How to use Image Placeholders in Google Slides

Did you know Google Slides has an Image Placeholder feature that let's you ad placeholder to Themes. This way you can create amazing templates or documents for your students to work with.
Som examples I've use this for are creating Reflection documents for students, Lesson planners with image prompts for TA's and students, Writing planners, Design Journals, Project based work, Templates for Class presentations and many more.

Hi, thank you for the tutorial. I am trying to set up my image placeholder with a graphic element that goes on TOP of the image (partially covering the image). It looks good in templates but when I go to use the slide the placeholder always end up on top of the graphic element and there is no way to reorder. Any ideas if there is a workaround for this? Besides adding the graphic element later?

Google sites has these as part of the Layouts option. In the sidebar you can add section layouts and these have placeholders available.
