Agree, Iam a Solomon Islander and this album reminds me of my uncles when they will play this barike album day and night. I was a child during the 80's but i can still remember all the songs in the album. Barike Band you are the best.... you rock the solomons and no one will deny that........
No PNG music of today can match those of early 80s. I am from Solomon Islands and a student Sepik Ag College mid 80s. Barike really rock PNG that time... recall of those times
Goldhitz this is absolutely great stuff. I am not old enough to remember the early days of Barike so this is a huge eye-opener. I have almost given up on my generation's music simply because they do not have the musical genius and vocal ability that these bands possessed. Thanks very much for your work in keeping PGS music alive. PGS>CHM.
Augustine, thanks for your positive feedback..Good to see youngsters like you appreciate old music that were recorded with pure talents, not computers like todays music.
Great album. That era of live play is sadly gone. I have heard some popular bands play live and the sound absolutely painful. Cannot get the pitch correct, instruments out of tune, timing off and them the shout to compensate which makes matters worse. Luckily the Gospel bands can still play and sing properly. Which is a saving grace for ENB music.
+WARREN SEETO - Late John Wong and Glen Low passed away a year apart from each other, John in Kavieng on May 25th, 2008 and Glen in Rabaul a year later. Both were half Chinese
Class covers...brings back memories of growing up in the early 80s...old and Gold.
Barike is just too good. I listen too often to the songs of this great band from the land of the unexpected.
LATE JOHN WONG AND BARIKE BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF YESTER YEARS.....................RECALLS MY MIND BACK TO 1980s and 1990s the BEST

Komnairima you are absolutely spot on-the era of great talents is definitely gone, today's musos just can't get it together, they just can't.
