I have recently picked up a Danish Christmas calender show from the 90s called Pyrus which is about nissen who work in the Royal danish archive. Pyrus accidentally erases Christmas from the history books and Pyrus and his friends Gutenberg and Freja have to time travel throughout danish history to reintroduce Christmas to Denmark.
Wonderful video! I live in Sweden where we have the same tradition. Many “julkalendrar” has become classics fondly remembered. In fact, some Norwegian calendars have actually been broadcast here as well, like “Nissene på Låven”. I also enjoyed “The Julekalender” on a friends VHS tape!
It is just the right amount of information and very informative. I recommend continuing to make videos however you want because you did a good job. Nice work.
Forgot the *"Julefergå"* (1995) from TV2, that was an attempt to recreate the success of ''The Julekalender''. ua-cam.com/video/dpfXjicYS30/v-deo.html About the ferry MF «Svelå» and the shipwreck «El Mañanas» on the bottom of the sea, underneath the ferry slip. On the ship wreck there is 3 cubans, a gold treasure and 2000 Poinsettia (Julestjerne blomst) that supplied them with air.
The more I watch Jul I Blåfjell and Jul På Månetoppen, the more I realize that they are essentially a cult obsessed with the colour blue and blueberries and terrified of anyone with any other colour on them. But it's also a nice series for its time, it's taking up racism, prejudism, life and death(Someone actually dies in Jul På Månetoppen) and grief in a very clever, easy to digest for kids kind of way that keeps their attention.
You forgot how they introduced us to be conscious with our climate and be eco friendly. The show really touches on issues that are still relevant today and they do it an clever way like you said :)
You skipped over some of the ones that released in recent years, which annoys me since those are the ones I grew up with, though I guess it's fine since you likely listed the ones you saw and grew up with.
Jul, what we actually celebrate in Norway, predates the Christmas holiday by thousands of years. The word refers to the Norse god Odin. But Jul was incorporated into Christianity after Olaf Tryggvason's largely violent christianization of Norway around the year 1000. A lot of Christmas traditions actually derive from pegan religions being incorporated into Christianity, like the Christmas tree. Out of the ones I have seen, at least two of the shows had episodes where the main characters held Nativity plays at their schools. But other than that, like Jul in general, they were mostly secular.
It's too much as a List, and not informative of the reasons and history behind TV advent calendars. I'd recommend cutting it's lenght and reworking what your point is

Wow! What an amazing concept! I'm surprised other countries haven't picked up the idea. Great video!

Got a lot of fun topics planned for future videos, so I hope you'll stick around!

Oi!!
