A bunch of these words I have never even heard of in my life.
Nvm, after the first 20 I’ve got almost every single question correct.
Same why would they give us these words? I guarantee majority people in the military won't even know these words unless they into reading the dictionary and constantly looking at words.

Improving Word Knowledge means increasing exposure to a wider vocabulary. In practical terms, this means reading more; it means taking notes when you come across vocabulary you have never seen; and it means trying to practice new words orally. If you can speak the words in your normal discourse, you have clearly remembered the word. Do this rigorously over several months, paying attention to the finest details, is what really makes the difference over the long-term.

African so I’m going to the Military (active duty) and I studied for 1week 1/2. I passed the practice test with a 44, but I wasn’t satisfied so I studied the core 4 subjects and passed. Algebra , Math Comp, English, Read Comp.

Congratulations to everyone taking that step towards your fears....I have failed but I'm watching these videos and I checked out the asvab but from my local library.I scored a 22 overall and You have to get over a 31-36....they average all your categories and give you one score.Some areas I did great...but that average came back and hit my chest like....dang....so keep at it....this is my second time and I'm going this week.Never give up.Im getting into that airforce...it's my dream

For all of you who wants to join the Military, congratulations, I got two advised, definitely study for ASVAB test and get a higher score than 50, you could get any classes that you want such as computer, electricity, nursing, mechanic, engineering, that can last for 6 months or 18 months, and 2nd and don't feel intimidating. Almost useless when compared the actual test.
WORDS YOU SHOULD REALLY STUDY are contentious, cajole, decry, unpretentious, communique, peruse, admonition, embody, erratically, devout, fervently, adage, inept, perilous, and emphasize. These words are straight from the practice test. If you think this test is an adequate method to peruse then you will likely fail the word knowledge portion.

Just took the ASVAB yesterday. My AQFT was 27 = 88 GT score.I need a 110 GT .FYI: I have been studying for 3 month 5 hours a day at least.word knowledge is very difficult .mostly was with no context.algebra section was hard as you can imagine.don't go to MEPS unless you are 110% sure going to get 110 GT score which will qualify you for all the MOS / jobs in the service.also you can negotiate the sign up $$$ with recruiter. Took it for the second time last week . Got 92 GT . I must wait 90 days. In order to retake it again. I need 110 GT. I did not go to school in U.S.. And English is my 3rd language .sonits extra harder for me.study Both math and both English portion.you will do great .good luck see ya next 90 days 😜.

Thank god I pass my ASVAB test on my 2nd attempt I almost gave up but Mr David gave me that courage to stand and face difficulties, he helped on with some tips and tricks for the ASVAB with study guides thank to him I got good grades dear friends I will recommend you working with him I got the key in passing the exam

VOCABULARY NEEDS TO BE HIGHLIGHTED
Im taking my asvab next week thursday. And Im checking out comments that might be helpful . Wish me luck . ( my recruiter tells me about a girl who had just grad. Highzchool and. Took the practice test and she got 25 . Like me who graduated wayback 2015. And got the same score the girl does . My recruiter tells me to study again cuz i have a potential to pass the actual test . ( his words ang motivating me)
Some of theses questions I didn't know what word they were talking about
would be helpful to highlight the word searched for... Some sentences have 2 different words in them, which makes it confusing imo as well

I’ve been studying for the ASVAB for a month now. My book helps me a lot. At first I couldn’t pass my practice test but as I studied my book i passed with a 67, I went up to MEPS and took the ASVAB. I ran outta time on two sections and that’s why I got a 31 which is passing but I’m gonna go give it a shot again and I’m shooting for a 50 or 60

I scored a friken 10 on the practice test I need to study hard and drink lots of water for brain growth and eat nutricianal meals for the brain also going to hit the treadmill hard
It's not so much the word knowledge that my problem because I can memorize the words as I go over them a few time...hard part for me is the math and I need to get a 50 or higher to get back into the military.

The word and math knowlegde is my biggest problems on the ASVAB. I do pretty good in the arithmetic and paragraph phrasing.

I was terrible with word knowledge, I came a cross this video and I’ve been learning a lot out of the 64 questions I got 50 correctly. Thank you so much I will be testing next week and I feel more comfortable this will be my 4th time so wish me luck!!

i wish they underlined the word they want us to see and when the sentience comes up we can have a better idea of which word we need to think of but to me this is a easier subject 4 me to handle I am worried on my mechanical comprehension over my knowledge of word play

I highly recommend buying the asvab for dummies book the first time took i this I barley got anything right 2nd time after 2 months of studying i only got about 8 wrong

I got a 34 on mine because I only have ged I only qualified for for reserves but if you have a high diploma you only need a 21 for active duty

Honestly just brush up on solving math problems long hand. I practiced that for a while and it paid off. As tough as it is the vocab isn't really something you can really study for

This is even more difficult than the ASVAB. Lol don't use this to study else you'd lose hope. I'm good with words and could barely get these answers correctly. The ASVAB ain't that deep trust me. Took the Pre-test from my recuiter and scored a 62, which is a ST (skilled techinical) of 96, but i need a 101 for the jobs I'm interested in. Taking the main exam next Monday 02/11. justasoldier1611 focus on math arithmetic reasoning paragraph comprehension and word knowledge. Those sections are what determine if you can get into the military

go to the nearest recruiters office in your place and they gonna let you take a practice test if you failed they gonna give a links that would help you score higher than the last time

I am gonna be honest it common sense I don’t know how but these questions are likely nothing now like I scored low taking a practice test when I saw this or other different questions the answers just came to me I had no idea what the words were at the time but now just seeing so many different root or prefix words I didn’t know they just kinda came to me
