    This is why I love Aaron Blaise, he shows every single breakdown in his videos that other artists may not exactly show in tutorials. Painting with light overall has been a struggle for me but I think this and the series really helped a lot, especially seeing how colors are added on top of local colors

    I usually don't write comments, but your videos are precious. It's 1:1 like my drawing classes where my teacher explained everything right perfect but simple and so easy to understand. Thank you a lot, Aaron! You definitely deserve more attention for your work!

    I'm so glad I've found this. Most Photoshop painting tutorials I've ran across just talk about art theory and the artist doesn't say anything about WHAT they actually use to get things done - they just say "you need ____ because ____." You added the "and here is how you can do that in Photoshop" part! Thank you!

    I just started Photoshop CC this March of 2018 and I have learned many things. What more is that, I've learned these from you! Because you're enjoying what you're doing. I always think I'm a late bloomer and all that, but I realize that we all have our own pace and I'm always remembering that I have to take one step at a time, just like your process in painting. You're such a huge inspiration to me, Aaron! That's why I always continue to draw, because I know I can create great things like these one day. Love you, Mr. Aaron Blaise, and Bless you!

      Torchit If I may, I would say that any "cold color" such as blue will do for darkness. While "warm color" like yellow will do for lightning. In my opinion, there isn't just ONE tone that will fit for everything. It depends of you're composition and you just have to find the right tone that will fit in :)
      You should check out some text reffering to the "theory of color" and overall harmony such in the impressionist style :)

    • @AaronBlaiseArt
      @AaronBlaiseArt  9 років тому +71

      Simba Actually you can have warm darks and cool lights. It really depends on the lighting situation you're trying to portray.

      I have trouble choosing the color of the light when the thing I'm painting is supposed to be white, so, I use not white but a really light color, but when I add the light it doesn't light that much since it is already.. bright? same when I'm painting something that's supposed to be black and I want to add some shadow to it, what do I do in those cases?
