Fishful Thinker TV has aired on cable TV on both World Fishing Network and Altitude Sports Channel since 2009, 26 episodes per year. Our promotional partners have been with us since the show inception. We're just new to UA-cam.
Almost always an 1/8oz Berkley Half Head jig or Swimbait jig. The later has a heavier wire hook bettrer suited for larger fish. The Half Head is better suited for trout/walleye/smallmouth bass.
I just bought a 55lb motor for my kayak....... and Horsetooth is my local. Just don't catch much in the summer because of the boats, so I'm looking forward to catching this winter!
A few trout have been stocked but nothing like the numbers that were stocked as a result of the High Park Fire in 2012 and again with the flood of 2013. Most of the the stocked trout from those years would have died off of old age by now.
I really like your shows. I fished walleyes for years in Canada. We now live in Fort Collins and I'm thinking about taking my 13 year old grandson to fish. I like to get him on the lake. We have done most of our fishing small ponds from the shore. Whats the best time of the year to catch walleyes and small mouth? I am assuming those are now the main species of fish.
Nice video Chad. We need to catch up one of these days. I'm planning more fishing time this year. I got a Mariner 4 inflatable and a Minn Kota Endura trolling motor. Just about ready to get out and do some fishing.
That was filmed a few years back. The park manager at the time would occasionally open if the lake was ice free, the weather was nice and they had a ranger to check boats. We'll see if the new park manager takes that same approach.
Mostly all cutt-bows but occasionally a rainbow or brown shows up. These days they only stock cutt-bows here so the others are holdover from the High Park Fire when a bunch of random trout were put in here.
No, sadly it isn’t. They haven’t been stocked in big numbers here in many years. The quality of that fishing was a direct result of the High Park fire in the hatchery having to be emptied.
Yes sir
Been good this year too
damn, good on you for have sponsors with so few subscribers. that is rare!!!

Have they done any additional Trout stocking there lately?

Did you use 1/4 oz for the gulp or tube. If not what size?
1/8oz for the Gulp! Minnow and 1/4 for the tube.

Thanks for the kind words. Lat eMay through mid July is our favorite time around here for both walleyes and smallies.

Another great video Chad. How do I book a trip I live if 10 minutes from horsetooth.
fishfulthinker.com/ I have only a few June and July dates left.
So fun to watch!! So how did you get a boat on horsetooth, with ANS stations closed?

Great video thanks. Were those trout all cutbow? Or were there other types as well?
Mostly all cutt-bows but occasionally a rainbow or brown shows up. These days they only stock cutt-bows here so the others are holdover from the High Park Fire when a bunch of random trout were put in here.
Fishful Thinker good info thanks!
Is the trout fishing at horse tooth still this good? I’ve been hearing the trout population is almost diminished
No, sadly it isn’t. They haven’t been stocked in big numbers here in many years. The quality of that fishing was a direct result of the High Park fire in the hatchery having to be emptied.
