Play any job you want, but for controller players I recommend this one! Save your hands from that damn arthritis.. and stay away from mouse and keyboard... xD

The best job on controller for me is Astrologian and Samurai. It'll make you grow extra fingers.

Tried a number of jobs but totally agree that Summoner is excellent on Controller. Dragoon comes second but quite a way down from Summoner. May I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year

Came here to say this. There aren't a ton of buttons to press at all. Super easy to play on controller.
I used your video for cross hotbar set up for my controller, that's my prime way to play now. Thank you so much for that video. Helped me more than you can imagine. I love messing with all the jobs, looking at the GCDs & CDs to get the ideal set up for me. Each job feels so personal, and rewarding that way. But my base is from your videos. I'm a new ffxiv player I have been playing for a few months now and I been using your guides for the classes I love to play so thank you for your guides.
I used your videos when I started playing controller on my PC, and used wxhb, however I noticed my fingers and hands would hurt more than on keyboard and mouse, so I switched to single xhb and just toggle between 2 hotbars. Much better result and I make less mistakes too.

My only problem is stick drift. Only because I play other games as well and do too much on shooters... Need to invest in the DualSense Edge to see if that's a better option. Other than that 100% controller player since ps3 beta, glad they kept adding new idea for controllers using the most out of it helps so much and makes PvP so simple 😂
The Dual Sense Edge has the Same mechanic Potentiometers as the normal one. There the same Parts but just replaceable so you will also get Stick drift with it. Maybe check out the Nacon Revolution Pro 5 Controller which uses Hall Effect Sticks so its impossible to get Stick drift. The only Downside is it uses the Xbox Stick Layout.
Ill allow SMN as easiest on controller since SMN is available when you start in ARR.
Maybe the way I play is strange but I find bard the most comfortable on controller, like summoner is probably much easier since you don't have to keep up with so many dots and songs, but I recommend bard for a try if you want a more supportive class.
Hi, I am a new player and love your videos. I did some google searches before starting just for this topic as I play on ps5 only and wanted a job that was easy on controller. The top result I got though was Dancer as it is just DDR with buttons replacing each other...maybe I was told incorrectly! Right now I am a low level Bard and have used your videos to set that up with the 2 rows of hotbars, fantastic!
Wondering though if I should swap to Arcanist > Summoner for long term play?
Both are neck and neck on easy, summoner takes the cake for me personally cuz it’s a set rotation instead of a guidelines approach that dancer is so controller wise the rotation and button pressing is predictable. In this aspect it makes it easier to enjoy the story more when playing through

I love how easy SMN is for my small brain 😂 And dude, my friend somehow only uses one hotbar on controller with sprint, teleport, and return still on it 💦 (they play healer)
Controller player since 2.0 was current. For me, it’s dancer.
Im on PS5 and played 18 months with a controller.
A lot of jobs have too many rotations but ive found from experience that dragoon ( my main) works ok plus warrior, reaper and blu mage.
I use 3 hot bars for dragoon and reaper. The main hotbar, the double tap hotbar and the L1-2, R1-2 hotbar.

Thought for sure youd say MCH. Ive been playing GNB on controller and its intense so when i picked up MCH it felt like i wasnt even playing the same game lol
Honestly i dislike this new summoner. A mere blindly rotating between summons which then almost completely useless to remember each summon's name. I need to remember each of their name and when to utilize which one on which occasion.
On the bright side, its a newbie friendly DPs nowadays
I came to XIV from WoW and other mouse & keyboard MMOs. At first, I thought I'd HATE playing with a controller. I have a learning disability that has previously made controller games on an Xbox or PS just about impossible. But with a lot of time and patience I taught myself how to play because physical disabilities were beginning to really interfere with my ability to play using a mouse and keyboard. Now, there's no other way I'd want to play! I used your video to set up my cross hotbars and am using your other tutorials to learn to play each job. My only difficulty now is having bought a knockoff controller because I wasn't sure if I would be able to play that way, and the left trigger not working AT ALL, so I'm stuck with one bar until I get a fully functional controller. 🤦♀
In all truth while some jobs may be easier for controller than others, all of them are very possible and quick to pick up on controller, I been playing controller since 2.0 was current, and have played all roles, now I haven’t leveled all jobs I concede, but given my ease with all the ones I have leveled, I think any job could work well with controller, some better than others, but don’t let the idea of using controller dissuade you from playing any job you’re interested in.
I’d say dancer is really easy on controller yea I agree summoner is really easy I was leveling that when I switched to 100% controller play
I'm digging all your videos to set up my bars and I love it. One thing that I didn't find was you bar setup for set 3 and beyond. Can you show it or point any other video with it?
I can't play with the controller for too long..my finger hurts when activating the hotbars all the time. maybe i need more practice :/

From my personal experience i prefer Machinist next to Monk, as 16 (PS5 Controller) Actions are more than enough to get the most out of these 2 jobs, at least I feel that way....
