this might get released for 51st State?
Nothing in the plans ATM

Is it Solo?
Yes, there is a dedicated solo variant in the rulebook.
It is how I've been playing and really loving it! It got IS back onto to the table and I remember how much I really liked the game.
Cool tattoo, Joanna. How about you, Ignacy, no tattoo?
I am afraid :)
