Its amazing to see how much you guys improved in videography compared to when you started. Im digging the lack of music and just the sound of metal being worked. Keep up the good work!
I remember when that S guy made cool things too. Now, his channel has become a brand infomercial, for the most part, with builds that drag on for weeks. Oh, and "reaction" videos. I understand you guys are friends, but don't allow yourself to go down that road. Keep building and growing.
@@blubberboy1897 Keep building items, such as this bowl and growing your skill set. Not grow your brand and become boring AF to watch. I remember "less yack yack, more whack whack". Long before reacting to fake forging on TV... 😉
I vote for a basket. It could hold lots of decorative items but I think it's best and highest usage would be to be lined with a red and white checkered dish towel and stacked full of piping hot and beautifully browned home made biskets like Mom used to make. Slathered with butter of course!
In the 17th century, my ancestors went from Gent, Belgium, to Sweden to work as blacksmiths. They were very proud and haughty (and very, VERY, stubborn), as they they were blacksmiths (they were a little better than the rest LOL). They dressed in a long, striped shirt (like a dress, but hardier), clogs, and a leather apron. They always kicked off their clogs before enterering any house, which was odd at the time. With that kind of ancestors I couold only travel down the same path as they had before me. So I studied music instead of becoming a blacksmith. I'm stubborn too. Same path of being stubborn as hell :-D I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas!
Bowl is a shape not an object. The interior part of a colander is the bowl of the colander, where you put the tobacco in a pipe is the bowl of the pipe, the interior of a crater is the bowl of the crater, where the wine goes in a wine glass is the bowl of the wine glass. A soup or salad bowl is a dish that has a bowl shape to contain the soup or salad but is just called a bowl though the whole object is not itself a bowl. Oh and that look when you dropped the cutoff tool in the oil tank... Priceless!
That is beautiful! I'm team basket, woven wrought. Love to see you working with some wrought and using it's quirks and texture in a unique way. There is so much potential with wrought for artistic textures and you nailed it. It really turned out great! Looking at the finished product I was thinking it would look great lit up from inside, maybe candle holder?. The same concept could make an amazing light fixture, go more like a near sphere, hanging from some chain with a vintage style bulb inside.
That came out great. If you try something similar again I'd suggest taking a sheet of glass and heating it up so it flows down into the bowl, should deal with any sharp edges and it'd hold water.
I would call it a bowl holder and put a clear or colored translucent bowl inside of it for a center piece on my living room table or have it by the fire place to hole your fire starter stuff. I love it that is amazing you truly inspired me with this project. Merry Christmas
Will really bowled me over with the gag with the material for the hot cut as a hammer. Will has wrought something amazing on this one. Seriously though, taking the what many would call flaws in a material to make something lovely and useful is a great thing .
Yes, it's a bowl by definition. (Bowl: a concave usually nearly hemispherical vessel : a rounded container that is usually larger than a cup) An idea for your quench tank. Make a metal net (or bowl with holes) and attach a long (the length of your quench tank's depth + extra) wire to it. Leave wire attached bowl in the quench tank with the extra wire sticking out and bent over to the side (to keep it out of the way, right?). Now you can more easily retrieve dropped items. 💡😉 Well done. 😀☕👍
Artistic expression is in the eye of the artist. It's a bowl. And the material is unique. Well executed. It would likely sell for a mint at an art boutique. Something to note. A short limited acid bath would clear the ash and antique the brazing. And a oil mixed with wax would preserve and seal it. I love wrought iron. Amazing stuff Will. Belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year! Now on to the hot cut.. dude. Ya gotta give it away.. that is not a Montana hot cut. That's a Texas hot cut. It's too big...🤣😜
Was wondering if there was a reason you used a cutting torch setup instead of a welding one? Turned out cool looking though, the texture of the iron looks so organic.
That Hardy tool is comically large! 😂 As for the bowl/colander/basket/nest decision being "up in the air", I wouldn't worry about it too much because it should come back down again quite quickly as it looks pretty heavy 😁 Sorry, I couldn't help myself on that one 😂😂😂😂 Hope you had a great Christmas. Happy New Year 👍👍👍👍
I really enjoyed the visual storytelling in this video. The dialogue was more minimalistic, highlighting the imagery. I vote for basket. It's really quite attractive. Also: 10:44 Anyone else think of a giant tarantula here?
Looks stunning! Makes me wanna try it myself. Is there a way to weld this stuff without "soldering" brass? Tac welding maybe? But I'd guess it's too carbon-rich and brittle to work that way.
That hot cut is so simple and beautifully done. Taking nothing away from the magically beautiful knives and other things you’ve made, this might be one of my favorite things you’ve done.
Merry Christmas Will. I think that came out fantastic. Never knew that about wrought iron. It does look like wood. Being Woodworker, I should know, LOL. Hope the brother likes it.
Merry Christmas Will. I love the bowl. (basket?) Either way it turned out amazing. Hopefully Santa will bring you a set of welding tips so you aren't having to braze with your cutting torch any more. Again. I love the bowl and I love the work you do.
I really like how this power hammer seems so much more tame or quiet. I am not sure if it is just the recording but comparing that to others it was almost gentlemanly.
It's because of how massively powerful this hammer is... With an expert controlling it, it doesn't have any recoil because it moves the metal as much as intended and then retracts casually 😂
Great video. Love the little moments like the reaction between you and the camera when you dropped the hot cut in the cooling oil. Any chance we could have a Marty themed tshirt anytime soon?
Did you think about putting that in a tumbler to knock off the sharp edges? Maybe a more fine abrasive in the tumbler. Not sure what it would do to the look though. Nice work!
Its amazing to see how much you guys improved in videography compared to when you started. Im digging the lack of music and just the sound of metal being worked. Keep up the good work!
The camera work when you dropped the cutoff thing in the quench tube was hilarious.
5:36 Tool drop. 😄
I can’t like the comment out of respect for the number of likes it currently has.

