Without a doubt I would come from Boston with a friend and my sons. I go to Manhattan every month as I am a member of the New York Token Kai. I collect antique Japanese swords and am a Bruce Lee fan from the beginning. I am also 63 and was involved in all the hype back then. Still waiting for the real 4K release!

@Charles Damiano I lived in Brooklyn in my early years but grew up mostly in Queens New York around Ridgewood were I saw Enter the Dragon at the RKO Madison on Myrtle Ave in 1973 I was turning 10. That's also where I saw my first Bruce Lee film Return of the Dragon with Chuck Norris who was mostly unknown to audiences at the time.
I recall the stills and the posters and many other wonderful memories of a different time.
I remember wanting to see Sony Chiba in The Street Fighter but couldn't get in but I had better luck with Black Belt Jones.
Those were the days. Thanks for sharing the videos and your wonderful memorabilia.

You mentioned that you knew Bruce before his unfortunate early passing...I, like many others, known him in 1973 after the shock of his passing, which somehow established his legend afterward.

D ghazd I found out from a new paper clipping I seen in the NY Daily News newspaper. I just seen him in FOF and CC prior while he was still alive and I had aspirations of meeting him one day and then the new came and I did not believe it at first. I could not imagine that he died and I was devastated when I finally realize it was true! See you Friday my Friend! Long live the King of Kung Fu!

We are lucky to have known him at a time when some needed a hero so different from the standards and in whom we recognized ourselves.

I’ve been a fan of Bruce Lee since 1966 when I first saw him on the green hornet television series, Not only was he a captivating figure but he was very exciting to witness and I became a fan ever since. I was 13 years old when I found out that Bruce Lee had died But did not know him well enough to feel sad about his passing. The strange thing is that now I feel sad knowing that he is no longer here with us. We are grateful that his legacy lives on in his films and in his writings. Thank you so much for your comment we appreciate you! 🙏

I first saw ETD in the Philippines in '73 when they did not count ticket sales or have showtimes haha! I had to stand in the back heel to toe with the excited crowd and then scramble for a seat when the movie restarted, what a memory in the beginning journey of becoming a life long fan! I get that sense from hearing you and Hector speak and can relate to your guys' stories and e
nthusiasm! Thank you Charles for your dedication and work sharing your life as a collector and the legacy of the greatest martial artist of not just the twentieth and twenty first century, but of all time! Awesome Birthday tribute for the master! Such a vast collection you two have! Hard to believe time just keeps rollin. I remember first seeing the 25 anniversary Enter the Dragon as a kid. Now that was almost 25 years ago. I started to know Bruce Lee when he had been gone only 25 years and now it will soon be 50 years. You guys have double the history with enjoying Bruce Lee as I do. You guys got to enjoy the early days which I missed because I wasn’t born yet! Once again, great tribute from the best Bruce Lee honor students! You guys really do honor him and show such appreciation! I enjoyed this episode! If I have the opportunity to make it to the 50th anniversary double feature you two put on then I’ll try to be there. That would be a once in a lifetime for me. I never got to experience the true theater experience of the 70’s or see a Bruce Lee movie in the cinema! gum floors with the smell of butter dripping from our hands as we
powered down our popcorn and fountain drink soda's to the beat
of the Classic Enter The Dragon Motion Picture Sound Track and
were totally mesmerized by Bruce Lee on the Golden Screen .

