Sessions at West 54th was an American television program that featured music performances, and was in some ways a pop music variation on the theme set by the long-lived Austin City Limits, though the featured musicians represented a number of musical genres. It was called Sessions at West 54th because it was taped at Sony Music Studios on West 54th Street in Manhattan. It was produced for public television syndicator American Program Service (APS) (now American Public Television, Boston) and was carried on many public television stations. It first aired in most places on July 5, 1997, when it was included in the Saturday late-night lineup of stations covering 85% of the country. After the program ended, an edited for commercial television version also aired on the commercial Trio cable television network.
It was first hosted by radio disc jockey Chris Douridas of KCRW in Santa Monica, California, while former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne took over hosting duties during the second season and John Hiatt was the host during the third, and final, season.

Los Amigos Invisibles is a Venezuelan band that plays a blend of disco, acid jazz and funk mixed with Latin rhythms. In addition to releasing six critically acclaimed albums, the band is lauded internationally for their explosive, live shows, spanning nearly 60 countries.
Los Amigos Invisibles formed in Caracas, Venezuela in the early 1990s as an answer to the lack of variety offered by the "rocker" and dark acts that flooded their city's theaters and radio waves.[citation needed] Instantly becoming Venezuela's only "dance band," they began a crusade to convince the owners of forgotten discothèques that dance is not only salsa and merengue and that electric guitar does not have to be "Punk." Offering their friends a more enjoyable outlet for partying, Los Amigos Invisibles quickly reinvented the club scene in Caracas.[citation needed] With its original line-up still intact, the band comprises Julio Briceño (a.k.a. "Chulius", vocals, percussion), José Luis Pardo (a.k.a. "Cheo" or "DJ Afro", guitar, songwriting), Armando Figueredo (a.k.a. "Odnam", keyboards), Mauricio Arcas (a.k.a. "Maurimix", congas, percussion), José Rafael Torres (a.k.a. "Catire", bass), and Juan Manuel Roura (a.k.a. "Mamel", drums, percussion).

It is interesting how Amigos Invisibles were aware about what was going on in music by that time without internet. I mean, internet was not available in Venezuela in 1999. Thank you for posting the video.
By the shear stroke of coincidence I was able to see one of their first shows in Los Angeles in 1997. Space Land/Silverlake. It was a Monday night. Mostly local beginner bands. They came on 2nd. It turned into a rave. The other 2 bands scheduled refused to play. The club went all night till 2am. Then after party till noon. ON A MONDAY NIGHT!
