Appearance wise the show focused on Regine but Erika had some impeccable suits. She had the best style in my opinion. That purple coat and scarf she wore in the very last episode of the show is still one of my favorites.
The OG Friends before Friends came along. Can you imagine if "Living Single" was on NBC and lasted 10 years, from Queen Latifah to John Henton. They all would be killing it in the Hollywood game.
We need to stop embracing Hollywood and all that rubbish! They were amazing and they have our respect! Hollywood is an evil place, Hollywood would have killed them. We need more independent sitcoms away from all that Hollywood mess and we need to embrace them! We cannot expect 'killin' it in the Hollywood game ' , winning Emmys and Oscars or being on Netflix.
You do realize that a big reason why friends did so well and why they lasted so long is because of the overseas fans. Living single might be a hit to people in America but this show won’t do well overseas. The thing with black shows, the creators created them to cater to black audience. Friends however appeals to Asians, Europeans and Africans. There’s a reason why the show is still making 1 billion usd a year till this year because of reruns. Because the show itself is good.

Friends did not appeal, Friends was and is shoved down our throats. There were tones of sitcoms 10,000 times better than Friends. 3rd Rock From the Sun is a clear example and the sitcom did not have the same "appeal" because it did not have the same promotion! Just for the record, Britney Spears also made millions and sold over the world despite being a mediocre Micky Mouse Club singer, we are not talking about quality here.

Living single target demographic are the black Americans. So the comedy would be best if you know black American history. A big portion of living single jokes isolates everyone else while friends jokes is very relatable. Blame it on the writing. It’s very clear that living single creators wanted to create a comedy for black people. So that automatically excluded other people. Why do you think friends still being watch till today? Why do you think people who weren’t even born when friends aired enjoy the show?

My favorite episode was the Halloween episode when Overton fell down the stairs an nd scared the crap out of max as a Halloween prank I think that was one I their best episodes.
