One of favorite channels now, it's like hanging out with an Italian family before, during and after dinner. It's wholesome but also real and we get to see how Girl with the Dogs got her spiciness.
That's Italian~! ;) :)
Not an artist??? I can practically smell the bark on the tree in the painting. I love how genuinely humble he is, but he can't deny his talent. ❤
Nonno is very talented and a humble man. His art is absolutely fabulous! Thank you for sharing.
Shout out to the mom. She kicks ass in the kitchen as well. Nonna taught her well
I love the wedding photo. They are so beautiful.
Nonno is a real artist and so humble too!
I'm not Italian, but I love the tradition & authenticity of these parents/grands. They are the ppl to learn from & they exist in every ppl group. Wisdom, common sense & discernment creates a foundation to live by if we listen & receive. ✌🧡🙏
This channel is one of my best discovers in 2022
Veal Milanese! Very common Italian dish. And yes, many Italians immigrated to Canada, South America (Chile, Argentina, Venezuela) and of course the US, especially NY (where my parents ended up because other family members went there before them). My father had a beautiful vegetable garden every summer too. And delicious fig trees (he brought the saplings from Sicily). He too would cover them up in the winter to prevent them from dying.
3 years ago was the last time we visited his hometown, Bronte, which is just outside of Catania. We brought home bags of olives from my uncle’s farm, pistachios (some of the best in the world!), and also a couple of artichoke saplings. We planted them in my yard. I live on Orange County, CA, so very similar climate to Sicily, and those plants thrive! I only wish I was able to bring fig saplings.
Your Nonno is a wonderful artist!
Yes, in Argentina we call it MILANESA, they are so delicious. I live in Arizona now but when I was raising my children in California I used to cook milanesa for them and they continue with the tradition with their children.
As always, the food looks amazing, and the process is so much fun to watch. To see your Nonno's art, though - what a treat! It's incredible! And the family pictures were wonderful, too. One of the best channels on UA-cam, along with Girl with the Dogs - a treasure. Thank you!
Truth, I love the wholesomeness of it. :)
Omg that painting of the cranes is marvelous! Nonno sure had and still has bountiful head of hair
That's what I said. ;) :)
Nonno absolutely deserves to take more pride in his work! Absolutely amazing!! Hopefully all the love from us strangers will help convince him he IS an artist❤
I love watching and listening to them, I learn so much about cooking, gardening, and life in general ❤️
I enjoy your videos, they bring back memories of my Mother and Father. My Mother and I came from Supino, Frosinone in 1954. My Father came in 1951 and started working.
My grandparents came a similar way. My great uncle sponsored my grandfather to come from Germany. Then my grandfather sponsored my grandmother. Both came through Ellis Island prior to the rise of Hitler after WWI. Loving this channel. Don’t care for veal but those veggies look amazing!
In Argentina, we call it MILANESA. So delicious!!!
Nonna and Nonno are so beautiful....humble and talented, full of love and mutual respect ❤
That veal and those veggies look delicious. And I think your Nonno's art would grace any of the finest museums. Such lovely memories in their stories and photos, too.
Your family is amazing I wish I had a family like yours
Yes, & a family period would be nice. :)
Im not Italian, i love watching them , we have basically the same traditions, im Portuguese we also do gardens etc , my parents imagrated to Canada when we were children , 49 yrs later Canada has been good to us , big virtual hug for everyone ❤
Awesome traditions ❤️ ❤️
Thank you for sharing your grandparents with us. My papa immigrated from Ireland to the US just after the great depression and I miss hearing his brouge when he would tell me stories as a little girl.
Edited to fix spelling
Your grandparents remind me of my mom's parents (Nana and PawPaw). Cherish the time you all have with them and listen to all of their stories.
You can/will learn a lot from them, I agree! :)
Nonna and Nonno's channel is HEAVEN!! Yummy
Just the southern part of Italy is warmer ..the North sometimes is like Canada! Most Italian in the country are from the south.
Omg that painting with the cranes? And flowers is gorgeous!!! (Not sure what kind of birds) beautiful!!! 😍
Beautiful Rustic Hot Roasted Salad and garlic. Love Nonno’s stirring motion, no words spoken and instantly a Spoon appears..... my dad used to to that. Niagara Falls, Fruit land ...so beautiful, minus the tourists of course. I didn’t know you could grow figs in Canada, interesting. Yes Nonno is very talented artist, ...and not bad in the Garden department either.
I didn't follow any channels until now....amazing knowledge....keep up the good work....can't get enough!!
I am so enjoying your lovely family. Really enjoyed all the family pictures. Thank you for sharing.
Vanessa - you have the most incredible family. Thank you for sharing them with us.
When I was young I used to beg my grandmother to make these. If by some miracle there were any left, the next day we would make sandwiches with them using roasted peppers. I miss my grandmother now.
I love watching your family. I miss my grandparents, y’all are lucky to still have them. Thanks for sharing.
Just the sounds alone are just wonderful to listen to.......

