@thegaz-man as a retired UA-cam tragic, I couldn't imagine how long these took to make. Will definitely share around as this is a must-see for Crows fans.
This is a great video, 2013 was one of the better years of my life in my graduating year of high school, I had gotten back into footy in mid-2012 after losing love of the game and 2013 was the first year in awhile where I watched every game and was as invested as I am now. There's an almost odd fondness I have when I think of that year , especially with the Geelong game (never yelled so much when Wright kicked that goal) or the North game which I remember fondly, the year was a waste but I remember it so well, I can't say the same for 2018-2022 where it feels like a big blur of rampant disappointment and every game felt the same (with 2020 being insufferable).
Thanks! Yeah, I get nostalgic about 2013 as well - due to a health crisis in the family it was the last year we all went to the footy together. That North game was great, got a video in the pipeline about a Daniel Wells goal from that match
There is only ONE way to reverse the club’s curse and misfortune and that’s a good old fashioned exorcism. The footy God’s have denied us at least 3 - 4 more Premiership cups and several Brownlow medals, etc, etc. What Blight and the Team did in 97 and 98 raised the eye brows of the Footy Gods - we have never recovered since. Brilliant analysis as always 👍
@@thegaz-man The Club, and its supporters, have gone through enough pain, agony, despair, death and whistle-blowing maggot bias (free kick Hawthorn, anyone?) to last several generations. It is time to lift the curses and relive the good times again. I am confident that Nicksy and the boys can deliver in 2022 and beyond - a new era of success. Get those voodoo Priests lined up. 👍
It was easy to see why the Crows lost the 2017 grand final. They thought they were a shoe in, had it in the bag, only had to go through the motions against the lowly Tigers, who shocked the life out of them with their desire, tackling and game plan, by the time they woke up it was all over.
Absolutely. Honestly, scoring the first two goals if anything seemed to make the boys feel more overconfident. That Matt Crouch tackle was key. No one fought for him, just let him get crunched. Turning point of the game, that.
The sad thing is we're still making same list management mistakes like resigning Sloane and Crouch and playing mchenry and Murphy over more talented players
As much as I love Ned for his energy, he's given below average numbers. Crouch was an odd one as well - like either play him or don't. Anything less than 18 games out of a fully fit Crouch is a waste, so I hope he can begin 2024 as he ended 2023. As for Murph and Rory, I think we needed to keep them. Rory provides valuable on field leadership in an inexperienced midfield, while Murph posts surprisingly good numbers when fit. At the moment I don't see what other small forwards we could play over him and Ned.
Our midfield looked so much better without Sloane on the field just watch round 24 game after he got subbed off the midfield played so much better. As for Crouch I think should have waited till after the trade window before signing him and I think we should of have looked at trading in an experienced mid like Sydney did. I also think we should have used O'Brian as trade bate.
Once again an outstanding overall presentation. I assume however that calling Steven Trigg a quite brilliant CEO was sarcasm? He'd be lucky to be considered competent let alone quite brilliant.
He's a great player, and has been really unlucky with injuries. But considering he was the primary compensation for a Brownlow Medal winner in Dangefield, Adelaide haven't got the best value in that trade, especially as they turned down chances to negotiate.
I'm a total Fogarty apologist so I've gheIa misplaced faith that he'll come good, but there's definitely the beginnings of a 32 curse starting for sure.
@@thegaz-man im glad you can admit it.. but dude do a series on that tiger dynasty... youd get so many views bro. Anyway i did enjoy this.. as i live here and have witnessed this all unfold in my backyard.. keep it up mate!
Interesting question. It took him a couple years to get the Tigers back up there, so I'm gonna guess he makes finals in 2026. If they can't make finals with him at the helm, they never will
This still stings after watching highlights of the 2015 season and what could have been under Phil. Really thinking this Ben Keays goal debacle will galvanise us for 2024 making us actually put time into kicking straight for all players. Probably a good time to do an update video after draft 2023. My hope is pick 1 Leake/Wilson pick 2 Demattia/Schoenmaker pick 3 Goad/Green. Possible the hoodoo started with the Tony Liba point in preliminary final and now we have suffered enough. I hope our young players like rach ranks and pedlar light it up and hopefully our state made ruck in Goad comes our way in the draft we could go on a solid finals run.
No doubt in my mind Walshy could have won us a flag. I'm planning on doing a follow-up sometime next year on the rebuild, and how it resulted in the top scoring side of the AFL...and how we still missed the finals. For me, the Seven Year Storm (as I called it) started with that Monfries goal. That shit was proper cursed. Big upside for Crom. I've got them 5th for 2024, with a cheeky finals run, probably ended by Collingwood bc they keep breaking our hearts
@@thegaz-man Great idea we have a real chance of breaking alot of recent losing streaks personally Geelong at GMHBA and Collingwood MCG would prove to the afl world we deserve the spot in finals. We have the making of a great side that will play 5 years of solid footy and Matty Nick's may not always get it right but putting Dawson as Captain and midfielder was similar to when Walker was skipper under Walsh. I think its been the ability to actually draft talent and recruit solid players like Keays and Murray for free plus North not taking three first rounds for JHF which turned out to be Rachele Dawson Rankine that has to be mentioned if crow's make a dynasty, fans will remember the great potential we found scattered throughout the league in what 4 year's one of the most aggressive rebuilding due to the list we had aswell I thought we would be down bottom for a decade. Great content Gaz keep up the solid work and take your time no doubt it will be great can't not be with highlights from recent times. I think we either finish top 6 with highest points for or we finish 12 to 8 with missed chances and poor accuracy infront of goals. But we will see hope the previous is true.
You deserve so much more recognition for this series. Top notch stuff mate
Wow! What a fantastic series! Brilliant stuff mate. 👏
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it

@SleepyEdd ahh cheers! Thankfully my workload has got so much more efficient since I did this series!
@thegaz-man a job well done, dude. Keen to see more vids 👏
Im glad you mentioned the AFLW team... they have been a shining light in a dark decade
They've been incredible. Bec Goddard doesn't get enough credit for their success as well
I am once again letting you know how grateful I am for your hard work on this!

This is the funniest video I've ever seen. Can you make more like this.
As long as Adelaide keep giving me pain, I'll have content, so it looks like I'll never run out

I like the idea, if it worked for the Boston Red Sox, it should work for the Crows!

Damn, having to mention the AFLW kinda hurts..
A Premiership is a Premiership, even if two of those flags were won in awfully played matches.
The 2019 flag was fun to watch, though

Well, to quote the judge of Trigg's case in 2012, guilty as charged haha
What is this shade against Milera just because he is injured when he played he was brilliant

@@thegaz-man I agree but you said that he is like David McKay and Ken McGregor and I have to disagree
Yeah, I was a bit harsh on Milera there
Is the number 32 also cursed??? Danger Good for all but left, Troy Menzel, Darcy Fogarty??? (Well still unsure about him)

cool
The shittest take in all of footy might be saying that the crows should get rid of Wayne Milera.
I never said 'get rid', only that these 100 game players don't seem to accrue value or develop as fast as at other clubs, at least in my view.
@@thegaz-man Strongly disagree regarding Milera, but other than that I really enjoyed the video. Great work.
