A year of development has led to this; A super strong Center Carrier for any IRS application without the need for a lathe. Built from readily available off the shelf parts along with accurate laser cut parts so you can assemble yourself for a fraction of the cost. This is what you have been looking for! I know this because as a builder I've been trying to find this for almost 20 years. Plans below show the required parts with part numbers for a complete IRS setup for 420 or 520/530 chains, .dxf files to upload for laser cutting, measurements for all parts, every single nut and bolt needed for assembly and plenty of pictures and walkthroughs. This setup is appx 56" hub face to hub face and has proven 15" or more of travel without binding. This has been missing for the home fabricators for too long. Enjoy!

For drilling the wheel hubs, I'd suggest making 1 more part to have laser cut. Make a ring that has both bolt patterns on it, sized so that it fits over the M12 studs prior to removing them, and can be used as a drill guide for the M10 hole locations. Since you'd obviously be buying all those laser cut parts to make the center section anyway, what's 1 more?
You are absolutely right! Someone did suggest this a few days ago and I’ve already gotten to work on it. I test everything before I make it available so look for it soon! Thank you for the awesome idea and insight. 👍
And thank you so much for your very informative/encouraging videos..more power to you and your family..
Clean setups man! Love it! :) find it slightly difficult to find similar parts in finland but I get the idea behind the builds! Cheers!
Thank you! You got exactly out of it what I hoped!
Damn didn't know you'd pump out part 2 already thanks kj
Well it was all the same day, just too long for one video.
Just a heads up on bolt pattern. Mini sprint wheels are 4×4 with wheels available from several suppliers that are aven available as wheel halves of any offset and bead locks.
The spool will be the first step for me, since I have the tools necessary to complete. My shop press is 12ton though, I hope it’s up to the task.
I’m excited to use the tool for its intended purpose too hahah. I’ve had it for years and it has so many uses, but I never once have used it as a bearing press lol
12t will be enough I got the 15 because the 12 was out of stock. I love that you are getting started! And thank you for all the comments 👍
@@KJRaycing absolutely. You’re an awesome teacher. I wish I had found you two years ago :)
Love it! I gotta old Yerfdog I'm snowmobile swapping and may end up doing one of these IRS rears until I can build a real kart
Thanks man! You could put one of these in a “real kart” too. I’m going to use these on all of my future builds.
@@KJRaycing welcome! I was referring to replacing the Yerfdog frame with a Real kart frame like your builds 👍
Oh I got ya! I think both are going to be pretty awesome!
Just ordered my parts from Send Cut Send and found the RZR Carriers for the same price as you did !
Out standing! I better hurry and do a final assembly vid so you can see one start to finish!
there are heaps of 14 and 15 inch wheels for the 4x100 pattern, ie suzuki swift, civic etc, i have SSA knock off volks in 15x7 with 32P with 195/55R15 tyres which were both faily cheap, and also fit my trailer so there is ALWAYS a spare tyre!
Those would be sick! I don’t really have anything against car wheels. All of my other karts have atv wheels and I didn’t want to have to buy new sets. And dwt atv wheels are only 6-8 lbs so they are suuuuper lightweight.
Nicely done
Thank you! Cheers!
Love these videos. Such great info and great karts. Also for those not wanting to switch from 4x100 golf cart wheels work great too (it’s what I run on my kart) but I think ATV is the better option.
Thank you so much! I had a looong monolog on wheels that I removed… You are absolutely right and maybe I should have left it in there… thank you for giving the info to everyone in the comments 👍
Niceeee, and how many degrees can these axles be tilt?. I'm building a yerf dog spider box with a polaris gear box
Ahhhh I didn’t measure angles, just full travel! They’re good for 15” or more travel.
Buy a set of transfer punches, you'll discover many uses for them.
Thank you very much! I honestly didn’t know about these. But I did look up one for the size needed and it was $45 bones… that’s a lot to center one punch. I’ll definitely look into it more though and thank you so much 👍🖖
@@KJRaycing Google transfer punch set, they're $20 and up. I've been using a set from Enco (no longer around, but cheap) for 25 years.
Just went and picked up some, you opened a whole new world to me. Thank you!
@@KJRaycing I should buy the plans now to offset what you paid for the transfer punches.
What’s the part number for the bearings you use? Also, would you happen to know the part number for the axle or the year of the car?
It’s all in the plans man, check the description 👍

