  • In this video, I review TWO KEY POINTS that I've earnestly been trying to make with my "electrical" videos:
    (1) The term "single phase" should be replaced with the term "single cycle." It doesn't matter whether your basis of thought is "practical" or "theoretical." BOTH perspectives will inevitably lead you to the term "single cycle." You can mentally resist, but eventually, logic and rectification will prevail.
    (2) The transformer's secondary coil and its attendant conductors are "illusory." That is, regarding current flow, what is "actually happening" is NOT what our eyes and frontal lobes are telling us. We "see" a Transformer; and we "see" the Service-Entrance Panel"; and we "see" the three main conductors (extending from the Transformer all the way to and through the two Power-Bus bars). When we "see" this, we think of simultaneous "multiple" actions. In essence, though, this is NOT true. If you think it through, you will discover that you are dealing with only ONE thing: one coiled conductor. And in that conductor, at ANY given moment, current moves in ONE direction-and ONE only.
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT an electrician or a professional in any of the trades. Nor am I a teacher; I'm not qualified to teach ANYTHING to ANYONE. I am NOT giving ANY sort of instruction regarding the hands-on practice of electrical work. My goal is simply to share ideas that I've carried with me for decades. UA-cam affords me the avenue through which to share them. Also, whenever doing ANY electrical work at home, TURN OFF the power FIRST.
