So, I understand for marketing purposes that all companies want to post their highest numbers on output especially with the amp dyno. But, unless you're running a 14v system with 14v batteries and a 16.8v alt people will never even come close to seeing these numbers. I rest at 14.5 on a cold day max. I think people and customers would absolutely love to see more people test their amps at real world voltages. I purchased a CAB 1600.1 and it's a freaking monster (This amp on the dyno is more beastly and probably better quality) but all the big numbers that got people talking about the CAB were achieved running at like 15.5v....like come on people anyone that's gonna buy that amp will never see 15.5v at full tilt unless their car gets struck by lightning. If companies want to impress us and draw us in to purchase their amplifiers they need to start showing us real world power numbers at realistic voltage.
think the cab could beat this? I do agree about letting us see what this thing will do at lower voltage.thinkin about tryin 1 out
I think at .5 the Cab beats it. I was running my Kicker 1500 while I was waiting on my cab replacement and the sound pressure difference between the 1500 kicker and my CAB at .5 is insane. I would have to say it has to be putting out at least a 1000 more than the Kicker it's just night and day. Down side the CAB at .5 is a power hog and battling heat to keep it from dying like my first one did is kind of a pain.
Ya kicker imo has always had good power if it's night and day to that Dammm! Dealer told me guys on the skar site are running this thing at .5 for hours and it takes it. I'm a give the skar a shot guys going to give me a little break on 1if it's weak I'll try a cab.

DamienJess Herrera You can run it at .5 because with box rise you're going to probably be seeing anywhere from 1.? ohm to 3-4 ohm realist power. Same with my CAB I'm wired to .5 but if I were to take a shot in the dark with box rise I'm probably mid 2 if not 3 ohms at full tilt.
I bought this amp to replace my Memphis m class 1100.1, I had to beef up my wiring but this amp does great, it's not power hungry either, my voltage doesn't drop below 13.3 and I'm pounding my 15's. for the price of 229 bucks you can't beat the quality and the power.
After 2 years, how long did it last? Cuz mine only lasted 7 days, and now I'm in limbo with skar and out $260 so far.

I just bought one of these about a year ago and its at 1 ohm. It never gets hot. Maybe gets a little warm. I dont understand why everyone says there getting hot. I run mine hard and never had any issues.
laynetta deckard I don't have a skar amp but I know all the videos on youtube show they put in work, only, I think alot of people just buy amps, put it in there vehicle without upgrading anything, and having shitty electrical or not enough stuff to get the amp up to par on its performance, I've seen amps get hot and go into protect because of little power gauge wire and not having enough juice

this is honestly one of the best amps ive owned. the only thing that ive done to it is removed the cover from underneath the amp and put 3 cooling fans to keep it nice and cool

I’d do the same in SYDNEY Australia... I just bought & received the VXF 15”. You get much more RMS wattage per $ with Skar Audio. Not everyone has $1200 to by a 1500W rms subwoofer. Australia is a rip-off

Had my skar rp 2000 amp for 3 years now not a single problem as long as you have proper electrical this amp will perform and last!! I currently have it pushing my zvx 15 at 1ohm and it slams!!

NEVER trust a dyno video from the company that makes the amp... Dont get me wrong. this amp is decent. it has a high quality feel . never gets hot ... but its no where near a real 2000 watt amp. it may do a solid 1500 rms dynamic with the right electrical ... but the 3100 rms dynamic and 2400 rms certified numbers in the video is horse shit. will never do that . ever. unless you buy two and strap them lol .

Id like to see a resting voltage test at 14 to 14.4 where a normal car would be at... a .5 to 1 volt definitely makes a difference!!

