Hook, Line, and Screamer is one of the best episodes of the show, it’s just fun all around. Plenty of good character moments, great comedy, Owen and Izzy randomly becoming a couple which I’m honestly fine with because they have a great dynamic, and a good little twist at the end. DJ gets auto-eliminated, which is sad but understandable. He’s always been kind of a side character but he’s definitely fun to have around, but it makes sense he didn’t make top seven.
Since we're approaching the end of TDI, and I know that you'll take a break with other shows before returning to Total Drama Action, so I figured it's worth mentioning now: There's a special in-between Island and Action that sets up the next season that should be watched before TDA. I only mention this because as few TDI reactions there are, there was a recent one that didn't watch it and was confused with a bunch of details. And this thing is about 40 minutes long. Just telling you now so you have this info in your back pocket for when you Do return to this series. Now to actually watch the reaction haha.
Haute Campture is an amazing episode. I love getting to see the losers one final time before the finale and especially like that Katie, Sadie, and Noah get the most focus. Katie and Sadie since it’s really their last focus… ever, which sucks because I do quite like them. And I like that Noah gets a good amount of focus, really cementing him as the cynical, sarcastic, queercoded know it all that’s well liked by the fanbase. That said, Leshawna’s elimination sucks. Nobody even meant to vote for her yet she’s gets basically cheated out. That said… recent development shows that it could’ve been so much worse. See, it was known for years that the original intention was for it to be a fashion challenge, but for unknown reasons, that was changed at the last second. That said, we recently found out *why* Leshawna would’ve been eliminated. She was going to win the challenge and give her immunity to Gwen to protect her friend… and then Heather would convince Gwen to betray her. That is a thousand times worse. I don’t care if it was supposed to be a Survivor reference, it’s a lame and unjustified elimination that also would’ve taken any and all likability away from Gwen, who’s supposed to be the main protagonist. While this elimination sucks, I’d take it over the original plan any day.
Jonis think about it like this, if Heather and Duncan are the final two and the jury votes for the winner. Duncan would win because no one would want Heather to win

Trial by Tri-Armed Triathlon is an interesting episode. I like the character dynamics and Gwen and Geoff’s friendship is fun. In fact, it’s a reference to the original pitch pilot. See, back then, Trent was more of a joke character who everyone inexplicably hated for being too normal and Gwen and Geoff were supposed to be a couple, which was changed in the final show when Trent became *somewhat* of a more serious character and Bridgette was made more important. That said, the greatest mystery in Total Drama history, folks! How the heck did the votes go down in this episode? Gwen and Geoff are bottom two. Neither of them voted for each other. Leshawna said she voted for Heather. That’s *three* against Heather. But somehow, Geoff is eliminated for being too nice. It doesn’t make *any* sense. Honestly, I feel like he should’ve made it to next episode at least or even the finale, but nope, they put the elimination order before logic and Geoff is inexplicably voted off. I don’t get it, nobody really does. And it also results in only *one* member of the Killer Bass making the final five.
the reason geoff was voted off was because at this point everyone still believes that the finale will be decided by a jury, and geoff would be impossible to beat like that.
I have no idea how Wawanakwa Gone Wild’s voting works. Gwen should have immunity, yet she’s in the bottom two, implying she not only didn’t get immunity, but also got a vote somehow? I don’t get it. It’s one of the more forgettable episodes of the show tbh. And Duncan and Heather’s alliance is never even brought up again. Weird. Izzy leaving is sad but it is what it is, she had a good run and I understand everyone voting for her for their own personal safety lol.
It does seem strange yeah but small point to make: Chris never said the winner gets Invincibility. Only a meal. It's a bit inconsistent, but the winner did get the reward promised. The ONLY reward promised for her.

Noah was supposed to be a minor villain in the first season theirs a video about it on UA-cam but Noah gets his redemption in season 3
