Love my Janus pouch. I have it in the strap of my versipack ASR. When on holiday, the Janus pouch is the perfect size for things like passport, tickets, and so on. I'm the same with the bungee loops, can't really think of much to put in there that won't be more secure elsewhere.
I'm glad you reviewed this. I've had mine for at least three years. You'll never need another one, super high quality and well thought out design. I keep my small Glock in mine, or my mini binoculars with a Kaweco sport and small writing pad for when I go into the wilderness. It's not exactly light when its empty compared to others but its incredibly tough. Thank you Stephen for this fair and comprehensive review!
Yeah man...Maxpedition products may seem a bit pricey to some but you really get what you pay for...units that will last years. Just added the Janus pouch to my collection and can see it being a very useful EDC and tool pouch as well...good review sir...
1) If only there were a belt section, available in different sizes, so that the pouch would not need to be threaded onto a separate belt, but the entire assembled unit could be integral.
2) The interior of the pouch might be more easily accessible were the zippers extended further, such that the pouch could be opened (almost, if not completely) flat.
