I have been so frustrated trying to make these templates for my graphic t shirt store and i found your video after watching about 10 previously. You made this so much easier for me to understand. I think i was having a hard time as i am used to selling on Etsy and its so much different listing items there and they didnt have these templates. So i just wanted to say thank you for helping me understand all of this a bit better. I liked and subscribed as i really like the way you explain stuff.

I don't think templates are a bad idea, but I think it's faster and easier to just search the item that you're selling with either the barcode or just a description. Next, click a listing that the keywords look good and sell similar. Then all the info is filled in for you. I skim through just to make sure it's accurate, but I rarely need to change anything. The template for your Levi's you'd have to fill in the title each time as well as some of the specifics because there are so many variations. I could see templates being helpful if you sell the exact same items regularly.
I find them handy for days where I list a bunch of similar items like jeans, hats, video games or media. The biggest help is having the description filled in for each item and only needing to tweak a couple of items like measurements or condition issues. I do use sell similar quite often though. I think that is by far the best method when listing a mix of items or something you don't list regularly. Thank you for watching and leaving feedback! Thanks for this helpful lesson. Just a thought: I believe I read that it is better to offer two kinds of shipping for an item. Ebay fees are charged to us sellers based on what the buyer pays for an item plus shipping. If I remember right, the idea of offering two kinds of shipping gives the buyer the option to choose a cheaper option. I always offer Retail ground/parcel if it is cheaper than first class and then I offer Priority in case they want it faster. I have not checked to see what my eBay fees have been if a customer chooses Priority bc my customers seem to choose the cheaper option all the time. Since you are mailing 2 lb items, might be worth looking at that Retail ground/parcel option.
ime - people just go with the first option - don't think anyone's ever selected the second option regardless of price - kinda weird.

As far as a store review, that's not something I've ever done. My best advice is to check the sell through rate of an item before you list it to see if it's something that even sells. Price items based on current sold comps. When taking listing photos, use a plain background with good lighting. Your 1st photo is the 1st impression someone gets of your item. Make sure your listing title contains all the basic info (Nike Just Do It T-Shirt Adult Size XL White ...) and use all 80 characters if possible. Those are the most common reasons why items don't sell.
Flat rate is cheaper than poly if over 1 pound. Plus free envelope.
Yes, I use the flat rate envelopes on all my jeans and offer 9.95 shipping on them which seems to be satisfactory for my buyers. It costs me slightly less than that, depending on which envelope I go with (padded, regular, or legal) -which helps with eBay fees.
I know folks say eBay charges fees on that, and they do, but if they take 15 cents out of that extra dollar, it still leaves 85 cent to go in my pocket.
I haven’t had a pair of jeans in any size that hasn’t folded to fit in one of those envelopes and the 9.95 flat rate is ample for all of them. I set a shipping policy for it so it’s easy to fill in when listing.

hi ya.. any chance you would know why is there NO DESCRIPTION BOX on the listing I'm creating? I tried using a template but after doing them - it won't add and so there is no description when I preview my listing. Thanks
That is super weird. I went into my templates just now and the description box is there on my current templates and also when I try to create a new one. I don't see anything where you could purposely/accidentally remove the description box. I wish I could be of more help. My best suggestion would be to refresh your screen or contact Ebay help. Hello, are the keywords you use and the writing of the product sheet different depending on the various Marketplaces on which you sell?
Some marketplaces have different requirements, but for the most part, everything stays the same or very similar. We currently sell on eBay, Mercari and District (Dibdit & Commons).

I would like to use the jungle scout api but at the moment I am looking into the subject of artificial intelligence and I realized that there are several ways to use APIs and so I would like to try first to understand what is the difference between using the jungle scout api in a dent custom gpt action and I realized that I can also use the JS api in a make scenario

@@chrisder1814 I'm sorry, but I don't use any sort of artificial intelligence when creating listings. I only sell on Ebay and District. I'm not tech savvy enough to know what half of the stuff you are asking about is. LOL. Surely there is someone out there in UA-cam land that can give you the information you seek. Sorry I can't be of better help.

eBay used to allow you to save a listing as a template right after you list/revise the listing. Any idea how to get to that anymore? It's a pain to create a template from scratch as I usually use an ended auction and then revise it to create my listings.
That is a great question. I have only used sell similar and my custom templates. I did notice when listing using the PC, there is a drop down above the item description box that shows use or create a template.
@@resell2ride Yes they added that when they took away the option to create a template for a listing you just made. This other 'template' you see is a description template. It just helps with the description where you can choose to add generic descriptions into your listing instead of the good ol copy and paste. For me, the most time is spent with shipping charges, and the item details etc.

I'm confused about when to use templates over using drafts, please help.
@sjeffreyw Templates are generic drafts that stay saved to your account. You make a copy of it to create a draft that already has the basic details filled in from the template. Say you're listing a bunch of hats. You can make multiple copies of your template and then fill each one in with the specific details & photos for each item. Saves you time in the long run.

@sjeffreyw Basically. The templates are just partially filled in already. Some people like to create listings and leave them in draft form for days when they don't have time to list. Then they're ready when they need them.

@cgc2300 Are you asking about my Ebay listings or my UA-cam content? Either way, I prefer my content and listings to be MY content. Not something a computer generated that may contain false information or a skewed view of reality. When I shop for items online, I want to know the facts about that item. Most AI generated descriptions read like a storybook. Personally, I don't want to read a story to find out item specifics and condition. It's just not for me.
