Today we're playing with some new makeup from Chanel, NARS and Victoria Beckham. I was so tempted by the new lilac eyeshadow and mascara from Chanel that I ended up buying both. Have you tried the new lilac mascara, what are your thoughts on it? I'm going to keep playing with it but I don't think it's my favourite.

Good morning 💜 I absolutely love this Victoria Beckham gloss 😻 It’s the perfectly peachy-pink for the summer. Also, I only realized once I was editing that I forgot to use the new Comète perfume! 😅 Next time.
Try the lilac mascara only on your lower lashes as an accent color you might like it better.

You look beautiful Allison...I too bought the Chanel lilac mascara and was totally disappointed. Made my eyelashes look like a milky white! Beautiful color but not appealing on the lashes!

Allison try using the shadow as a liner uder your lower kashes and apply the lilac mascara to the bottom lashes and black mascara to the top. It will make it pop in a wearable way!💜🤗

Bonjour! I think the lilac mascara might work better with a contrasting eyeshadow color. Maybe the lilac mascara against a dark teal eyeshadow? Or with an orange eyeshadow? Something editorial? It gets lost against the lilac eyeshadow. I love the lilac eyeshadow on you. 🐈⬛
Great idea!! Merci Phyllis, I’ll keep trying it out with different shades. I like the idea of using with a contrasting eyeshadow shade.
What I do with colored mascara is this. Put the lilac mascara on both top and bottom lashes, concentrating on the bottom ones. The bottom ones will be very pretty and show up with just the color on them. Then add black mascara to the tips of the top lashes. That way you still get definition Hope that helps

I saw Tania B Wells put the purple mascara only on the buttom lash line, with nothing on the eyelid but with black eyeliner and mascara on the upper lash. It looked amazing!!! You should try to see what it would look like on you

I saw a video the other day with someone applying black mascara at the top and the lilac one at the bottom lashes. Looked quite nice! 🎉
Today I’m wearing a dark blue mascara on the top lashes with the lilac on the bottom lashes - much better.

Am I the only one who hates “clean beauty”? Shadows and blushes require more work to get the color I like, and the texture is chalky. I miss the buttery texture of the old Chanel products.
I’ve been tipping the lilac mascara over a coat of black. So pretty! Try the lilac over a bright blue mascara (I like the Dior Overcurl in blue). It is a stunning shade of blurple!💙💜😻
Oh thank you for the tip! I’m using it today on the bottom lashes but someone mentioning using it with a contrasting eyeshadow shade.
When it comes to clean beauty for me, it’s really not a selling point. For me it’s neutral or meh at best.
I also use the Dior Overcurl in blue over and under the black one when I want a blue makeup and the result is amazing but I was thinking with this Lilac it would make the lashes disappear like when you use the Base Mascara which is white.

Our neighbours cat has decided that he wants us as his owners and never goes home. His owners call every now and then to check on him😂🐈⬛. Love the nars combined blushes on you. I think I will pass on lilac mascara 😂

Love the eye shadow and lip gloss! Great summer look, plus it brings out the green in hazel eyes❤ As far as the lilac mascara…I agree with you…plus it is just too light in color…
I look that I have used and really like is….using the Dior blue mascara . I first apply black mascara, then I lightly put the blue mascara very lightly in A FEW random stripes…from base up to tip…it adds some interest yet you still see dense black lashes….Dior blue waterproof is really pretty ….! Maybe someone else would like it as well🥰
Oh interesting idea! Today I’m wearing the Dior blue mascara on my top lashes with the lilac on the bottom. It’s a much better way to wear it.
Try using a eyelash primer, the white kind, before applying the lilac mascara. It helps it pop.

Hi Ali. Unfortunately the quality of some ofCHANEL products have changed a lot. I was MUA for them for over twenty years! I miss the quality and integrity of the brand back then. Back then CHANEL stood for sophistication, class. Now it’s not that different from other brands and for the money, we expect the name we trusted for so many years. I do not like the oversized compacts at all. We can’t use all that up before it will turn. Give me a smaller compact that I can use! Love u and ur channel always. ❤

Another option to make the lilac eyeshadow "pop" is to use the WHITE Tarte Shape Tape concealer on the lid. ;) Definitely a beautiful color! I would maybe buy that Chanel one if I didn't already have the Nars one that is similar.

