Hi Leona, from my work in this area, it could be suggested that the Map actually represents the PROCESS - or the high level overview of What must take place, i.e., head north from here toward town X .. then, toward town Y ... then, arrive at town Z - while the PROCEDURE is the detail which explains how to proceed with the directions of the PROCESS, i.e., arrange for the use of the company car - record the starting mileage - utilize the GPS for most direct travel roads - abide by the local trafic laws, etc, etc.
