A big thanks to you both for joining us on La Luna. It was fun! We thoroughly enjoyed your company and the few days we travelled North together. Wishing you all the best, hope we cross paths again, Craig and Donna
Beautiful sailing, weather guide and geography! But the best part was the description of the social side right at the end - so thank-you from us, the viewers, to Craig and Donna
Welcome to Turkey. As I see you parsel from bozukkale to bodrum. Dont forget to visit hisaronu bay(Dirsek, Bencik, Ada bogazi, selimiye, orhaniye, inbuku, aktur, kargi) also gokova(Armonika, buyukacati, ingiliz limani, karacasogut, bordubet, tuzla) these are one of the best places green and turquase blue together.
Good episode. You both seem to be in very good spirits and having fun sense you arrived in the Mediterranean. Even the boat damage didn’t seem to upset you much. Best wishes from a non sailor in Indiana.
Thanks guys. I like keeping an eye on your whereabouts. I did a season in Croatia as a bike guide for Neilson and subsequently was fortunate to be able to do a lot of sailing in that area and your channel is a nice nostalgic watch for me. If you get up that way I imagine you will have a lovely time as well as I did.
That was an excellent anchorage you stayed in at the end of the video. I anchored there several times last July/August ocassionally with 35 knots. I tried several other spots around there but the holding was guaranteed in Aspat Koyu. The scenery was pretty awsome too.
I always back down on my anchor at 2000+ rpm. Looking at somethings stationary a beam to make sure where not moving. Always good and hooked, never had problems.
It was in 1979 that I sailed in my brand new catamaran Namaste from Italy to Turkey and Greece, where you are, for my first season. A year later I was sailing on through Suez and arrived in Phuket,Thailand 4 years later!
You two are the Nick and Nora Charles (The Thin Man) of the UA-cam sailing world :-). So enjoyable to sail along with you. Was wondering... with all these sailing channels having to do warranty work... do boat builders build in the almost inevitable cost of warranty repairs into their original boat price? Keep making me smile.
I usually either stitch the battens in or use a sticky back sail patch to cover the pocket opening or both. And you have to change that anchor. You will never sleep properly with it. I had a Lewmar Delta for five years of cruising. The day I ditched it and bought a real anchor my enjoyment of cruising doubled and the stress and anxiety halved.
@@hillsidedweller656 It's a Rocna . But any of the new generation anchors except the Delta are good. I am not a fan of the Sarca Excel for general use either.
Hopefully you do stop at Knidos on the way back, its truly a magical spot, and being able to wander round the ruins with no restrictions on where you can go is amazing in this day and age! The anchorage is superb too.
I use a anchor app, as long you have GSM reception. I now use Savvy Navvy , it works quietly in the back ground, with out usingto much power, compared to the yachts MFD and sensors . I understand, how it feels when anchoring doesn’t go well, sleep becomes hard, and generally very nervous, and no relaxation. Finally with this App it works. I hope this helps. Andy
How much chain do you have for your anchor in the med? I've never been, but I heard you have to have an EXTRMEME amount for the steep drop-offs around the coves.
Thank you for sharing your sailing adventures with us. Question...did you reach a satisfactory conclusion with the shipping company regarding the iron spots all over your boat?
Lovely sail, another Monday sorted. It’s too bad that it’s two different countries between the islands on one side of you and the mainland on the other. It would probably be nice to bop between them except for all the damn bureaucratic paperwork.
In your last two videos in Turkey you have not indicated where you have anchored, I recognised Bozukkale as your first anchorage after leaving Marmaris but not sure where you anchored the next night. I think it must have been near Bodrum. In future vids can you let us know the names of the places you anchor
Usually the velcro batten holders work well, I have the oldest mainsail known to mankind still in use(Etruscan probably), and it is yet to lose any battens.
You two are so beautiful couple on UA-cam, Nick you make me smile nothing wrong with been trained, you see the love for each other in the way you just look after each other. Yes the sailing community are great. After you warranty work will you do post on what you think about sea wind warranty service as it be interesting as nick theirs no sugar coating with you. 😂 i like the sea wind performances but have notice some of the bits look cheap and before i buy a 1600 i like to know.
