Always shut off the pitcock and let it suck the carburetor dry to prevent future problems when you need it next time!! Just my 2cents from the outside looking in aswell as my life lessons ❤ your educational content and glad you're doing well!!
My old one just quit working and I bought a dual fuel one. I decided to try it on propane for the hell of it. I know have 3 smaller tanks and a 2 -100lb tanks. Never again do I use gasoline.
Stay safe and use Sea Foam for storing fuel for long periods of time. We keep 4 -5 gallon gas containers on rotation , so we always have fresh fuel on hand, but generator is stored with sea foam.
Hey add some VP fuel to your small motors when you know you won't be using them for awhile. Get it at Lowes Home Depot walmart. Has the additives so it won't go bad. Good luck man stay safe.
I ended up draining the The gas from the tank and the carburetor putting a new battery in it LOL when I found there was a wire loose didn't have to do that after all but she cranked right up. Always be prepared
Keep fuel in an airtight container and it cannot go bad. I have some 15 year old gas in an MSR stove tank and it smells pump fresh and burns with a normal open air flame.
Don't put any type of gas that has ethanol in it in small engines if it sit for a long period of time it gels up your carburetor will be a mess not just your fuel tank

That's for cleaning out after using old gas. STA-BIL will preserve better. But use the sea foam after you use the old gas.
Stay safe Bro

@kotaboy32 ahhh hell, sounds like something that'd happen to me 🤣
Just a tip use non ethanol gasoline and run it dry after filling every 4 mouths use all the gas every 4 months
The best fuel source for portable generators is propane. Never goes bad and does not ruin the seals/o-rings on your fuel lines.

Bros in my state we are getting pissed on
Gas eats plastic, don't use five dollar buckets for this stuff.
I always release the gas in the storm drain