Hello my friend... I have to say how impressed I am with your setups! We well be ordering soon plans for sure... On three of our race buggies we went through 3 mounting changes on our rear hubs on the IRS housings. It's a twist of the setup shown here with the 2 tubes with the heims on both ends. The differences being in the front to the frame... 1) We went to a 1" i.d. tube about 3" in length with bearings and 3/8" AN bolts on each sides through bearings and brackets...
2) Then using 1"×2" rectangle tube welded to the 1" round tube ( the 2" width on top )... and moving to the rear...
3) We the took 2- 3/8" x16 tpi coupling nuts for rigidity and adustment, set the nuts at a matching angle inside the 2" width and weld solid to the rear center hub width to 2 brackets on the hub for centering.
Not at up picking your setup... just sharing what ELIMINATED problems and virtually all unwanted movement, by providing a more stable footing! Simply, where a picture is worth a 1000 words... The front the 1" tube, with the 1x2 centered, back to the irs, a v with the coupling nuts solid welded... and the heims on each side to a bracket on each side. May not help you any more, but if so, just trying to help my friend.
Have a good day young man!
Respectfully, Seth

Always wanted to build a kart similar to an old Honda Odessy 350.
I've watched 100's of I R S buggy builds but none with detail you show. Thank you for making it easier & more affordable.
Thank you so much! The videos were done at the request of guys who have seen my work so this is a huge compliment. Thank you again.
@@KJRaycing Your very welcome you deserve it. Keep up the good work.
Any plans available for a smaller kart?
Thank you. This is as small as I make it, but check out the Facebook build group to see the adjustable pedals and adjustable seat. My 9 year old daughter drives it just as much as I do.
V nice bro
On bolt circles you go edge to edge then add the diameter of the hole for more precise measurements
Nice!
Hey I've already purchased the tubing Bander the to be several other things from the same group you recommended but I can't buy the plans from you why
Use paypal if you are struggling with stripe.
Thanks KJ
Very impressed!!! Love your ideas as always. This helps a lot, I still haven’t found a outlaw that wasn’t way over priced yet in my area. Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication.
Thank you so much! Well now you don’t have to!! This opens it to any engine 😎
why dont you add a template to align the bolt pattern from the wheel hub to the wheel, instead of eyeballing. and add it to the cut sheets.
That is a brilliant idea! Thank you so much!
Transfer punch is the way to do the hub bolt redrill. I've done a bunch of them but its a lot easier that trying to use a Sharpie mark and much more accurate.
Agreed, I have since made a laser cut template and purchased transfer punches. Thank you!
Big Thanks KJ. I have been wanting to build a custom Vw /Motorcycle powered bug since late 90s. Not much info back then but looking through
a load of kit car mags and soaking as much knowledge from the streets shade tree mechanic's ( Every city Every town has one') Hell' Looks like
you fit the Title as well.
I grew up watching shadetree mechanics. I’ve always loved cool machines and tinkering in the garage, it seems I’m not alone 😁
Anyone know where you can find the 21 spline shaft at online?
The part number is in the plans so you can just search for it on google.
Yo!!!!! Just seen this one today. Thanks for the shout out!! So much coming this year!! This just makes things more accessible!! Meaning more Karts!!
Dude I love your build so much I had to show it off! Thank you for showing us new and could things we didn’t even know were possible!
what price is it?
Watch the FFAQ at the end of part 1 👍
What tooth rear sprocket did you use on your budget build cart?
It is a 56 tooth but I’m not 100% sure it’s the perfect size. It works well but I don’t know if it could be better.
@@KJRaycing awesome thanks! I am running a 72 tooth on a buggy of mine and it is super slow.
That definitely explains it. Probably easier on your clutch though. I had to get the 44 magnum clutch but man I love it!
