This was helpful! Thanks, dude! I made a detailed video about the "Sneaker Route" ascent/descent into Coyote Gulch earlier this year, and I was wondering how easy it would be to ascend this route rather than descend it. Looks pretty easy. I would be sketched out ascending the Sneaker Route without a rope--and ya never know if one will be there once you get there--so if we go back and do the full loop, I think we'll drop in via Sneaker Route and ascend here.
@@TenDigitGrid We went in to Fortymile Ridge TH and hike to Crack in the Wall. Explored Coyote Gulch and then scrambled back up Crack in the Wall. I did once by myself and then guided a number of people from our hiking club in and out of Coyote Gulch on a day hike. Backpacking was going to happen for them. It was quite the adventure getting all those people down and back up that crack! Then they complained about hiking through the sand coming back to the TH. I did a climbing video with Dana and Cindy Hollister here near Montrose and we had to climb down a similar crack to get to the climbing wall. It wasn’t as tight or as long, but a good reminder of the Crack in the Wall experience. Probably won’t do it again and it was fun seeing you going down through that narrow crack. LN
Heading back to Coyote Gulch again, this time entering from crack in the wall. When you traversed the third crack (or any of them for that matter), did you need to turn sideways, or were you able to walk through them normally (shoulders to your sides)?
Hahahaha, watch it again later once the 4k version is done processing! Also if this gave you anxiety just wait for the video of the climb out of the canyon.... 😂
@@Fishaholicboy I think I may have seen you posted in the Pakayak Facebook group, welcome to the park! It's been too long since we have been on the water. Been traveling for the holidays. Hoping to get back out on the Pakayak in January. Need some paddle time!

@@lynnnorthrup8914 Sounds like you had a couple of great trips!
Iove this place.
Definitely one of our favorite backpacking trips. Climbing down the crack in the wall was so much fun!
@@TenDigitGrid Yes. I’ve been twice. Great memories.

@@christopherhartman6919 definitely needed to turn sideways
And people thought going through the lemon squeezer on the AT was tough
Never heard of that, will have to look it up!
That crack in the wall gave me anxiety 😂

Did you come back up the same way or loop around to a different place?
We looped around. You can see the full trail report with maps here: www.tendigitgrid.com/d/222-coyote-gulch-backpacking-crack-in-the-wall-loop
