Keep up your amazing work and advice 👏, felt like I was lookin at a tutorial on How to dress elegant and achieve a hidden "not short" look. Lol "notice I didn't say tall 😅."
10:23 To me, the bare skin legs look much longer than ones hidden in a black pantyhose. It gives that extra bonus points in the brain: these legs look really really good! Like playing with an open cards deck. For example the subtle vertical shadow lines a slight stretched calve muscle give are really beautiful, and invisible when covered. As for the photo's, not only shoot at the hips, also use a slight tele-lens. 85mm equivalent looks much better than the standard 26mm wide angle of a phone. It means you should have a mirror with plenty of space in front, at least 5-6m.
As a 6'4" person, I don't need to elongate my legs, but I do pay attention to proportion and silhouette, so it's very interesting to see this from the women's wear perspective. The waist of men's trousers, jacket/shirt length, colour choice and blocking, pant leg width, break and taper, as well as footwear all change the visual of the length of legs for men. I had never thought about the rear view shortening the legs in heels, but it does make sense and I can see it as you talk. The angles on photos is also a key thing to work with. As a photographer, that's something I often talk about (using angles, not elongating legs) when I do workshops :)
Yes, indeed good points you make. It's useful for all to pay attention to the color combinations and cut of the fabrics we use, to benefit us. You like photography as well? Inadvertently, I'm slowly developing a keen eye to the details of framing my subject. The angle is the easiest fix that can make wonders on a photo. Thank you for sharing as usual S! ☺️
Great video! I’m looking forward to you next videos, these are really well made! I wear heels with pants mostly due to it being less distracting at work, and heeled boots with skirts to keep things more appropriate. I’ll have to find some neutral heels and boots, but it’s more difficult for darker skin.
I am only 5’3” and I have very short legs. However, wearing heels ( or any pointed footwear) is not a solution to making my legs longer. What they have done is deformed my feet so that I have bunions which have made walking painful. I am quite passionate that we need to change this mindset. It is ridiculous that in this day and age women are still deforming their bodies in the name of style.
Hi Sarah. Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear about your feet. I agree with you, heels are not the healthiest option out there and over time it most certainly takes a toll on us. My podiatrist is the first one to tell me to stop wearing pointy heels. And to this point I also want to add that there are non pointy options, the round toes I find most comfortable. In this video I am also showing options here for flat styles and most importantly color combinations to not shorten the appearance of legs. We all must adjust to what works for our own lifestyle. I hope you have some nice comfy ones you might want to share with us.

I honestly think sheer pantyhose also makes a woman's legs look longer. :)
Yes! Love them 😊

@@Chicquette yes. I’ve been doing photography as part of my job and semi-professionally outside of work for about 25 years.
