No it didn't at all, this is a fundamental misunderstanding. In the paper he talks about "protective immunity" but in the interview he talks about infections. T cells do not prevent re-infection, they simply modulate the degree of infectiousness and severity of symptoms. He was pointing out that irrespective of the protection that T cells may offer (which he absoulutely acknowledged), this is already accounted for by the basic empirical observations of new infections and associated prevalence of disease. He probably could have made the point clearer, but it was pretty obvious to me.

An interesting case study is Nottingham. I'm a student here and at one point students here were the most infected population in the country a few weeks ago, I don't know anyone who wasn't either infected or who lived with someone who was and so were definitely exposed to it here. Cases peaked on the 8th of October with no additional restrictions and have been declining quickly and consistently since, clearly herd immunity was kicking in. Yet despite the constant and quick decline in cases over the last 3 weeks we are tomorrow going to be moved into tier 3. This is nonsensical, why increase restrictions when covid rates are falling? The government and scientists certainly seem to be involved in a crisis of group think and hysteria and can't stop digging their hole deeper and deeper.
The problem is that it’s easy to confuse correlation with causation. Infections shoot up, we react by locking down, then infections go down. We assume that lockdown caused the reduction. There is research that confirms that social distancing and lockdown measurements do reduce the rate of spread of infection. If you look at the death rates in Finland, New Zealand, Vietnam, Melbourne, etc, you can see that lockdown measures must work, if handled in particular ways. However, that is a very different statement from saying that implementing Tier 3 in Nottingham caused a reduction in infections in the university. The campus is conveniently self-contained, so I would be very happy to let infection spread there, as the resulting herd immunity should protect the rest of us.

The PCR Test kits are WAY over calibrated and thus too sensitive, so they pick up the faintest trace of any dormant coronavirus (which we all have). It would seem not, last time I was in Stockholm it was very busy, like most cities. Maybe that has changed in 2020 and it’s actually empty, I hear they all died of the Covid in March.....

An interesting case study is Nottingham. I'm a student here and at one point students here were the most infected population in the country a few weeks ago, I don't know anyone who wasn't either infected or who lived with someone who was and so were definitely exposed to it here. Cases peaked on the 8th of October with no additional restrictions and have been declining quickly and consistently since, clearly herd immunity was kicking in. Yet despite the constant and quick decline in cases over the last 3 weeks we are tomorrow going to be moved into tier 3. This is nonsensical, why increase restrictions when covid rates are falling?
The government and scientists certainly seem to be involved in a crisis of group think and hysteria and can't stop digging their hole deeper and deeper.

The problem is that it’s easy to confuse correlation with causation. Infections shoot up, we react by locking down, then infections go down. We assume that lockdown caused the reduction. There is research that confirms that social distancing and lockdown measurements do reduce the rate of spread of infection. If you look at the death rates in Finland, New Zealand, Vietnam, Melbourne, etc, you can see that lockdown measures must work, if handled in particular ways. However, that is a very different statement from saying that implementing Tier 3 in Nottingham caused a reduction in infections in the university. The campus is conveniently self-contained, so I would be very happy to let infection spread there, as the resulting herd immunity should protect the rest of us.

I don’t think he was expecting to have to give a lesson on virology within a few-minute long interview. There is no straight and simple answer for why Sweden is the way it is - their situation is unique to them just like the situation in South Africa is unique to them, etc. Several years from now it will all be a lot clearer what happened and why.

No one is a 'nuts' ' because they believe there's a better solution than locking down the entire nation when you could just protect the vulnerable and let people get on with their lives and protect the economy, protect people's mental health, their livelihoods and not mentioning the increase in domestic violence, alchohol and drug abuse, and suiced rates. Its time to look at Sweden model and figure out what they have done right and stop looking at it as an anomaly. It wasn't perfect as they failed in protecting the elderly so lots to learn. @James exactly! I’m no scientist but I learnt in primary school that the way antibodies work is your body MAKES them WHEN needed. Several months after you’ve recovered you don’t need them. If reexposed you make them then! How can experts not know this? Are we supposed to believe they forgot how the body fights infections? Or has the human body changed since I was a child and we no longer respond by making antibodies?

SERCO are now covering their rear ends. THOUSANDS of people have recieved texts saying they have tested positive that they have covid who have not even been tested!!
So what SERCO are doing to cover themselves because they have totally f*cked up their test and tracing is to just say you're positive of C-19 so you self isolate for 14 days when in actual fact youve never had it!!! SERCO managemnt must have sat down and said 'Better to just say the tests we have not managed to do and have probably been lost, is to just tell EVERYONE THEY HAVE THE VIRUS'

The PCR Test kits are WAY over calibrated and thus too sensitive, so they pick up the faintest trace of any dormant coronavirus (which we all have). Basically, the PCR Test is one big s.c.a.m... because it does NOT detect a LIVING virus nor an infection! But it certainly does increase scary numbers, which is the whole point!!!