Having sponsors and creating new content is the literal definition of “building and growing “

i absolutely love that there is not some obnoxious loud ass music being overlaid to the montage of work being done. 10/10 in my book
I like that you didn't have any music playing. Made it more peaceful to watch.

In the world of wood turning, I was always told if it can hold water, its a bowl. if it cant, its art.
About halfway through I realized what was so good about this video: no music! Instead, we could actually hear the sounds of the workshop! Keep it up!

Interesting use of a cutting touch to braze with
Fill it full of beach glass, or multi-colored polished rocks, the contrast would be delightful! Love the video, thanks for sharing!

This type of editing with cool shots and natural sounds instead of music .. that's where it's at.
Superbly edited. The whole sequence of breaking the bar apart was fantastic.

You need a wire mesh tray on a rod/wire/string at the bottom of your quench tube for Easy retrival of dropped items.

thank you so much for well recorded audio that is properly mixed. I so much prefer this to the music video style of editing to music
I love this bowl shaped object.
Merry Christmas, Will!
That looks great, I wasn't sure about the joints at first but at the end it all came together
I think it counts as a “dish”. Pretty neat lil piece of art!
It counts as awsome. Thanks for sharing 👍
The true spirit of Christmas is never forget who your true friends are.😉 Merry Christmas Will 🎍🎄
I love his sweater ☺️
You could always call it a "helmet'" Will. [Made that comment before you put it on your head!]😀
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
It looks great but I would recommend using some 1/8" brazing rod next time
Great piece of art.

Art for arts sake is the best. Cool BOWL.
What a cool piece. I love having old steel and wood with a history.
Loving the editing of this video!
And the bowl came out fantastic
Fun to watch the process and the result is Art

perfectly imperfection --Thanks Will.
LOVE your sweater!!! And the bowl is a beautiful work of art!
Merry Christmas Will.
Pretty cool looks kinda like The Crown of Thorns. Nice project and Merry Christmas.
It’s what you want it to be.
Art is whatever you see it as.
Great inspiration 👌
Pretty cool
Basket, bowl, whatever you call it - great idea and excellent execution!

Artsy for sure... Like the result.🎄⛄
Happy Holidays 🎄⛄ I think it came out great 👍
That hot cut is so simple and beautifully done. Taking nothing away from the magically beautiful knives and other things you’ve made, this might be one of my favorite things you’ve done.
That’s a great sculpture.

It looks cool. Just call it a basket. Merry Christmas Will.
I Wish you and your family and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Will
Great video and Merry Christmas!
Need to make some metal fruit for the basket. Maybe a rusty apple, a bronze banana
Maybe a molten melon?
Merry Christmas brother.
Much love. God bless 🙏
Merry Christmas Will. I think that came out fantastic. Never knew that about wrought iron. It does look like wood. Being Woodworker, I should know, LOL. Hope the brother likes it.
Nice bowl! Merry Christmas will!!
I LIKE YOUR NEW FORMAT WITH NO MUSIC, ONLY THE SOUND OF THE TOOLS ! POETRY TO MY EARS
Would the wrought iron splinter and texture the same if you put it through your twisting machine?
Merry Christmas Will! All the best for you and yours. Also, your camera person is top notch. Love the camera work in this.
Epic! Kinda reminds me of wood coal as well
Where are some good places to look for wrought iron?
Looks amazing. Nice job bud
As you were making it, I couldn't help but think it started to look more and more like a medieval torcher device that you put on someone's head. xD
Awesome! Merry Christmas Will!
It looks cool
Will,
Fruit basket.
Merry Christmas.
Keep the aspidistra flying!
God bless,
Paul
So Stunning and Braise!
Nice work.
Awesome!!!
You could make a great spider with that stuff
Nicest wrought iron basket i have seen!
Merry Christmas Will. I love the bowl. (basket?) Either way it turned out amazing. Hopefully Santa will bring you a set of welding tips so you aren't having to braze with your cutting torch any more. Again. I love the bowl and I love the work you do.
Merry Christmas good Sir!

It’s a bowl! It holds our attention! 😊
Merry Christmas to you and your family Will!

Happy holidays
Would be cool to see how your twisting machine would split the wrought iron!
Absolutely abrazing 😎
That's a basket brother. Looks awesome.
So how do you get things out of the vertical quench tank when you drop them? Drain the tank or use some super long tongs/pliers?
