- On this episode of Trespasser Customs, I delve into the first map from Trescom's newest map maker, morningstarring. There's no fancy setup here, we simply find ourself dropped onto a road through a redwood forest that we must follow to find an exit. And along the way we encounter numerous dinosaurs that wish to do violence to us. Dilophosaurs, Tyrannosaurs, Allosaurs, and of course a plethora of raptors. We'll also need to locate a number of keycards to progress, giving us a good reason to poke around in every structure along the way.

I had another area planned for this level after the allosaurs, but I decided to cut it short and move on to making a new level. which is why I slapped a random helipad in a deep ravine to trigger the end.

This map is bigger than it actually appears and has an almost insane amount of predators, the puzzles are spread all over the map which makes it very difficult to complete it.
On the other hand, exploration within it is also almost impossible due to the already mentioned number of predators and even with everything already mentioned, this map model is very good when it comes to testing your level of survival.

this video popped up in my feed recently. it was cool to see the level i made a while ago played through. it rekindled my interest in tres modding. im glad you've enjoyed and played through a couple of my levels. i feel like many of the veteran modders are ultra focused on the little details. they make beautiful levels but sometimes they lack the linear structure of a traditional level. I think its more fun to focus on the whole forest and add a few interesting groups of trees(i.e. puzzles/platforming/dino encounters etc). My stuff isnt perfect but I think it's fun to play even with some imperfections. I also like the input you've given in your videos and trescom forums about levels with dinos+guns being fun. I could probably provide fewer guns in my levels. but killing a trex is fun! anyway, thanks for covering my level. hopefully ill have more to come soon.
Man, I remember *really* wanting to love this game when I was a lot younger. I applaud it for its vision, even if it was years too soon.
The bushes at 5:40 are the good-looking retail plants put to good use.
It's been a while since I looked at those green Raptor-things, but I believe they are meant to be deinonychus.
And the basketball sounds are caused by dinosaurs which don't have audio assigned for specific actions, which causes them to sound like basketballs for some reason.
Indeed... Because of the bushes, the raptors can hide in them no issue, and catch you off guard!
The pathfinding on the T-Rexs seemed better than normal, they were both right on top of you in nothing flat. Maybe the retail level terrain is designed to bring the best out of the dino ai...
Ten vanilla maps, including the test scene level and demo, and there are 57 videos you've made, for a grand total of 47 mod videos. However, there are occasionally multiple videos for one map, so subtract about ten or so(JPDS, Mountain Road, and The Hunt come immediately to mind for the multiple videos per map/mod, with Four Towers Extended following soon after). And, if you're curious how I got 57 total Trespasser videos, its because Four Towers Extended has a fourth video not in your playlist, and Fall Lodge isn't even in that playlist at all.
