I say she's the rookie version of Trae Young, Trae struggled just like this in the 1st half of his rookie year. But his vision as a passer was the one thing that was always there. He damn near drops 50 on the Bulls in a loss around the All-Star break, and everything changed. Caitlin's lack of a midrange game is KILLING her potential on the WNBA level. She's a right hand dominant player that ONLY drives to the hole when going right, and almost ONLY takes a 3 or a long 2 going left. Seeking physicality is the one thing Trae always does, even as a small guard. As you pointed out, Caitlin lacks that.
Exactly!!! Coaching staff apparently can’t teach it so they need to spend a couple days locked in a room watching hours of Stockton and Malone since nobody did it better. Or the head coach could get on UA-cam and search “how to run a pick and roll” 😁👍🏻
The screeners also don’t roll in the correct direction so they spend so long basically fighting around their own screen and inadvertently popping. If they just rolled correctly, it’s an open lane almost every time.
True, but it's also a style of play Clark doesn't seem familiar with, either. She has a tendency to move before her teammates have finished setting the pick. A good coach would have cleaned this slop up weeks ago, but instead, Christie Sides doesn't seem to understand pick and roll and screens, either. It's painful to watch.
Your explanation of what Caitlin did and what she could have done, paired with replaying of the slow motion video, was extremely helpful to understand her current skill level and her potential for the future. First time viewer. Thanks!

@@jracee1 I get what he talked about and I get what he's saying, except he's just a dude with zero actual basketball experience. So it's literally a video of his observances as an absolute amateur. That's all good, and you can do whatever you'd like, but the honest truth is that he's not in any position to provide any actual insight. His "observances" are ones that anyone who's watched NBA basketball would take as common knowledge, like the "she needs to get stronger" nugget of knowledge. He's literally a couch coach, except he isn't even old enough to have actually coached anything.
@@jracee1 I went back and watched a few of Iowa's games , and Clark was just FASTBALLING passes to her teammates and not a single player had a problem with them, her teammates set great screens , and from what I saw, she was fast ENOUGH, not blazing speed, but fast enough. And as far as being not "tough enough" Pfft, who cares?? Her abilities are being wasted on a last place team where the fucking coach is sleeping with at least two of her players( it has been alleged), who she definitely favors over Clark.
And I can certainly get riled up if I feel like it.
The title should be how to break down plays immaturely....My guy is an amateur for sure, winging it
Did you even watch the video
Cc is much better
Lol, what a clown
