Hello Karl, great to see 00 gauge in the garden, I also run the same in a south facing garden so know about the strong sun, I too have put gaps in at the fishplates I pack electrical conducting greeze into them, this keeps good electrical contact and prevents the fishplates detereating, l pin my track to celcon blocks which prevents track lift as the pins aren't fixed so strong as they are in wood, this has proven itself over a 12 year period, please don't take this as a criticism of your railway because it is definitely not, I appreciate the work you have put into yours and it proves 00 can be run out doors without a problem, I learn a lot from other people's projects, that's the Great thing about this hobby , sharing ideas. thank you for posting Carl and leaving some good tips, kindest regards. Paul.

Karl nice layout, I too dreaded cleaning my track to my garden railway. Yes a half hour at least for tip top running. I have recently began dead rail operations, running the railway on RC battery power. I too had issue with track expansion, so I float my track tacking down every meter or two. Well done layout Karl. 🚂👍 Ron//