I don’t wear a lot of lip gloss but I do own 2 from Victoria Beckham. I love her formula. Yes. Using eye cream to remove eyeshadow fallout is genius! Not only do you remove the fallout but you’re giving your skin a little bonus. ❤

Hi Allison. Love the lilac shadow and I do have it. As for the mascara I love blue green purple and brown ones. Got the lilac but wasn’t happy with the results. So I apply black and then go on the tips with the lilac. Do the same with gold mascara. Not crazy about either. 😊😊

💜 I wonder if maybe the lilac mascara would look better or at least not as unsettling, with a dark eyeshadow look? Like, if could make them pop more if over a darker colour, as opposed to a lighter, similar shade? It would probably still look rather artsy, but it's a thought.

It is a shame about the colour mascaras that Chanel just put out, they just don’t seem to be very flattering on anyone. Hi Allison, loving that lip gloss from Victoria Beckham it is so pretty on you. I was so eager to see that lilac mascara from Chanel but like you I have dark lashes and I am not sure now. I like color in my lashes it’s fun so I use the YSL blue mascara , it’s like an electric blue and it’s great . I get so many compliments, so I think for now I will pass on the lilac mascara. I think it’s because the lilac is such a pastel, white based color that it looks odd on black lashes. Maybe if the lashes are super blond it would work. But I agree with you the color is stunning!

I purchased the lilac eyeshadow have not tried it yet; it looks lovely on you. The lilac mascara is a beautiful color but it makes the lashes disappear. Maybe trying it on the bottom lashes only. 💜

It is a big no for me for the mascara. I have tried purple, blue, green and burgundy over the years and and it color showed up, not like this one. Maybe if one has blonde eyelashes it would work. Otherwise love the look.

i personally love how the lilac mascara looked but i wore it with a sheer glowy shadow. that and my light med complexion gave it enough contrast.

I went to try the lilac mascara, definitely not for me. I went after to Sephora with a friend and the salesgirls at Sephora loved it 😂. The eyeshadow is great though 💜

The lilac mascara reminds me of wen a person gets stuck in the snow & their eyelashes freeze with snow on them, lilac snow tho.
That's what I like to call a Montreal mascara.

For me the Lilac Mascara is a Non Merci. As I mentioned in a comment below, I think it makes the lashes disappear like when you use the Base Mascara. I love the blue mascara from Dior and I use it a lot but with that as well under black or over black mascara. I want to make the lashes stand out not to make them less obvious. I think the Lilac Poudre shade (which btw I am getting tomorrow along with the Blanc Perle) is enough of purple xx

Love the look. So being my age if I used that beautiful mascara it would look like grey lashes in me. I loved a cobalt blue mascara that is more defining. What if you just wear it on the bottom?
I do like many items from Victoria Beckham. Packaging is quite lovely. I have not tried her glosses yet and not her contour stick either. Love her eye pencils.
I cannot say enough of Lisa Eldridge’s skin tint. Honestly a full 2 drops is sometimes too much. It is very nice. Her pencils are very good also, soft, colourful too.
I wore the lilac mascara again paired with a dark navy mascara on top and it was much more flattering.
I can't get enough of that VB lip gloss, I'm wearing it almost everyday.

@@AllisonChase I actually like it over black mascara although you would think it would register Halloween it’s a bit more subdued. I decided using it at the base of my top and bottom lashes is best. That way you have that hint of color but still don’t lose your eyelash definition on top. It’s going to be really pretty in fall paired with a rich chocolate brown eyeshadow.

I think the lilac mascara is a look you have to get used to seeing on yourself because it's so different from your usual look. I agree with other commenters that it would look good maybe just the bottom lashes only or on someone has fair lashes to begin with? In any case, the end look came out really nice! 😻

The Lilac mascara seems really tricky. I don’t think I could/would wear it. @tania.b.wells did a pretty look and used it on her lower lashes and it looked nice but, not something I will be purchasing.