This amp is very good I run it all day long turned all the way up and it never even gets warm at 1ohm I even ran it at .5 ohm, 😱 and I know its not rated for that but I did it just for a few hours with gain turned halfway up it got warm but not hot at all and that's doing test tones and bass boosted songs . check out big d wiz he does an amp dyno on it as well and it came out about the same so there not lying about the numbers
Now we know u lyin.. i keep a steady voltage of 14.8 and my voltage doesnt even drop and i have gain a quarter ways up and 2 fans on the amp and it still gets warm without the fans i could cook breakfast on that bitch
@@holdDeez1993 better check your ground location. Under powering and/or insufficient ground with heat these up fast. They are power hungry and you better make sure you supply it or you will have nothing but problems
Ive bought TWO skar audio 2000rms amps. Both stopped working within a week on a 1500 watt rms system. I call they don't want to ever answer the phone, and they will not cover warranty. They both just randomly wouldn't turn on one day both look brand new because they are. There stuck in protect mode and I've tried everything to fix it and they won't look at it or cover anything. such a shitty company
it's ur cheap shoty wiring.. mine runs fine, it's got plenty of power @2ohm on 1/0 ofc 99.99% pure copper power and ground on stock 145a alternator.. shit I spend more on my wiring that I paid for the amp.. never had any problems running any amp I've hooked up.. weird how you've had problems with 2..
you people probably running lower that 1ohm and don't even understand.. or ur alternator can't keep up, or give it constant required voltage.. check the resistance of your ground from where it's mounted and at the amp

If that was the case why would amps be advertised (and tested) based on watts:volts? @Almighty Rage, if the amp is measured to put out its advertised power at 14.4v, you running it at 12.5v (again, assuming you dont get voltage drop due to your alternator not being able to keep up) would see only 75% of the rated output.
have same amp hooked up to kicker comp r 15s and the amp was getting pretty hot after about 15 mins of playing

Ty S kicker comp r 15" subs are 800 watts rms per coil so even if you wired it down to 2 ohms the subs require 3200 watts rms to power properly meanwhile this amp does about 2000 rms at 1 ohm and over 1400 watts rms at 2 ohms, in sure this amp is more capable than what it's rated for though, I plan getting this amp for my kicker comp R 12" wired at 2 ohms, my sub will be getting over 400+ watts rms more power but it should be fine if I'm careful, it's a lot better than my 300 watts jenson amp giving only 150 rms to one coil on my sub lol, I don't play it hard since it's so underpowered and will clip, my amp actually gets pretty warm when my sub even flexes a little, anyways this skar amp I plan getting will be perfect!
i just got one yesterday. its a cool amp, but i like how the sound stream rubicon 2500 hit lower bass which is what i had before on my fi sp4 15. i have the gain set at half way on this one, and i really dont like it being that high. but for the price you really cant go wrong.

I used to have a kicker cx1200.1 half way and sounds pretty loud i decide to upgrade with this and i have to adjust the gain almost all the way up to get sound,did someone has the same issue??

I just bout this amp for my Alpine Type R 12. It's in a small box (vented) but I don't know what hz the box is or how to tune this amp. For now I just have everything turned down an I just download this subwoofer test app. By ear it sounds like it's running best from 30hz - 70hz. The Subsonic I have at a little over half way and the dB switch to 5dB. I don't want to blow my sub quite yet. I will be buying a Skar ZVX 15" in a few months. I just don't want to pay a shop to do the tune. Any tips are appreciated!

I have this same amp I know it has 0 gauge terminals but I just used 4 gauge and folded it over it's working good but I'm not getting full power from it my voltage stays above 13 I have 2 deep cell marine batteries voltage is good I'm going to run 0 gauge soon but I don't think that's the problem cause bigger wire is only going to make it draw the power faster

I couldn't keep it running stable at .5ohm. It ran great never got hot on 1ohm and pushed my 1 15" sundown zv.5 great! I tried running .5 ohm but it would play real good pushed continuous power for about a good 4-5 minute song. Go to a second song or past 4-5 minutes it'll go into protect mode every time. Really great amp for the price and output for sure though!!

got mine, has good power.. lacks adjustments, need a dial for bass boost.. my JL 500/1 slash hit the lows better, I believe because the bass knob actually controls the bass boost on the JL. it's just gain control on the skar.. I might return it for the skv2-2500.1.. few better features and lower response feq.. I did order a 3way crossover, I'll see if that makes me happier... if not I'm moving to the skar SKv2 section.. I want an upgrade from my JL amp.. not just in watts, I want clean deep bas.. something was definitely off with what I'm use to.. but for the price it does have the power! I'm only running two 10s @2ohm, there 500wrms ea. 800max.. the JL just sounds better at lower/mid volume.. but the JL lost quality at high volume because of under powering..

