Purchased one of these a few weeks ago after watching this video. Ended up using it to pump out water quickly from a blocked manhole so I could rod and unblock without getting splashed! Great device 👍
I got one from Halfords to drain a bunded oil tank - ran at 7 litres a minute, filled 9 25 litre barrels in a short time - ideal tool for the job!
Had one for a while now and it is very useful for pumping water out of pretty much anything.
Looks like nice time saver. Thanks for another great video
"and if you havnt - go away!" made my day and its only 8:30 am
Nice video. Can't criticise the pump at that price, definitely worth having in the van. Not sure I'd use it for the toilets though, the vac is a lot faster and you don't need to set up a separate container either. Thanks for posting and keep up the good work.
I remember they sold these in Poundland years ago I bought a few of em thinking they might break easily but my first one is still going strong 10 years later!
Nice one man thanks
Great stuff always handy
James--Thanks for making the video
I bought an Aldi unit a few years ago and I love it .at over 2000 rpm? She pumps more pressure than my garden hose.
The number of siphon changes I do, I couldn't live without my drill pump. Had it for years. In the good old days I'd spend ages with a car sponge.
So you can use this to start a siphon with a hose?
@@zachjustman2942 you could do but the drill pump will drain the stuff out quicker.
Some of those hozelock attachments at the end of your pipe don't open up unless you have something attached to them, such as a sprayer. Yours seems to be open all the time.
Also I nice garden sofa set, I have the same set, GMTA.
I drained a immersion tank with one the other day, just put a cable tie on the trigger and let it go.
Been there before!
Go for scintex Self-Suction Drill Pumps they have an inner brass housing and gear mechanism so you can pump corrosive fluids through it without damaging the pump.
I use to pump water in on a first fix to save time on pressure testing.
James that is a brilliant piece of kit. 10 out of 10 well done thanks for sharing,
MB
No worries Mark, I'll send you a tenner for the comment as arranged! 😂
Love the Kamado! what a beast!!
So good I hit that like button twice.
Could you use for a potential water heater drain?
Hi
I noticed in one of your earlier videos you used magna cleaner kit to clean a magna filter can you use this on other type of filters other than magna clean such as a sentinel
Well, well. I have only just been using one of those to pull horrible sludgy water out of old in-situ horizontal CH pipes under an inaccessible spot - the kitchen units. What moronic housebuilder designs an open vented CH system in a f'n bungalow and also uses plastic underfloor heating pipe for the system? Changed to pressurised and I am in the middle of laying new copper pipes in accessible runs. Your vids have helped loads with this massive job. Thanks!
Nearly broke my wrist with one of these. Was emptying some of the water from our fish tank and my son pushed the hose down into the gravel🤣 pump jammed and yanked my wrist round with the drill!
Strong wrist....but WHY?!?! 😂
Great vid I’ve already got one..... somewhere 😂
I have one of these but used it once and haven’t since , a sponge and bucket is all you need.
How do you suppose it will do when I hook it to my 11amp 120v die grinder? Spinning at 14,500 rpm. Is it going to kill it? Or kill it?... (dead)? 🤔 Now I must know!
nice tutorial great
Could you use it to fill a sealed system? E.g the water pressure is low or in a high rise flat?
You’ve missed it’s biggest usage.... back filling heating systems that won’t fill up...saved me ages
Have you any links for that workbench? How practical is it for van and storing and portability etc?
Hi :) Can you pump water out of a running creek with this? And will it pump uphill like a ram pump? i only need to pump water from a stream to a cattle trough, about forty or fifty feet. Thanks.
Re the draining of CH pipes, this will be pumping air before it gets to the water, right? Will this damage the pump?
Thanks.
does it come with a mini crank incase the drill batteries are dead .. asking for a friend.
What's the best drill pump? I have a 40v drill and could do with a beefy one
Do you think it is worth paying double the amount in order to get the metal version? Thanks
Would this work for emergency water in a deep (100' residential) well?
Will it siphon once it's started? Can the inlet hose be a 25' garden hose?
Thanks for your video, I just my from Amazon. I am not sure which cordless drill to use,it said max 2800RPM,min 600w and I go to use it in may garden to water my vegetables , please help me to get cordless drill.
Big Green Egg - good lad!
Do you have to continue to power the drill or can you power and then stop but the water still continues to flow
Can this thing be used to pump out dirty water out of a deep well that hasn't been used in a while?
Brilliant, just scratching my head how to desolder a water filled fitting below floor for a different size rad change. Using a heat gun or blow torch was going to take forever. And sucking it out via a siphon tube was a yucky dud!
Perfect for CH F&E tank?
How high will it lift liquid is the standard question..
