- This was taken from Luther's 1987 Give Me The Reason World Tour. Luther was sick during this show, but you just can't tell because he was such the consummate performer. Backing Vocalist are Lisa Fischer, Alfa Anderson, Kevin Owens, and Paulette McWilliams.
He was quoted once about as a kid, he saw Dionne Warwick at the Apollo. He promised himself that if he ever made it, he'd make people feel what he felt like watching that show...congratulations, my resting brother, you succeeded a hundred times over...R.I.P...

This has me thinking that all of his vocals on his albums are probably the first take.
He doesn't screw up... ever. He did squeak on that one note at 2:31 or wherever it was, but it fit the song perfectly. He does look absolutely exhausted when he's not singing in this clip.
I saw this show, he came to Wash, DC. And the best part of all, he said hello to me. The thrill of my life!!!

this show was only broadcast on bbc tv, i remember watchin it. i taped it,lent it to someone and never saw it again........... there`s no dvd etc. but, i wait for someone to prove me wrong !!! RIP Roni ! x

I was at that concert and used to have it on video as they showed it on BBC 2. I remember is voive being a bit dodgy, but still a great, great show and a great version of this song. Much missed.

There's a DVD?!?! I too, have the Royal Albert Hall and the Live at Wimbley, but I need this one. Thin Luther doing his thing! Love this performance of WAIT FOR LOVE and if memory serves me correctly, the highlight of this tour was when he does the band and singer introductions, Luther and Kevin Owens just "murder" THERE'S NOTHING BETTER THAN LOVE.
Please somebody tell me how I can get my hand son a copy of this DVD?

don't know if i agree, he often doesnt sing the high notes in a few songs eg any love in a few live performances.. listened to the whole song and he's great throughout.

You cld tell Luther was a little hoarse here but dude colored it so well & sang around it to where you were like he shlda recorded it like this lol sheesh he truly is the GREATEST male voice
