For Halberd's Reactor 1) It should be done w/o helper, since the reactor only takes 3 hits instead of 4 w/o helper. 2) You should kill the gun because the gun firing wastes time.
Plasma is charged one unit every time you press a direction, and it allows a direction to be pressed once per frame. So using frame advancement I can charge it faster than humanly possible and have Wave Cannons ready immediately.
I know. There are a couple of things I could do differently, actually, if it weren't for the fact that I have to do TASes with a controller alone and use the keyboard solely for frame advancement (it's in a USB port and doesn't like having multiple keys pressed or held simultaneously.) So I map as much as I can to the controller using button overlapping and make do that way. It's why you don't see TAC ever block; helper L/R were redundant.
Your Plasma run still beat this. I noticed that some of your runs aren't available to view on YT anymore. So basically it says (watched the original). However where is it? HL also stands for Heavy Lobster.
Nnnot exactly. The "fastest possible" trip through the area involves changing the powers of both Kirby and the helper in between most fights to get the best possible setup. As you can see, on some fights it's better to have Kirby do most of the work.
@dtnc21 I already explained that, but here we go again: because of the state of my keyboard (does not like to register two keys being held at once) I must map everything for both players to one controller and controlling movement for both of them in an environment like that boss fight is nigh impossible.
By attacking fast enough with TAC, you can deal a massive amount of damage on Fatty Whale. TAC's uncharged attack doesn't do very much damage, but in rapid succession it becomes deadly.
@kyuubkirby On an emulator I can map the buttons for P1 and P2 to the same controller. In this case, I control TAC through shoulder buttons alone (left, right, jump, attack.) The D-pad is just for Kirby's movement, as are the four buttons on the right.
I don't know the name per se, but it's a remix of the music that played during the boss rematch waiting room segment of Kirby's Dream Land. I'm pretty sure this isn't the only game in which that track has been redone.
Kinda. It does a handful of fights better than when using Wheelie Rider, but usually not without Kirby's help. The best possible Arena run would use several different powers and leave Kirby to do some fights solo.
Neither. I used an emulator and while recording I used frame advancement which let me time my attacks so that I could launch them the moment the game would allow. TAC on the SNES version can attack extremely rapidly, basically as fast as your finger can press the button, at close range.
Yeah. For the bosses, go with Stone or Hammer for best results, or sometimes Suplex. I really prefer Ninja, though. My high score in Helper to Hero is 5min 12sec. I don't think I'll ever be able to beat it again. O.o
So I take it you didn't realise the J1.0 Plasma glitch? Hold Left and right, then press up and you instantly charge plasma. It has some other funky effects with other abilities, like permanent deletion with yo-yo
There's actually a video of that already on UA-cam, and it just might be as boring to make as it was boring for me to watch. So slow, and guaranteed to require splitting into two parts. Sorry, but that's a definite no.
While I can't tell how speedily you beat things, I do know that Sword isn't gifted with a powerful spammable attack and the three-hit-combo isn't remotely versatile. At least not for what I'd want to do, clearing it in as little over 5 minutes or less.
*TOOL-ASSISTED-CAT INTENSIFIES*
Annoying as an Enemy, Too Overpowered as a Helper!
He steals your abilities as an enemy but as a friend he steals lives instead.
From now on I'm addressing Tac as Mister Lister the Sister Fister
You really used some nice TACtics there
I never knew TAC's punch was so overpowered...
And everyone says that copy ability is useless.-_-
Because it is. TAC is the useful one, not Copy itself.
Copy IS useful it can bring tac alive
Please Nintendo bring copy kirby so that we can have T.A.C with us.
6:17 ORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORA
T.A.C HAS A GUN THAT SHOOTS HANDS AND HE HAS INFINITE AMO!!!!!
ORA ORA ORA

I'd like to point out that 3rd to last was Waddle Dee, then 2nd was Wispy Woods then it was Matx. So it was two of the easiest bosses to a harder one
TAC: gimme that trophy! I did all the work!

I love TAC. I wish he was in more Kirb games!
Your Plasma run still beat this.

HL also stands for Heavy Lobster.
When Kirby's on the Warp Star, it looks like Kirby's nomming on it :3
6:05-:06 is some funny shit. I LoLed.

3:34 alright, I'm gonna need an explanation here.
By attacking fast enough with TAC, you can deal a massive amount of damage on Fatty Whale. TAC's uncharged attack doesn't do very much damage, but in rapid succession it becomes deadly.
i think this too the boss is so hard
6:43 LUCKY!
joshua toenges that's no luck, that's how it's supposed to go
joshua toenges
6:43
Fixed
No need to apologize, dude.
@kyuubkirby

