It’s not a friction issue for lots of us. I’m in relatively good shape, but I cannot do one sit up without that pain. All the weight of my body is sitting on that tailbone, and that is what causes the pain. It’s akin to trying to stand on just your pinky toe, no way it’s happening without pain. The way I get around it is just shifting my weight to the left or right so all the weight is on a hip bone, which while still painful, is much more manageable as it’s a much larger bone. But this leads to bad form and is harder to get the abdominal results you’re looking for.
@@JoeClark13 sure do hope, usually i have try already to keep going with the pain, but seems after 10 sit ups the pain comes, not as strong but just pain that will scare you if you broken it
My problem is more on the skin being put into pressure between my tailbone and the floor. I have a physical fitness test less than a month from now and I'm a bit nervous for it.
It’s common. I actually prefer to have athletes do leg raises, cradle carries, planks, and variations of each rather than sit ups. But if you’re going to do them slow and controlled is the way, faster you move more common it is to have that happen.
Great video. My only problem is I joined the air force so during basic training, I need to be able to do a higher number of situps in a minute to pass the physical part of the test...
Anyone has any recs for solutions/ know what’s going on when the skin near tailbone peels after ~10mins of abs exercises? (more than half of which don’t require me to lift up my hips e.g. russian twists where my hips and tailbone are glued to the ground) 😞
I’m 13 and my tailbone is literally sticking out making it impossible to do a sit-up cuz it hurts. I can literally feel my tailbone. What should I do? Go see a doctor? Or is it normal
Just tried this, and it didnt work at all, even if i keep the hips to the ground it hurts.. But could it also be bcus some people might have different sizes/length of tailbone? My fix was elevating my hips by putting a thick foam mat under my upper thighs, therefore not having as much pressure on the tailbone.
Yo i recommend doing low reps and maybe lessen the mat everytime u get used to it until u get to no mats your body will get used to it by time so just do it slowly
my tail bone is curved in a way where it hurts
My tailbone hurts so bad when I do any ab workout it’s like a bone pops out very painful
The same things happens with me also
Same with me
Ikr
Coccyx still hurts.
My spine hurts when I'm on a hard surface

I’m tripping, thought that was a dude 💀
Na, she just outlifts them
Lmao
When doing full sit ups is it better to keep feet flat on the floor or just heels on the floor as in dorsi flextion?

Thank You. I've been having this problem for years.
Not a problem ahppy to help.
but i have to do it in a certain speed cuz its for a fitness test
I *LOL* hard at this, most people will think its a meme, but its so correct !
I mean, I'm fucking balancing on my tail bone, just when I lie down.
why do hurting bone tail sit-up for me to hurt? (or setup... how you say it)
my back hurts when i sneeze or cough.
Whey bruh
Whey a minute, you making fun of me ?
@@JoeClark13 my tailbone is kinda sensitive whenever i do situps

I love you man your whats gonna get me to the nfl
Everyone be sure to take notice of todays troll attempt, he's doing big things!
Im serious man thank u
I was told that I just need more tissue or meat on that area but how do I gain mass in that area
I've heard people being told that, however thats not going to resolve the friction issue of your movement.
IT STILL HURTS ALOT
This is a life changer that helps me to deal with my pain and do better sit-ups. Thank you so much

Good chance what I laid out in the video is the reason. Slow down the exercises, avoid the friction.
It's pretty normal, I have the same case
@@andreaskanzian7831 so what did u do to fix it?
Bro am 13 too this shit hurts man
@@mytech2403 ik lol. I can do like 20 sit ups in p,e but I can only do 4 now :p. If I try to do more sit-ups than 4 it starts hurting like hell
Thanks 😊

Same
He's mostly referring to proper form. That's not the issue for people with a longer coccyx. Nothing we can do about our skeletal structure.