I'm surprised you don't take the opportunity to sail to windward in the breezy conditions to 'learn' the boat more. RR2 is a big cat, the seas are not dangerous, and perhaps you could relish the sailing challenge more? Show how to balance the boat, and how the auto helmet copes, for example. Remember, in RR1 you'd be heeled over and getting wet! Show how modern Mediterranean cat sailing can be (should be) done with pleasure, on the flat, and in the dry, as opposed to the usual condo caramaran Med sailor retort and practice of.... "there's not-enough-wind-motor-motor-motor-moan-moan......there's-too-much-wind-damn-it-motor-motor-motor...should have bought a motor yacht". You have a great bjg performance sailing catamaran so relish the opportunity to exploit it to is full in those gorgeous warm, blue waters, even if challenging upwind scenarios. It would make good content too as it would bring in maps and course planning. Well, that's what I say. Can you also pass some perspective, when you feel ready and informed to do so, about the present ripoff prices in Turkie in many places, and how you deal with the admin of cruising logs, and the black water pump out debacles that may be experienced in Turkie/ Turkey. 🇹🇷 . Keep up the good work.
Hi from Peter, Debbie & Casey on XS11 Catermeran Noodlebug. Are you able to walk on your solar panels? Are they CIGS technology? What Brand? ALSO . Very kind you leave the reminder to like the video till the end HOWEVER on a TV once you have the video suggestion thumbnail in the frame it becomes hard to select the like button just FYI.
How cool that you have so much water and energy that you can powerwash at will? I would be curious to hear a deep dive on energy and water production numbers, how much is from solar vs alternators, and how much fuel you're using to motor. Oh, and, belatedly: welcome to the Med!
Any seaman or woman will help if they can, that is not just a unwritten rule but being a human being. Then comes the beer or rum, Sorry this is not why but the relax after the brown stuff hits the fan. Every seaman kens wow lucky.
How long does it take to turn RRII around in a man overboard drill. She's a bit of a whale in the water, pulling a U-turn under sail solo seems like a daunting task indeed. Great edit, thanks for sharing. -EZ
sooo what about this AEGEAN BLUE? don't tell me the sea is the same color on the other side of the planet because this blue is def unic and it's def noticeable on your footage. Enjoy cruising Greek waters my friends -na pernaste kala ! (greek for "enjoy your stay").
So now that most of the issues seem to have been sorted, how do you feel about this boat.. and catamarans in general? Would you do it again knowing all you know now?
32 kts in the title = Force 7. Agreed, that specifically wasn't shown though we saw 29 kts .... 1 knot outside the force 7 limit. Not worth grumbling about and looking grumpy, imo
I’ve just posted the same comment and then read yours . I couldn’t agree with you more . Why the exaggeration when it was blowing 5/6 which is a completely different and lesser situation. First time I’ve watched this channel and will not do so again.
A big thanks to you both for joining us on La Luna. It was fun! We thoroughly enjoyed your company and the few days we travelled North together. Wishing you all the best, hope we cross paths again, Craig and Donna
Nick is awesome - he cooks, cleans, sails, fixes everything, a hard working man of many talents!
You know you spoiled when you call it a crème brûlée torch love it
Beautiful sailing, weather guide and geography! But the best part was the description of the social side right at the end - so thank-you from us, the viewers, to Craig and Donna
The difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut, is two weeks. Per my father who was a barber. 😂
Morning coffee and Ruby Rose, what a great way to start the day..
So jealous , never been to the Med myself. You do a great job filming it. My thanks! ☺️
You seem so much happier in the Med. Isn’t the water color fabulous there?! love it there.
Awsome to see you sail where we've family sailed, Greece included. Looking forward to many more of your great Mediterranean videos.
I used to sail those islands like Knidos on my grandad sailboat every Summer of my childhood. Your videos bring back so many memories !! 🙏
Nick washing the deck with fresh water guaranteed there was going to be alot of salt spray over the bow :-)!
Murphy’s Law’ 😂😂😂😂😂
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean the anchor isn't out to get you
So nice to see you two loving the Med. you have worked sooo hard and you deserve it!
Welcome to Turkey. As I see you parsel from bozukkale to bodrum. Obviously, you guys are happy to be "home." I have grown fond of watching your sailing.
LoL "Crème brûlée" Le Rope! I love it!
This was an awesome episode. What a beautiful place to sail. The water looks amazing!
Thanks for letting me tag along!😊
Delightful ! Thank you. I hope the warranty work gets finished. Best wishes
This was so nice. Can't wait to see and learn a bit about Greece through your eyes and antics 😊
Good morning! Starting my day in the Med (from Oregon in the US)…so nice!
Oooh, exciting times! Relax and enjoy
Good episode. You both seem to be in very good spirits and having fun sense you arrived in the Mediterranean. Even the boat damage didn’t seem to upset you much. Best wishes from a non sailor in Indiana.
Loving the Bunnings hat mate. Great episode as always. Gurnie underway. WTF!!!
Nick, just get the clippers and the 3mm comb, no worries then😎
Great sail and beautiful water!

