  • The Sphere is dark except Bono (having stripped off his leather jacket) on his hands and knees, the band bathed in orange and red. Bono begins humming, and then singing, maybe more praying, "Moment of Surrender" as the Sphere's screen illuminates in pink/red/orange hues to reveal U2's flag, streaming red smoke over the Nevada Desert (where just a few songs ago they dissolved Las Vegas before our eyes), as the sun rises, and the Edge starts playing one of U2's most known and beloved riffs, giving Bono strength to rise from his knees, as Adam Clayton and Bram van den Berg (filling in for Larry Mullen, Jr.) join in. And then U2 delivered an awesome version of "Where the Streets Have No Name," as night overtakes the desert and the star-lit sky, complete with a gorgeous Milky Way galaxy, glimmers in majesty above. Just incredible! It really was a moment of surrender, just letting U2 perform one of their absolute top songs, conceived when they were at their peak powers (Joshua Tree), wash over you as the Sphere's incomprehensible sensory spectacle overcomes you with the union of the song, the band, and the visuals. Quite a moment! So lucky to be there.