6:58 I think the winner is The Cat
6:03 wow
Tac is pissed with the kids.
"touching is good"
I don't know the name per se, but it's a remix of the music that played during the boss rematch waiting room segment of Kirby's Dream Land. I'm pretty sure this isn't the only game in which that track has been redone.
Then it wouldn't be a fucking TAS, kiddo. That's kinda the whole.. y'know.. point.
Kinda. It does a handful of fights better than when using Wheelie Rider, but usually not without Kirby's help.
The best possible Arena run would use several different powers and leave Kirby to do some fights solo.
Okay, I knew that. It just looked like it hit way more often than it should. It also sounded like that, so I wasn't sure.
Frame advancement lets me easily pick the one I want as soon as it comes up. They're in a set order and Crash isn't too far from the top.
4:22
does tac try to steal stone ability?
미스터 l라임 no
Helper to Hero before Helper to hero
I always thought it was S.A.C until I fought computer virus who gave it away
Neither. I used an emulator and while recording I used frame advancement which let me time my attacks so that I could launch them the moment the game would allow. TAC on the SNES version can attack extremely rapidly, basically as fast as your finger can press the button, at close range.
02:55: TIC TAC!!!
@sillygramcracker
It's in the tags for that very reason, and the description should make it obvious.
That means Kirby must be holding onto the TAC power, which is worthless when used by Kirby, let alone unable to destroy the cannon.
Also thanks I now know how to beat halberd reactor
did you know:
you can put 2p controlled helpers into nova?
@geicomastah37
More like I've mastered the art of holding the frame advance button until it reaches Crash.
TAC is invincible if he blocks I think. Like not just blocking, but SUPER blocking!
Amazing!
Yeah. For the bosses, go with Stone or Hammer for best results, or sometimes Suplex. I really prefer Ninja, though. My high score in Helper to Hero is 5min 12sec. I don't think I'll ever be able to beat it again. O.o
@Pcfan11 It's still Tac.
Tac didn't do ALL the work. Kirby did, too.
It was very hard. I had to spam Chop and Thrust and the Sword Beam over and over again.
I also tried to do it with Plasma, but I just got MEGAPWNED.
GO TEAM GAME BREAKER! :D
You do know that on 2-p you don't need to get rid of TAC for heart of nova. But great run!!
Leo flama era un buen amigo
That is OP
It's a move Kirby can do with the hammer. Strong, but you lose the power.
How do u charge plasma so fast?
Explanation behind "No good!" pls
Heh, someone on LUE linked to this. I have no idea in what context, not being a LUEser myself.
So I take it you didn't realise the J1.0 Plasma glitch?
Hold Left and right, then press up and you instantly charge plasma.
It has some other funky effects with other abilities, like permanent deletion with yo-yo
Lilio Can you explain what the glitch is?
TAC is so op
Can you do kirby and waddel doo plz
Hey is there anyway code or by hacking to play as helper on its own?
NotTheRealOne connect a second controller
id have to use kirby at the same time
i mean single player as helper
in super star ultra (the ds remake) theres a mode called helper to hero where you can play the arena (not all of it) as a helper if that helps any
@Zarmwhirl how do u play with 2 controllers D:
@Warlic612
I'm controlling both.
It looks like TAC would be dominant in many of the rounds though.
That or stone?
I did a Sword-only arena run (No TAS on the DS) and got ~12:13.
Wait, mine too. My 5:12 record is with Bio Spark. I think my Bonkers record is something like 4:24.
ONLY SWALLOW WADDLE DEE!
I agree with dtnc21,with a helper you could have done it in around 3:16-3:19.
eh, I wish I could TAS Ultra. Then I could charge up Wave Cannons and pwn everybody. But no. (I still beat it. After trying 100 times...)
Is TAC the best partner to have?
Yes
Wait, this ISN'T TAS!
Tac pwns! :)
Why does that waddle Dee boss exist
Since tac is cat spelt backwards, I feel that TAC's japanese name is oken.
What the hell happened at 3:33? xD I've never seen that happen.
Dude u can on the nova have a starship helper
I didn't know TAC was that good
they probably nerfed him in ultra, like they did with the other good powers, for whatever reason
How about sword?
HOW THE HELL DID YOU DO THIS?
There's actually a video of that already on UA-cam, and it just might be as boring to make as it was boring for me to watch. So slow, and guaranteed to require splitting into two parts.
Sorry, but that's a definite no.
My best score in helper to hero is sub-5.
Hey You play kirby super star Ultra
@Pcfan11 it would be kone
While I can't tell how speedily you beat things, I do know that Sword isn't gifted with a powerful spammable attack and the three-hit-combo isn't remotely versatile. At least not for what I'd want to do, clearing it in as little over 5 minutes or less.
You like to cheat with Crash against Marx, I see. (ChI) [Chuckling Inside]
lol. mix ability, gets crash... you either have wicked quick reflexes, a good knowledge of the games PNR generator, or _both_!
Why would you solo Nova's Reactor? That wastes time.
@AbeX300 only swallow him
Why haven't Did Ninja Ability Now?
180329 1942
a tas and an emulator. it's not legit, though its fun to watch. with real gameplay it's impossible
Y tac tampien
No, too weak.
cheater.
try it on the original SNES without turbo/frame advancement. THEN tell me you beat it in faster than 3:24
I'd like to point out that 3rd to last was Waddle Dee, then 2nd was Wispy Woods then it was Matx. So it was two of the easiest bosses to a harder one
