I live in Malaysia which is warm & humid the year round. I store my Amaryllis bulbs in a dark cardboard box lined with coconut fibre. I first wrap my bulbs in newspapers & keep them well separated as they sit in the fibre & store the box in my cool store-room for 8 weeks. After that, I pot them up.
Amaryllis your can leave planted and water normally actually. It grows new builds around the old one and has great leaves while it doesn't flower. I found them very decorative like so, and the next generation will grow more followers too

Very true sir....I left them in soil. N these become so finicky. Even slightest of under or overwatering and they rot n disappear. Soil throughout the year kills them for sure.

Which location in India? Did you watered them regularly during that time? Did you kept them under Sun or Shade?

I also experienced that. Im here in the philippines... they didnt bloom. I think they need time to be in the ref. If you dont have winter
