    This Video is the only one on UA-cam that actually shows the work involved in transforming a seat conversion for Promaster.. and is a credit to Vanana for taking the time to make it..
    Without this video you could end up with costly blunders.. especially with a sharp knife at hand... However as I am in England .. and using the same base as the vid.. right hand drive models are slightly different and you have to following Vanana's detailed vid add more spacers or washers under the seat base .. and lift the seat base to 15 mm or a good half inch off the van floor.. not the two back washers shown in vid.. the reason is on right drive vans the seats as with left revolves "Clockwise".. and I will come back to that in a minute.. and there ore the "hump" over the Fuel Pump which resides in between the seats .. (driver and passenger) is 12 mm higher than the rest of the floor and as you turn the seat it will foul and jam because of the raised difference..
    Placing the Washers (buy penny washers from amazon) under as shown in vid on all 4 bolts will cure this.. and of course if you have a fitted or cab carpet you will need to do this...
    it does not raise to much an extra half inch wont matter..
    The benefits of the swivel is on an English right hand drive mode.. be-it Relay.. Ducato.. or 2009 Boxer as is my own.. that the seat rotates "Clockwise.. and as one of the main reasons for buying this system is for allowing to get from the front through to the back from cab or vice versa.. so elderly can enter van slider and walk through to cab.. and because it swivels "Clockwise the back of the seat at halfway passes the slider door jam (nearside) and you can easily walk through the gap between other driver seat.. and as an added bonus.. undo the clamps while the person sit on the seat against the door .. and that person can "Scoot" the seat with their feet easily whilst sat on it to the halfway point.. and just walk through..
    It is a wonderful gadget and I can't recommend it enough.. better than buying some tatty used seats from dismantlers for £250 -£400 that probably wont match..
    And all this is possible for £250 (next day delivery in England) be prepared to expect something that weighs as much as an anvil.. it is not a toy.. and as vid shows anyone can do this..
    I could not have done this job without "Hubby" and most important .. without the excellent effort of the chap making this vid..

      This is very useful, thank you - I’ve just fitted mine and the front twisty knobs don’t want to twist into the locked position at all, and I suspected that it was because the base was too close to the van floor and causing an obstruction, so I’ll give this a try. Quick question? How many washer are you using on each bolt? Most m12 penny washers are about 2mm in height so you must be using 7 or 8 washers?? Seems a lot! Has this caused any issues with stability at all?

      @LynPoddley 3 роки тому

      @@Mr_Beagle Hello .. This really is a trial and error situation.. Too many washers on the front (6) will rake the seat more upright when reversed... More washers on the back (6) will rake the seat to more a normal seating angle... I found the bolts for the floor that came with it are no way long enough.. so used the original seat base bolts.. and in the end I made my own raking (leaning back) when reversed.. by using the rear long ("V") cut grey flanged bolts slipped back into the original forked seat bracket rear tightened down when travelling and when seat turned then simply wind them up and this will give you an additional 1.5" at the base but a rake value of nearly 6" at headrest.. thus not needing as many washers (3) should do it...
      The stability of up to (6) washers is still OK... but less is better.. 3 or 4 for front.. and 2 for back .. but try my rear lift rake using original bolts for rear..

    Awesome video! I’m looking at a van with these double seats. Do they fold down for easy entry to the back from the driver cab?

    can you easily move from the cab to the rear of your van perhaps if the seat is sideways in position?

    On my Fiat Ducato when you swivel the seat backwards that 5th peg is the only one you lock the seat in with, so it ends up kinda pivoting on that one location. If you lock it with 2 of the 4 pegs that form the square the passenger door wouldn't close as the seat was too far over towards the door...

    Thanks for your video. I did ordered the swivel from UK and installed it to my Promaster Van. After rotate the bench seat facing to the back of the van I feel like the seat is rather tilt forward and doesn't feel as comfortable. Do. you feel the same??

    • @vananaadventures3602
      @vananaadventures3602  3 роки тому +1

      When I did ours, I was thinking the lean was due to our driveway. After your comment, I did notice that it does lean forward (toward the rear when swiveled). I looked at the mount again and think I will as some spacers to the front, so when turned it leans back a little bit more.

    Thank you for this helpful video! Is the storage space under the double seat now un-useable (i.e. was thinking of placing a webasto heater under the passenger seats) Thanks!

    • @vananaadventures3602
      @vananaadventures3602  4 роки тому

      It is not unusable, but n my opinion, I wouldn't put a heater because it will be flexing the lines.

    How’s the swivel holding up? Do you find it worth it? Did you add a swivel to the driver side? I was going to do this and then the scopemia for the driver side if they don’t interfere.

    I ordered this swivel after seeing this video. Got it installed and it's working. Thanks for your video. One thing I didn't take into consideration is that the seat doesn't recline and no one wants to sit in it. Did you modify your seat to recline? I don't know what to do with it now.

      After some time I did add 1" spacers to the front part. This gives it more of a lean on both forward and back facing.

      @@vananaadventures3602 Hi from France ! Thanks a lot for your video, I'm considering this for my Fiat Ducato (same vehicule, european make), don't your extra washers make the seat really high ? I'm concerned it would become too high to be confortable in driving position.

    Thanks for the informative video. Helpful. I'm converting a Promaster van now as well that came with a stock bench seat. Figuring out whether to keep it or to change it out. Just confirming, are you able to swivel without disconnecting the wires? Also, is there an squeakiness to it? Thanks!

    • @vananaadventures3602
      @vananaadventures3602  4 роки тому

      Yes the wires are long enough to swivel without disconnecting. It is a solid unit when tightened, so no squeaking.

    thanks a ton for this video! Wanted to ask about entering the back from the cab - one of my biggest pet peeves about the bench seat. Is it easy enough to swivel the bench from the front allowing access to the back without getting out of the van or is that not all that easy to do? Just talked with the UK company and the shipping is almost as much as the swivel unfortunately, but still worth it hopefully. Thanks in advance!

    • @vananaadventures3602
      @vananaadventures3602  4 роки тому

      You would have to swivel from the backside. More room and maneuverability.
      Yes the shipping was as much as the product, but it works well.

    Is it possible to rotate the double seat 90 degrees and push back against the b-pillar? Would that allow enough isle room to go from the rear to the driver's seat?

    • @vananaadventures3602
      @vananaadventures3602  3 роки тому +2

      It is possible to rotate 90, but it will not move back to the pillar. It leaves about 7 inches between the back of the seat and the b pillar.

    Wanting to install this bench seat behind the drivers seat facing forward and wondering if the swivel unit would work to rotate the seat so when I wanted, it could face the sliding door on the passenger side. It would have to rotate the bench seat in a clockwise direction. I believe your set up rotates in the counterclockwise direction. Do you know if this would be possible?

    • @vananaadventures3602
      @vananaadventures3602  4 роки тому

      Yes, I have to rotate counterclockwise. That is because of the driver seat is stationary. I cannot see why it wouldn't work clockwise if enough room.

      Which swivel adapters would works for the driver seat in the setup with the passenger double bench? I contacted many sellers and every one responded the the driver chair would not rotate with the bench because of the lack of space. Or it is necessary to have the bench rotated to rotate the driver chair?
