COACHING Coaching Effectively
One of most commonly asked questions I get is "What is an effective coach?"
I put it down to what I call the 3 L's, Look, Listen, and Love.
Look, Listen, and Love.
An effective coach will look at what's motivating the individual learner or the employee.
They really look and try to understand what it is they're trying to achieve.
Secondly, effective coaching is about listening.
It's not about telling and yelling. It's not about imposing a particular philosophy on a learner.
It's about really listening to them and trying to discover what it is that they're looking for from the coaching experience.
And thirdly, it's about love.
Now I know that sounds a little corny.
But we know that the best coaches love two things.
They love the learners.
They really love seeing a learner get better at what they do, seeing them improve, seeing them achieve their goals.
That means so much to a coach.
And secondly, coaches love coaching.
They love the experience of changing lives and making a difference in the way people think about themselves, in what they do, how they act, and how they can achieve.
Coaches love coaching.
That's why it's such a wonderful profession.

코치들은 학생들을 사랑합니다.
코치들은 학생들이 자신이 하는 걸 더 잘하게 되는 걸 보는 걸, 발전하는 걸 보는 걸, 자신의 목표를 달성하는 걸 보는 걸 정말 좋아합니다.
그것은 코치에게 정말 큰 의미를 가집니다.
두 번째로, 코치는 지도하기를 좋아합니다.
코치들은 사람들이 자신에 대하여 생각하는 방식, 하는 일, 행동하는 방식, 그리고 목표 달성 방법에 영향을 미쳐 삶을 변화시키는 경험을 좋아합니다.
코치들은 지도하는 일을 좋아합니다.
