The song "Subah Na Aayi Shaam Na Aayi", was written by the then new song writer, Neeraj, and Makhdoom Mohiuddin's poem "Chara Gar" is depicted in the song "Ek Chameli Ke Mandwe Tale", which tells the story of two lovers who can never be together.
Storyline..
Lali, played by Helen, returns home from abroad, disappointing her mother with her new attitudes, looks, and affinity to dance. After reluctantly making a trip to the temple at the request of her mother, Lali assumes that the man (Puran) singing in the temple, is referring to her in the lyrics of his song. In response, and to the surprise of onlookers, she slaps him, only to shortly discover that he is blind and was singing a religious song. Feeling guilty, and with the support of her family, Puran is taken to Mumbai (then Bombay), and regains his eyesight following eye surgery paid for by Lali's family.[citation needed]
Lali's character soon changes. Unable to persuade Puran to learn Western dance, she assumes traditional dress and the two fall in love. However, she is subsequently persuaded by her father to marry a wealthy businessman and end the relationship with Puran for the sake of family honour in light of her upcoming sister's marriage, as Puran, being of a "harijan" caste, is deemed unsuitable for her by her parents.
When she is struck by a disability, her husband leaves her.Puran in the meantime becomes a singing/dancing hero.
The script was written by Chandrashekhar, who directed the film and played the lead male role. It was released in 1964.
The film was one of Helen's few successes in a leading role.[1] Filmfare described Helen as someone "who slides across the film with the grace of a leopardess, whose femininity and quiet behaviour are in pleasing in contrast to Bela Bose's enthusiastic flaunting of over-emphasised charms".
Kate Spade noted in her 2013 Cha Cha Cha timeline that in 1964 "Bollywood is hit with Cha Cha Cha fever".
In 2014 Cha Cha Cha was listed in 40 Retakes: Bollywood Classics You May Have Missed by Avijit Ghosh.

All dear friends and readers, I'm writing ✍ this on 24th December 2021 as a token of my love and heart for the priceless creation in the form of humanly God who will rule the hearts of every living being till the end of the universe - Shri Mohammad Rafi Saahab. 🙏
Just to let you know that since half a year or more, the transformation has taken place with me. It's so much that listening to Rafi Saahab and Lata Ji masterpieces automatically brings me tears.
Lata Ji's sweeter than honey creations like Mila Hai Kisika Jhoomka, O Sajna, Jogi Jab Se Tu Aaya Mere Dwaare, Jaa Re Jaa Re Udd Jaa Re Panchhi and almost all of Mala Sinha songs are extraordinarily effective to pay a lot of tearful respect to the Saraswati of Sangeet.
Similarly Rafi Saahab master creations like Woh Hum Na Thay, Subah Na Aayi, Tu Mere Saamne Hai, Phir Woh Bhooli Si Yaad Aayi Hai, Maine Rakha Hai Mohabbat, all songs of Dosti and all sad and emotional songs of Rafi Ji in 1950s and 1960s are instantly effective on me to remember and revere Rafi Saahab through pure tears.
I'm still very much attached to Asha Tai and Kishore Da, but Rafi Saahab and Lata Ji of 1950s and 1960s are unparalleled to anyone. Really feel that if in case all these four legends (Rafi Saahab-Lata Ji of 1950s and 1960s and Asha Tai-Kishore Da of 1970s) would have been in heavenly touch at the same time, then that decade would've been the best decade of music ever.
But change is always inevitable, as they say. Anyway, I'm extremely thankful to God for showering the blessings of 'THE VOICE OF GOD' RAFI SAAHAB AND 'SARASWATI OF MUSIC' LATA JI AND ALSO THE 'NIGHTINGALE OF ASIA' ASHA TAI AND 'THE FINEST UNTRAINED SINGER EVER AND MAN OF MANY MOODS' KISHORE DA !!! Our life would have been very much colorless and have had huge vacuum without the existence of these HEAVENLY ARTISTS.
One thing I feel - Had Lata Ji not been slow poisoned prior to 1963, she would have rendered many more masterpieces with much better effect due to her amazing breath hold time of 11 seconds, which got reduced to 9 seconds after slow poisoning incident. I'm sure that although Asha Tai is more versatile than Lata Ji, it's a fact that there's no one as melodious and no singer renders song with ZERO GASPING SOUND like that of Lata Ji Mangeshkar.
Thank you so much to the Almighty for giving me the opportunity to listen, experience and enrich my life through the divine powers of Rafi Saahab and Lata Ji.

No words to describe the greatness of Rafi Sahab, not only the Greatest singer but also a humble and gentle man with golden voice without any substitute.

His mind had purity, that is why he was on another genius level. He focused on his art so absolutely he had no room for the impurities of the world and the politics and the dirt associated with the film industry. A mind that is pure can attain the highest level of skill that is attainable in any field.
He also had no ego, and never attributed his singing prowess to anything other than the permission given by the Almighty to be released upon the world through him.
All other singers except a few maybe were adulterated by greed for money, game power, or other impurities after being established but Rafi Saab stayed pure from start to finish.

Divine voice of Rafi Sahib , superb music of Iqbal Quershi Sahib , the interplay of Sarangi , Sitar ,Violin and Tabla is so well played .Helen Richard , a highly talented actor , has expressed herself beautifully. She did not get enough chances matching her talent . Great Dear Mastkalandar ; though I am now touching seventies ; but listened to Cha Cha Cha songs for the first time last year only and listened to them many times and each time am transported to another world . Wonderful Mastkalandar .

The passion, the emotion, the pronunciation, the diction, everything is so on point that you can't but simply marvel at the wonderful, mind-boggling way he's sung this song.
