@@a.dkutzbarber Kibble is junk food though bro. They need high quality protein for development. Substitute kibble with raw muscle meat, organ, veggies and rice. Just don't over feed. He should finish his food and be looking for more. He's not still Hungry. It's just a sure fire sign that he's not being over fed. It helps prevent bloat. I even boil water, poor some in and mix around to add moisture content. Let it cool a bit first of course. They prefer warm food. It simulates freshly killed prey. He rarely ever drinks from his water dish. His body is absorbing the moisture and staying hydrated.
He'll be happier, calmer, easier to manage, and just more satisfied over all.

You have good info. People go overboard with the diets and it hurts the dogs. Too much protein and the dog will have liquid poop. High protein also means you need to up the water a ton.

I don't feed a lot of protein but I switch it up from chicken to beef. I also ad chicken liver. Veggies. I mix it with his kibble and I try not to over feed. I want to switch from kibble over to rice. Not much rice , just a filler. It's better than kibble that's for sure. I think I'm doing it right because he's still looking for more when he's done but he lays down and falls asleep within a few minutes. I let him lay around for an hour before walking him to make sure his food is digested. It helps prevent bloat.
You are right I was feeding my pup high protein and it did the same thing you are talking about fam when I told the vet what I was feeding him he told me change the food but to much protein can be bad for your dog

Have Staffy pit mixes for pet's & home protection no breeding, Micro's for breeding, & been lookin at these Xl's for awhile they'd make perfect protection & breeding replacements for the now older non breeding Staffy pit mixes. They all stay in their own lanes no cross breeding would've ever been considered. Of course I wouldn't be using micro's for protection that's a ridiculous notion to even imply dude lol.

This is really interesting I believe it is valid for all large dogs. Regarding running and jumping can you be a bit more specific how and why is affecting the dogs. I know dogs are not cats but all dogs do jump especially if they are not overweight.
My female blew out her CCL at 11 months of age. I chose TightRope surgery for her treatment. All treatment options will take months to recover and require movement restrictions until the knee is completely healed. I agree with everything Raul has said in this video. Before my pup's knee went out she was really wild. She would get the zoomies and literally tear up the backyard. She did a lot of jumping up on the couch and even higher onto my bed. Worst of all was play time with a flirtpole. I didn't see anything wrong with all the rough housing but obviously it was too much for my pup's developing joints. The info in this video is so important to be aware of.
Just got back from a show with my 9 month old and a few people were telling me I should start supplementing with raw to pack on weight.

My blue tri bully is extremely picky and won’t eat kibble, is there easier way to get him to eat it? He wouldn’t eat it at all so I started feeding him raw and after watching this video I definitely wanna get him to eat kibble because he is putting on weight a little too fast.

My question is for my new puppy should I switch to the high energy since it matches the the protein to fat ratio you provided. Again new to the game so forgive me for any ignorance I display. I recommend as close to 20/20. But if Pup displays any tendon or soft Tissue weakness reduce proteins to 13%

Good question. When the eat raw they get glucosamine and chondroitin from the cartilage they consume while eating the animal. In my kennel it’s chicken quarters. It’s all there

How about raw lamb mixed with veggies and vitiamins? I had my bully pup on taste of the wild, and just recently found a natural health store for dogs. They're raw is fresh and locally made. My pup is 3 months going on four months in a couple of weeks. He weights 37 pounds. Just wanna know what is best feeding him the straight raw that is mixed with veggies, or the kibble? Its confusing.

Hey I got a six month old American bulldog John style he is 61 pounds my father raised him on pizza so when I got him I put him on ground beef liver and acana dog food I've noticed some nuckling on his front joints and I was also walking him like for 2 or 3 hour walks can u recommend the right amount of food and exercise for my dog

I’m hoping you can answer a question for me! My family and I brought a 5 year old American Bully into our family almost a year ago. He has a corn allergy and we were having trouble obtaining food near us with no corn, having to online order at ridiculously high prices. We started making his food homemade but now he has lost quite a bit of weight! We were making it with generous amounts of russet and sweet potatoes, rice, chicken, beef liver or chicken liver (we rotate every other batch), carrots, eggs and shells, peanut butter, beans/peas, and oatmeal too. Are we maybe just not giving him enough of it each day? You seem very knowledgeable about this breed so I’m hoping you can at least offer some guidance. He’s been on this homemade cooked food since the summer and now has loose skin and hip dents… We tried to just eat the cost of the special food but he won’t even touch kibble now! I don’t want him to get sick and don’t know what to do as the only vet in the area isn’t even experienced with his breed or dogs of his size and just recommends going back to the kibble that he won’t eat.

tj diddy Good question. I have had a few people ask on this. Let me clarify. I consider Victor Puppy Kibble to be the best Kibble for pups. However, I feel Raw is a great option due to its health benefits in pups and adult dogs. I understand that not everyone can do Raw due to time and or money and therefore either only do Kibble or a combination of Kibble and Raw which I have done in the past due to having so many dogs. In fact I like doing Kibble during winter months mostly and Raw in the summer for our dogs as I feel the Kibble thickens them up for winter and due to the cool weather we don’t run into skin issues as we would feeding Kibble in the summer. It is up to the breeder which way to go with this. I’m giving my best advice as to each option.
