Man, brings back memories of the kids trying to convince the band teacher to have a percussionist slap a brass player instead of using the the whip crack
When I clicked I thought... oh boy another High School Band. I was shocked into reality by the quality of their performance. How they got a copy of the original arrangement I'll never know, but it was executed perfectly... extremely professional. All of the parents should be extremely proud. Students? No way. Next stop Sony's Scoring Stage. ***** Best of luck gang!
"Sleigh Ride" is one of the fun and light orchestral pieces written by Leroy Anderson. (Others were "The Typewriter", "Syncopated Clock", "Plink Plank Plunk", Bugler's Holiday", "A Trumpeter's Lullaby" and more - usually debuted with the Boston Pops.)
I've been playing the violin for seventy years but I never thought of the percussion section as less important than any other section of the band - or orchestra.
The school I go to is also called Cedarville, but it's in a different state. I thought this was a band of previous years for my school at first 😂 But still enjoyed listening anyways!
:) There are literally hundreds of CHS schools across the country. Ours is not even the only Cedarville High School. Try the proper name of your school. Good luck and I hope you find something you enjoy.

I believe the arrangement can be found on J.W. pepper

Executed perfectly? Since your standards are so low, please come over!

He wants to be a soloist, not stuck in back with percussion!😂