Good idea but what’s up with a transfer pump you don’t need to hold the trigger on the drill
Had mine for nearly 30 years, cost around a fiver from a car accessory shop, used it for all sorts of stuff, more latterly to empty/change the water in my aquarium - still works as good as the day I bought it.
Could you use it to pump air?
@@turnoff7572
No, it relies on the flow of liquid to stop it from seizing up.
I know you do a bit of oil work, have you used this to pump kerosene? Btw like the Big Green Egg👍
Is it self priming?
ok, the pump works well, but what is the demand of the drilling machine in time? What does the manufacturer say, that the drilling machine is for high demands in short periods, how does it behave in long demands?
Can this also be used to top up the pressure in a boiler where the water pressure is low?
No
good for taking someones diesel when needed for yourself
Got the milwaukee battery one. Bit pricey but makes jobs effortless
I'm going to check that out!
On commercial installs its a god send
What I really want is a reliable coffee maker from drill batts! If you get a sec join the *LIVE STREAM TONIGHT at 6:30pm* - *_Open to all_* Bang the🔔too! ua-cam.com/video/TRJJjTkdENw/v-deo.html
Ive got one but he runs on mountain dew. His my apprentice 🤣🤣
So this could be good for getting kerosene back through to the boiler after letting it run out... Especially when bleeding isn't enough to get it back down the line.
If you want to get covered in kerosene!
I'm in the process of buying one - after flushing my rads I'm hoping to refill them with nice soft rain-water from garden water butt!
🙈
Big G 👍🏻
can you use a drill pump to start a siphon? remove the drill once it's flowing?
Sure you can , sensible use of the tool I say
wish they had a larger one that can survive sand/dirt/gravel. When pressure washing dumb places, the dirt and grime piles up somewhere I don't want it.
...DOES THE MUSIC ALWAYS PLAY WHILE IT PUMPS?
Can't find it in your Amazon shop
is the pump suitable for transferring home heating oil ? or just water ?
Yes, use mine for kerosene.
James you lost your old drill pump because you forgot to "HOLD TIGHT" onto it :P
This occured....!
Just one question , how do you get the lumps down that small pipe .
Egg whisk !
Ok that might have been taken as immature. Possibly wrap a strong kitchen towel around the egg whisk and use it as a filter with the hose in the centre. Never tried it but could do the trick.
Great idea just keep your wifes hands of it when she's cooking .@@frederickwood9116
Apakah alat ini berkerja untuk oli 80-90w ???
Could you use it to drain down a system? Ours takes ages to drain down?
Yes you can. But there could be other reasons it's taking ages to drain.
@@plumberparts that’s great. We’re in a bungalow and each rad is on drop down legs. We’re also on microbore which I’m slowly changing for 15mm
Size hose?
DO NOT get the “PerforMax” Menards pump. Had two, both barely worked and heated up fast. A few sputters and they both died.
got a big enough drill there?
Im thinking of using one of these to fill my solar thermal system, do you think it would provide enough pressure (above 1 bar)
No.
Absolutely I use mine everytime to pressure my system to 2 bar works like a dream it does drian the battery quick though
@@garyherbert8242 2bar? Off a drill pump?
@@Nickbaldeagle02 yes done it for the last 2 years 18v drill. Use it to flush then fill the system pressure gauge goes over the 2 bar
@@garyherbert8242 blimey. Drill pump technology has moved on. My little drill pump is 10 years old and can barely pump 2 metres. I use it for draining toilet cisterns.
You can get them in aluminium, probably tougher.
I've not seen them in ally, but might be a good idea!
Where is part 6 of the bathroom refurbishment
Filming this week hopefully! Mad busy on other jobs. You sound like my wife!!! 😂
Hahahaha that funny
I used one of these and it broke the gear of my expensive drill - use with care
a wet vac will be easier most of time
Funnily enough I reviewed my wet vac in the next tools video!
*Don't miss this week's live stream* bang the notification bell too! ua-cam.com/video/TRJJjTkdENw/v-deo.html
“If you don’t like it. Go away”
LOVE IT!!!💦👍
Cheers bro!
Dude you just saved my f****** Nick I'm going out to get one now I am deep in the s*** and I mean in the s*** with a sore pipe I'm sure this thing was safe and some of the water out you are my go-to get man when he comes to plumbing
go away lol
Ah so now I can stop sucking the toilet water out
can you get away with using a combi drill with this?
hahahaha
Hammer drill? Come on....
Midget anybody??
Sorry my bad.
That was the most annoying video I’ve ever seen.
Dude it’s a stupid drill pump they usually don’t work because they suck and you made a seven minutes video.
They’re meant to suck !
Actually they fail to suck hard enough. And I can't figure out why they're called