Uhh when are u guys going to have more of these amps? y'all been out of these amps for about a month or two now.my two skar evl 15's have made it home in Texas and need to be powered up.i could by a hifonics amp..........but no i dont want my speakers left with a stepdad amp. They need their father......and if or when y'all release him,i hope he has the same power shown here. What i really think happened here is this amp is damn near powerful as y'all top of the line amp and now u guys might raise the price or degrade the amp. SKAR im begging u to please release the amps. I've done extensive research in the past two weeks lookin into amps that i can get real good power out of at no more than 250 bucks and this amp fits the bill!!! So the longer u wait to release the amps the more money you're missing. Just think about how many other amps have been bought while u guy's fuk around and snort powder all day..lol...Release the Sleeper!
Jay Bee I got the this amp when they first came out and it got down to little under -20 deg. and gave me problems sent it back on warranty and they were cool about it got my new 1 last week and I can for sire say its just as strong as the 1 I had so they didn't make it weaker. that's so!thing hifonics does that's why I switched to this amp I'd buy of again tomorrow.👍

Big D Wiz does a lot of app dinos and he got to know his Ad1 very well. He says that if the wattage when doing the test doesn't do a slow climb and more just jumps from zero to the number like if you notice how I did and the dynamic verse test that there are things that the amplifier didn't like about the test and there are things wrong on the in side I'm looking at the reviews on Amazon and people saying that this amplifier goes into protect a lot I was just about to purchase it until I saw that Dynamic burst test and saw how I jumped from 0 to 3100 without doing a slow climb and I trust Big D Wiz when he says it if it doesn't do a slow climb there's something wrong and with all the comments on Amazon saying that this amp goes into protect I'm just saying
The slow climb in wattage is on the cert and uncert tests. The Dynamic test you expect to see a burst number, as shown here.

If your wiring can hold safely this amp can do .5 like a boss...it will validate warranty though..I would stick to .1ohm...this things puts out plenty at .1

Ok so I bought one of these over a year ago, and within the first month of having it, it would go straight to protect mode on volume level 10 or 11. I have been doing audio installs for over 15 years. I gave you guys a couple calls and the customer service was kinda rude and I was told that I would be receiving a new amp and I have still yet to receive it.. it's been over a year now.. thanks for nothing skar. Trust me I will never buy anything else from y'all again.

Sounds like you miswired something..it happens. Not their fault though..my guess is you trying to run it at .5 ohms or smaller than 0guage wire..these amps are amazing..everything skar is straight up amazing..you are wrong..that’s ok though, I know the truth..✌🏼

This amp banged!!! For 7 days... Went in protect and wouldn't come back out. Mind you, I was only running it at 4 ohms cuz I was breaking in my woofers. So not even using half the power! Contacted skar on eBay that I bought the amp from. Got it refurbished for $189.00 and added a $21.99 warranty plan. After it went in protect, I was told I have to ship back on my dollar. This was a Saturday. It costed me $45 for box, bubble wrap, and to send it. I wasn't happy. Then Monday they say oh my bad, it hasn't been 30 days yet and we can send you a label. After I already sent it. So now I'm into this at almost $260.00! And have nothing but a bass knob hooked up. Had to install and take out. All in 7 days. So alot of time and money wasted at this point. Plus I got 5 kids and I had to save for a few months to buy this. And I even got $35 in lanyards and decals for my truck to support this bs from Skar! I bought refurbished thinking what could go wrong already has. And big d wiz from UA-cam told me not to buy it cuz it isn't reliable. But I didn't listen of course smh. So now I'm back to using my 2 channel 1000 watt sony xplod amp from 2002 at 2 ohms that has NEVER let me down. Which kinda says alot. If they make this right, I'll remove this comment. But based on interaction with skar on eBay, they're not gonna do shit but rip ppl off. So buyer beware. Don't ignore buying this like I did. I about had a panic attack cuz I've never purchased a product this big on eBay before. And I really wanted to like skar. It puts out the power, but for how long? From one bass head to another, don't make same mistake I did.
Update: skar made it right. Refunded my shipping costs. And sent me a nice amp. And seems to work Great. Still goes into protect from time to time, but always comes back out of protect. 6 days installed so far and holding up good. But I feel the inevitable is coming. Everyone knows they have protect issues and won't come back out of protect. But Jordan from Skar is a good dude and will take care of ya!

Is it best to use dual reducers for this amp or just regular reducers for the power wire and ground wire like a single reducer I have four of these and 4 XS power 3400 with 4 skar evl 15s

This amp is total garbage I have it in a truck that previously had a Rockford amp on it with two Rock for tens barely used the truck amp took a shit in less than 3 months when I drive it maybe twice a month, do not waste your money on this trash