Hi Charles. Fantastic video. Great memories. I remember seeing enter the dragon at the Loew's delancey theater ,back in 1973. And I remember having return of the dragon on betamax, I still have my super 8mm sound film on enter the dragon and my laster disc movie of all Bruce Lee films. Plus my DVD and Blu -ray . Going to sit down and read my copy of fighting stars. Once again thank you for the memories , fantastic video. P. So glad I saw this film in it's initial release, it was an event. It was the first and to this day the loudest, longest audience reaction to a film I've ever seen! While I had seen the trailers to Bruce's other films, this was the first one I saw. "Fists of Fury" and "Chinese Connection" I saw as a double feature later before seeing "Return of The Dragon". Did you also go to the theatre to see the 1976 re-release of Enter The Dragon as a double-feature with Hot Potato with Jim Kelly? Because that's when we FIRST saw ETD.
The fly in the ointment was having to sit through the awful Hot Potato first (Sorry Jim Kelly...RIP), But MAN when ETD started, that was the "magic" moment for me as well. It was SO great! Anyway, take care, Charles...and thank you guys for taking me back to some awesome childhood memories as well. We were blessed to be born in the perfect era to enjoy, and reminisce with all of this!
Runaway Train I missed that double feature in 1976 I saw ETD in 1973 with When Cotton Comes to Harlem and could not wait the it to end to see ETD which as you said was pure magic and electric! That must have been nice. (I'm a Chicago raised Boriqua BTW, hermano) I just mentioned the '76 offical re-release because WB put out a professional looking ETD/Hot Potato poster for it...which you may or may not own yet, IDK...and part of my response was when you mentioned ETD re-released in '79...So for moment I thought, WOW, 1979 too? Because in Chicago we didn't get an official WB ETD re-release. We were robbed, Man! LOL, Now I'm thinking these official re-releases were maybe REGIONAL, and not national?? Yes brother, we had theaters everywhere throwing in a mix of Bruce Lee and Blaxploitation films, double features, triple features and even marathons! I remember the ETD/HP combo with HP considered to be Jim Kelly’s worst film but to be honest I like watching it because it’s from the “period” so as bad as it is it carries nostalgic power lol! Have you lived in NY? We sure had fun back in the 70’s as teenagers staying in the theaters all day overloading on these films! We even snuck in the theater lol! Such great times growing up with this genre, that’s why Charles and I are involved with this project, it’s sheer nostalgia and the love for the era! We appreciate you following Charles Channel and if you can’t get enough of this stuff then please subscribe to mine too if you haven’t already. Legends never die this is why we honor the greatest of all time still to this day 50 years to get credit that should have been given doing that historic run is still and though I shake my head on such a lack of understanding and respect of sheer brilliance and true genius it's moments like these and uploads that keep the memory and the spirit strong to this day to honor not only the greatest martial artist ever but a great humanitarian and as I said earlier one who has an understanding of both life fighting and human beings no prejudices no shunning no turning away even in an era and time when martial arts wasn't fully understood or the histories and culture of the countries that they come from all that changed when this great humanitarian opened the doors for those who wanted to learn regardless of race regardless of whatever the whole point was to teach pass on and to help one become a better human being and have a better understanding of others and life in general to be hard working driven focused goal-oriented things that today's generation need now more than ever such a man existed once can never be duplicated never replicated but only learned from and only honored day in and day out for the once in a lifetime brilliance that he gave in his short time here this is the mark of greatness and excellence this is why legends never die for those who make us strong positive impact will always be remembered the way they lived not the way they die Father and son both and again Charles well done keep the Spirit Alive and strong the mark of the dragon,🐉🐲👍👊

Hey Charles!! Man this was truly awesome!!! I remember going to see ETD at the movie theater in 1973. That's all everyone in our neighborhood was talking about. However, sadly before then in July it was in the newspaper that Bruce Lee had died with the pic you just showed with the white top on!! Hector was right!! Going to the movies back then was an event and let me tell you at the Mcvickers theater in Chicago (they moved it to a second theater because of the crowds) the place was up for grabs from the very first scene in the Temple with Sammo Hung. Enter the Dragon is in my top 3 movies along with The Godfather and Jaws!!! Great video!!!

Great episode guys. If you can pull off getting an old theatre to play the 35mm film, I'd definitely would plan trip to NYC. Would be like going into a time capsule and reliving my youth in the Bronx where every Saturday we'd go watch the triple feature karate films. We had 3 theaters on Southern Blvd and 163rd St( Hunts Point station-6 line, and Westchester ave Simpson St station- 2 line. Loews Boulevard Theatre, Star theatre, and Art theatre). I lived 2 blocks away from main strip Southern Blvd. There was also the Prospect Theatre which was 2 stops from the Simpson St train station. Also loved all the blaxploitation films. 3 the hard way was a classic( Fred Williamson, Jim Brown and Jim Kelly). They actually set up shop and filmed a scene on my block. They had the trailers and used the Catholic school auditorium for meet and greet. Unfortunately, I don't think it made final cut. Who could forget Mandingo with Ken Norton, lol. Please let us know of date if possible. Also maybe have same prices on entry and popcorn for nostalgia, lol.

What a superb way of celebrating Bruce's birthday. And what wonderful collectables. As Hector said its also about preserving these items and as long as you both have them, then they are safe and secure. I've seen the Enter the Dragon standee on ebay a couple of times and its always been very expensive. Perhaps one day. I been a Bruce Lee fan since 1978 when I first saw him in his last movie, The Game Of Death. Even though I only saw 20 minutes of the real Bruce Lee in that time frame when he was fighting different opponents inside the tower, I was impressed with his fighting skills. When I went to the Lowe’s theater in Jersey City, N.J of April 1980 yr. I was mesmerized by his fighting style abilities. When ETD had ended and I left the theater with a sensation that l felt reborn by watching his incredible images. Best wishes to your channel!👍🏼

Great episode on what is also my favourite film of all time. Question for Hector. You mentioned that you saw the uncut Enter the Dragon in 1974 which included the monk scene. Was this Bruce Lee's original voice and if so does the full scene with Bruce's voice still exist?

Hello Mindin, actually I saw it in Chinatown but the entire film was dubbed in Mandarin with English subtitles so Bruce’s voice was not heard at all with the exception of his war cries.
