love watching these mage videos from ven. hope to see more mage content like this. its always great to see the insight of a great mage player and whats going on with the class.
I remember your first video when Spellslinger was announced and you were so salty and sooky about it. Saying it was the worst thing ever. How times change :), glad to see you enjoy it.
They kinda overdid animations for mage, they looked incredible but they're toning them down, i guess perfomance issues showed on alpha if there was few mages in a raid grp/bg. They also did some changes on sunfury like toning down 8 meteorites to 4 and increasing dmg by 100% instead.
Because it's beta and the numbers don't even matter at this point, things will be balanced further, so damage isn't the point. It's that the game play is FUN.
Why does everyone have insane cleave and aoe. Looks cool honestly but, they literally turned pvp into pve. Tbh it's been like that for a while, but it's even more now.
@venruki Would be cool if you looked into Enhancement Shaman and how bad it is. Need your voice to help us out. Enhance is trash, you know it I know it everyone knows it. It has been for years. No mobility, no MS, cant play it in 2s..No one wants in RBGS. Its been bad for years and no one ever says anything or speaks up on it. We got our hero talents dead last out of everyone and they are bad. Other classes getting multiple reworks in DF and TWW and we havent had a rework in YEARS even tho its the worst melee in PVP... NEED YOUR HELP
mage is sooo winning this xpansion. every specc looks extremely pleasing. ok - priest has that little black hole that looks awesome but besides that, mage is just what every mage ever dreamed of. you are just raining down frost, fire and arcane on enemies and everything lights up its sooooo nice to look at. been mage ever since vanilla and never been so happy with it :) dont care about numbers
That little black hole is incredible gameplay pattern for disc specifically, but yea, overall all 3 mage talents are bangers, among the best hero talents with probably rider of apocalypse, voidweaver, and herald of the sun.
undeniable that M+ destroyed wow PvP due to M+, everyone does full AoE (even sub/sin rog 😂) and everyonr have everything... i think i wont do a single arena game, all my hopes goes in soloBGs
I've played every expansion since WoW's release - and with the exception of a short stint in Vanilla WoW MC and in WoW Classic '19 for ZF farming; i've never played a mage. I can hardly understand what is even happening with retail mages half the time - but this? I want to play this hahaha
The war within looks like it's going to be a million times worse than DF for buffs and nerfs because as we all know it will have a super hero class that will peev everyone off then they will of course nerf that but why they are at it nerf other builds for no reason and give buffs to other classes for no reason and then rinse and repeat for three seasons until they finally decide too many have quit and it's time to reel it in! PVP needs a separate game asap

I think the overall problem is that at one point we wanted more talents and spells - we got that. Now, considering the a large majority of these additions were added for the majority of players. Aka pve players. The other problem is balancing these changes for pvp which honestly seems virtually impossible. I think the only way we’ll get an even balance is if we do what we did in previous expansions. Adding/removing a small amount of spells which is much more manageable than this horrible system we have here. Cata wasn’t perfect by any means in terms of damage or balance. BUT I think that we can use the changes from Wotlk to cata as a comparison for future expansions.
This spec is dangerousl. Because it makes me asleep whille watching. Maybe its better to play, but me as firre mage hopes i can shine as the SunFury Mage, with the Phoeenix.

@sbsftw4232 I mean he didn'treally have to hard cast anything that often. Vast majority of it was instant cast procs, or super quick casting procs that he could move and cast from the looks of it on top of it.
If melee is going to have so much uptime and so many micro-cc's then the game is basically forced into giving so many instant casts to casters in order for them to stay relevant. I'd be completely in favor of going back to melee being kitable and casters having to cast, but the mobility arms race has been getting worse and worse ever since Monk / DH were introduced

It had pretty similar damage to other classes when r1 player played against random potatoes, so it doesn't seem overly op at least.

in theory yes, but you are not guaranteed to get the surge cast off, which could result in wasting the magi

No one should care about numbers right now. They’re still doing things like buffing or nerfing spells by >30%

MM Hunter has wind arrows and withering fire that mechanically work similarly, but look so so sad. Why couldn't they get something like this?

From 7:00 until the mage dies, you do 1 million DPS. I think the interrupts are justified.