I bet that meat mallet is very old. Loved seeing the photos and hearing the stories. By the way--Nonno has gorgeous hair.
It's beautiful in Niagara falls, so why not go there?! :) Everything's good he says! :) That's Great~! :)
My great grandma was from Sicily and she made these stuffed artichokes that were so good! Did your family ever make that? I'm unsure if it is made all over Italy or just mainly in Sicily.
Nonno is amazingly talented 🌷
Mom is an absolute beauty 🤩
He's an artist!!

Nonno is precious.
Le cotolette!😋😋

i love this channel but do you guys eat there every night or do the once a week family dinner?
Once a week 🙂
He says "Canadas been good to me," but I think this he would've succeeded in Haiti or the Congo. He's been good to Canada.
It’s called Wiener Schnitzel (Vienna Schnitzel) and is originally from Austria
They are Milanese veal fettine. And are from Italy.
Hi nonna, Nonno,Maria,Vanessa and Julian, another wonderful meal served, Julian I am curious about what occupation do you have when not filming “ the spicy Nonna channel “? Love Katherine xoxo
Oh my gosh Vanessa you look a lot like nonna beautiful lady's, vivian Oklahoma
I love these people ❤❤❤...Italians are made of Amore❤❤❤ I would recommend using Polish or Greek salt...Sifto brand not the best! Just saying 😮
Fun Fact: Tomatoes are fruit. Because of the seeds.
♥️
This is an amazing channel! But, what does "sponsored" mean? Your great grand father had to "vouch" to get more family in?!
And if using a cheaper meat like round steak, after frying put in oven on low to make tender…
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Vanessa,
How many time have you been told you look like your grandma when she was young?
Do you have relatives here in Australia?
How do you clean a wood cutting board? I have one but I never use it because I don’t know how to clean it 😂
Hello when you get a chance can you show your NOnno Winterize his fig trees would love to see how he does this!!! Best wishes!
There will be a live tomorrow at 9:30am EST about exactly that! Also a video coming soon!
@@thespicynonna Can you repost the video of Nonno actually covering his fig tree??? Why did you take it out it was awesome!!!! Can you repost if possible!!! Thank you! Best Wishes!
Uau🥩🥩🥩🍖🍖🍖
Go to any Restaurant and try to find a better meal! Good Luck. Might be a little longer than you think!!! ❤
Fettine panate 👏🏻😋😋😋 buone
I stopped using veal, and switched to pork loin cutlets, just cannot get good veal anymore, its all stingy. Looking ofr grass fed and finished but good luck with that.
What, no garlic, in the veal ?
Now we’re supposed to find a wife with some chick with 100k of students loans, credit card debt, a credit score of 650, can’t cook, but asks every night “what are we going to eat for dinner”?
Where is Nonna ? Why is she not cooking?
Your nonno sounds like Vito Corleone (De Niro, not Brando).
Buuuut, just to be clear:
Fried Veil is not italian.
Its austrian food called "Wiener Schnitzel". 😬