What a great day you have had! Beautiful episode.
Cheers guys!
Thanks for the journey!
That water is so blue, wow, what a great ride!
Please don't worry about the mic, you both sound great...😄
Good morning from New York!
Great job, love the energy, living vicariously. Thanks
Beautiful day in the MED.
Love it
Loved the video. The Med isn’t fooling with those afternoon winds! Enjoy!
Awwee.. best part of life! Meeting like minded people over a cocktail 🍸!
Great names for bands in this video...
Ruby Rose, Crescent of Swing, Morning Coffe
And Powerwash, maybe? 😂
It was in 1979 that I sailed in my brand new catamaran Namaste from Italy to Turkey and Greece, where you are, for my first season. A year later I was sailing on through Suez and arrived in Phuket,Thailand 4 years later!
The waters are so free of fishing equipment, you must be thrilled.

I really enjoy your videos. You both seem to enjoy your sailing life so much! Thank you
Thanks so much Nick and Terysa.
As always so enjoyable to watch! 🇦🇺
Nice
“he’s trained so well” 😂
I always enjoy your episodes.
Remove the bananas from their skins when slightly over ripe and freeze them . Freezing enhances the smell and freezing allows you not to use ice
Excellent video! Thank you!

Just curious, what anchor did you choose for the replacement? Thanks in advance, HD

What a great farago!
Un abbraccio forte a due!
Glad you guys are in the Med. Beautiful part of the world I hope to get too one day.
Now that you kids are in the Med we really need you to hop off the boat occasionally and show us what you're up to. Take us with you!
Stay Safe To All ! ( I Will Have a Rum For You ) ( EX R.N Officer ) From a Sunny North Kent )😊😊
Great video
Nice vid Teresa.. that water looks so amazing! First time I’ve seen someone fry sausage like that other than me.. yummy!

I hope you find your way to monemvasia, pilos and all the other beautiful anchorages around the southwest of the Peloponnese.
If you have a small vacuum you could get a flow-be to cut your hair. I've been using one for 30 years and it still works as new.
You should visit the Greek island of Symi......you'll love it👍
So beautiful. Which ports can you visit?
Thank you for sharing your sailing adventures with us. Question...did you reach a satisfactory conclusion with the shipping company regarding the iron spots all over your boat?
good video U. 2
You seem like a pretty anchored couple. I never would have guessed you were swingers.

Hi guy's, love the video, is there any chance you could do a tour of them boat. Wo love to see 1, cheers Mark
Usually the velcro batten holders work well, I have the oldest mainsail known to mankind still in use(Etruscan probably), and it is yet to lose any battens.
I really wish you had gotten at least hybrid engines.

Not wanting to spoil the party, but I'm still trying to find the Force 7 wind in this video.
I usually don't comment I just enjoy the post, but I keep meaning to ask you both is there a wedding in the future? 💒

Difference between a good cut and bad cut is 2 weeks! That what my papa always said!
Any plans to meet up w bare foot Drs? Think they are in med and seem to be super fun? The ocean is so beautifully blue!
Would it be correct to say that Terysa was a bit tipsy at the end of that vid?
thanks for vid guys, i just know your going to love med
see if you can hook up with sailing holy blue, that would be a great vid.
How cool that you have so much water and energy that you can powerwash at will? I would be curious to hear a deep dive on energy and water production numbers, how much is from solar vs alternators, and how much fuel you're using to motor. Oh, and, belatedly: welcome to the Med!
Swinging AND dragging? Its all happening inside your sarong again, Nick!
Any plans to meet up w bare foot Drs? Think they are in med and seem to be super fun?
I’d invite you over for cocktails.
Just a little Algorithm Love.
I don't under stand why you haven't bought a Mantis or Rockner anchor
So washing all of your lines could give them longer life. makes me wonder if washing the sails also would give them longer life.
Is there any tides in the Med.?

Good wife, cutting his hair......
What happened to... What Force 7 Sailing is REALLY Like on a Catamaran?
Force 7 ? Exaggerating ? More like blowing 5/6.
Where was the force 7!winds? Honestly not very interesting video and didn’t match title.
32 kts in the title = Force 7. Agreed, that specifically wasn't shown though we saw 29 kts .... 1 knot outside the force 7 limit.
